The big change for me from kgd was the no gunk and faster and complete wicking. The former is beneficial everywhere, the latter is beneficial in tanks more than drippers. The down side is getting the damn density right :D.

I mainly use drippers, but use a kayfun on the go. Even though I haven't tried rayon in the Kayfun yet, I'm almost certain it's goint to be a big win because of it's wicking ability.

The density issue kind of sucks, because with KGD pads it's almost fool proof, and with rayon it's back to doing it by feel like with sterile rolled cotton. Not an issue for the pros, but still a minor step back for me. I'm waiting for the rayon pads to come out and do to CelluCotton what the cotton pads did for rolled and organic cotton lol.

I did get the density right first time with the rayon at least. I just used, I don't know, about 50% more than I'd use with cotton. An hour later I checked the wick and it looked like the pictures say it should. No bad hits with the second one I did either. It does seem to be a little less finicky on needing a perfect density to work properly.

OK, I'm on the bandwagon and ain't getting off! This stuff is the TRUTH! Holy cow what a vape! Thanks @JeremyR for the heads up on this. Been Lurkin' & Learnin' for a while now. Finally said "Heck with it" and got my .... to a Sally's. They didn't have the 500 ft. so I got the 3#er. Let's just say I won't want for wick for a LOOOOONG time! [emoji12] The box is knee high!
Thanks again @JeremyR for the tip!

OK kids, done some experimenting, in RDAs seems CC wicks much better in vertical and diagonal setups than cotton, even on my hot builds, 24ga around 1.5 or 2 mm mandrel, also seems to enhance flavor in most RDAs but that could totally be me and my builds, I absolutely love it in my Magma and the Zenith, now the real surprise is in the Plume Veil, that has quads at .4, sitting on my Caesura, with a 40A battery. WOW is all I can say,

I've switched to rayon in my Taifun GT, kayfun's and dripper. The flavor is at least as good as cotton, wicking might be better. Seems like the stuff doesn't burn or discolor inside the coil much at all and it seems to burn cleaner, if that makes sense. Less gunk on the coils after days of vaping.

****BUT: I think it's irritating my throat. Since switching all my primary devices to rayon from cotton, my throat is very sensitive and a little irritated. :( anyone else experience this?
The rayon is the only change, still vaping the same juices same nic level (6 mg) the only change is the rayon.

Yeah, same throat irritation for me too. Not sure if it was the rayon or some other factor though.

I had the same issue at first. It goes away. For me it had happened every time I switch to a better wicking material. When I went from stock silica to cotton, it happened. From cotton to kgd cotton, same thing, from kgd to rayon.

The more it vaporizes and hits the back of your throat, causing a mild irritation. It passes after a couple days in my experience.

I experienced this as well. Silica to P&C yarn to Org. Cotton to Rayon. I usually have break in period before vape bliss. I also switch flavors like crazy so I need to adjust to them as well. Usually takes me about 1 mil on new liquid and new wick. For total adjustment to a new wicking scheme takes a little longer for me. I know when I am good because I can chain vape like a locomotive.

For those that asked what juice, umm, damnifIknow.

I can list possible flavors I'd put in the Kayfun but I've never found an ADV so I consistently change flavors often. My short term memory is awful unless I make a point of remembering something and I don't keep track of flavors. With how good CCr is in that area it's become change with every refill. Possibilities; All from Hope E-liquids: choco-licious, let go my ekto, orange you glad. Might have had Top Vapes (from Madvapes) strawberry shortcake.

As the one poster who said something similar happened, I just dry burned the coil clean, rewicked with more CCr and I'm 2 tanks in on a good vaping experience.

I'm just baffled about what I might have done to burn it up so completely. I'd guess a completely dry burn as was suggested but wouldn't I have tasted that? Especially considering how complete the destruction of the wick within the coil.

When I did the burn test the sample went poof like an old time flash bulb. Therefore I am not surprised that a wick could do the same. Since the juice keeps the coil cool and from glowing white and even red hot then it's not far off when it becomes dry.

Same amount of liquid, 7-8 ml a day. Irritation went away after a few days switching back to organic cotton, then came back when I tried rayon again. Hadnt seen many other folks mentioning it, so I figured it was just me. Im not gonna fight thru it and keep vaping it to see if it goes away, my NET gunks the rayon up almost as fast as cotton anyways.

Sounds as if you used guncotton

I'm also having the problem that the sweet spot seems impossibly thin. Trying to wick my naturevape coil with CC and thought I had it first go as the flavour was so incredible but after an hour or so I started to get what I guess were coil hits. Rewicked with a tiny bit more and feels like the flavour is choked off.

Di you make sure you had enough wick in there. CC gets thinner as it gets wet and breaks in. So if you wicked it like cotton, in a little while it will not longer be in contact with the top of the coils.

I say I experience less irritation. This is the time of the night when I would notice my throat getting spent from chain vaping. Right now it feels good still and I went through a lot more juice today.

I was stuffing the cc in the coil, unlike cotton where I put it in with light resistance....the cc was getting stuffed in like a hotdog into a fat guys mouth!

No complaints on vapor, flavor, nic hit...just noticed after several days I'm getting throat irritation. I'm going to switch back to koh gen doh and see if my irritation goes away.

I think somewhere between page 125-150 throat irritation was discussed. I had it for a day or two. It went away. I think the main conclusion was more total vapor in a hit due to efficient wicking with smaller particle size allowing more vapor to reach your throat as the particles are suspended for a longer time.

After running CC exclusively for a couple of weeks now, I went back to KGD in my feeder the other night. The thing I like better about KGD is how easy it is to produce wicks of consistent density.

But there's no question that CC wicks better, and produces more vapor and more flavor, so the KGD only lasted one day in there, and I put CC back in last night. :D

I was also dismayed how much gunk there was on my coil after only one day with cotton in it.

Oh, and no matter how 'light' I make the wick, I can taste the rayon for the first few hits, however the same has always been true of cotton, so that isn't really any different. I'm not about to start boiling my wick materials but I am rather tempted to try some of the fancier rayon balls. If anyone would care to re-post the a link where to order them and thereby save me going backwards through this thread, I'd appreciate it.

I did experience some soreness this morning, but I am chalking that up to going through almost 15ml from the time I put the CC in the tanks. And really I only experienced discomfort this morning with a more tart flavlor, sweet or fruit I could go right back to chain vaping where I left off last night.
