It is Sally's, not an off taste or salt. It's a taste very much like the mild aroma of fresh linen.

Everyone tastes things differently, just because I taste something doesn't mean you will..and vice versa.

I can taste cotton also, it doesn't matter what kind or who the manufacturer is. Often the juice I vape is strong enough and the cotton or rayon taste is mild enough I don't detect it at all.

Pure VG has a taste to me, oily sweet kind of like premium virgin olive oil (I can't use it as a neutral reference). I can also wet rayon with water, fire the coil and smell the steam...smells like linen, same way it tastes.

Exactly my experience. Linen taste and smell first 10 seconds or few toots. I'm using unflavored at the moment. Maybe flavored liquids do hide this taste for the first few seconds.

I just bought a bag of it from eBay. Should I wash this or not? I'd rather not bother with it if it doesn't make a big difference. I had throat issues using cotton at first but it seems fine now.

Do you trust the person that sold it to you to be clean?

My guess is that it's probably a small batch from a Sally's box (Graham CelluCotton). You can try it and see. Most people don't taste anything, but a small handful of people seem to be really sensitive to something in it. I've been OK with it straight out of the box. Nothing but Blueberry Pie. (yes, I like pie - coconut cream last time) I didn't, but you'll probably have throat issues too, switching from cotton. Rayon just seems to make everything about e-liquid a little more potent.

Dunno, Jeremy - there could be some weird physiological thing (like super-sensitive taste buds, or a sensitivity, almost an allergy, or some weird gene) that could explain why a small, small percentage of people can taste something in it. The human body does some really weird things that just can't be explained by simple logic. But lucky most of us, all we get is flavor! :2c:

Just set up my Origen V2 dripper with dual vertical .6ohm 28ga microcoils and rinsed CC wick and I must have finally done something right - it's working great from the first hit! In my Kayfuns, even with the rinsed CC I was getting a bitter aftertaste for the first one or two mls, but not so with the Origen. Now I'm going to have to figure out what I did differently (I *think* I may have used less/fluffier rayon?). I'm also going to have to experiment with unrinsed CC - if that works the same, I'll be a happy camper.

I wouldn't say the flavor or nic hit is heads and shoulders above cotton, but it is probably at least equal. Vapor production seems to be about the same. If I can get results that are consistent, this will be my new wick. :)

...or not. djironic was my basis for this theory.

OK so you have the Bionic taste buds but my nic receptors are working well. In my dripper with rayon the nic really hits me hard. It does seem to die down after one or two re-drips but the first drip is a doozy nic wise.

It didn't die down your tolerance acclimated...

Actually I thought about that after I posted "my nicotine receptors". Actually my complete post was not terrible accurate. After my first experience with Rayon I learned one lesson don't chain smoke and take a pause now and then.

I taste nothing but juice maybe you can pick it up with better taste buds.
I don't claim to have exceptional taste buds. In fact, I'm confident my sense of smell is rather dull. And please don't mis-understand me; I'm not dissing rayon; I'm using it exclusively at this point and don't see myself going back to cotton. I'm just reporting my observations.

Interesting. So I used some max VG unflavored 6 mg nic juice from mbv. I got a hint of sweetness from this. Not sure if it's the delasco rayon balls or the unflavored juice. Not very sweet, but a mild and enjoyable hint of it.

I believe that is the typical description of how VG tastes.

I don't think it's pleasant but yep.

f1vefour,

Actually I keep a bottle of 25 PG 75 VG and my normal nic percentage around for times when I just get burnt out of whatever flavors I have on hand. Actually I kind of like it and I can use it as an ADV. With my flavored juices I have to keep rotating or get vapors tongue which makes everything taste like ....-ca.

Beside I can buy a 120 ml bottle of it from DIY houses for about $8 dollars and change. :vapor:

Where do you buy yours? Mbv is far more expensive than that.
