ok so i attempted that center post build with my cats rda. first i tried a 4strand twisted 32g nichrome80 sleeper build. that was a horrible experience.
so i took 1 strand of 24g kanthal, and 2 strands of 32g nichrome80 and twisted them up with drill. slapped that drill in reverse and rolled a fat clapton with .8/.1mm ribbon kanthal. .6ohms nice at 5-6v

A little high in ohms then i was shooting for of .4 but oh yeah crank up the vv and enjoy

I used rayon wick

I use both Sally's and Tencel. In my tanks (KF, Fogger, and Lemo) I prefer Tencel for .5 and lower ohms. The "trick" to Tencel is like Holman said - wet it thoroughly with your juice before you install the coil. I think it wicks better than Sally's on the low ohm tanks. I prefer Sally's on my bf Reo's, Tobh, and Origen at around .8 - 1.0 ohms

I'm satisfied w/the rayon from Sally's even though I like the med bottle rayon I first used by accident (thought it was cotton!) better. So no way am I going to start 'chasing the dragon' by trying every iteration of "rayon".

I asked this earlier but got no reply so I guess the question wasn't posed clearly, so I'll try again: Is there any correlation between the "sizzle" from a rayon wicked coil and the correct density of rayon in the coil? Reason I ask is lately I'm not getting much sizzle or crackle using Sally's. Earlier when I was using med bottle rayon I did get a good amount of sizzle. Same juices, same attys, same type coils, same ohms/watts, etc. So I'm wondering if the lack of sound is because I'm wicking too tight or if there's a difference in Sally's vs. med bottle rayon regarding the sizzle. Whew... replies/opinions or not- that's the last time I'm gonna ask all that! lol

Well for what it is worth I get more sizzle & pop with Tencel than I do with Sally's.

Tencel sizzle is more like what I got with Silica and I attribute it to more (larger pockets) of juice between the more coarse fiber of the Tencel. Again another opinion is that the spaces between the Tencel fibers act like capillary tubes and suck up and hold on to a fair amount of juice and when you hit is with 15-20 watts it's like Rice Crispies - Snap, Crackle and Pop. But what do I know.

Maybe Sally's rayon is meant for stealth vaping. ;)

Now that you bring it up cobalt, I use to get that snap, crackle and pop with Sally's when I vaped at a higher PG to VG ratio, 80-20 but now I'm at a 50-50 mix and don't get it anymore. Does that make sense or could it be due to something else I may have changed over time?

Slick,

I use 50/50 also so who knows. But - I would expect a higher VG to PG ratio to pop more. I am pretty sure VG has a higher boiling point. Now I have to go Google it to find out for sure.

Oh - something just dawned on me. Yesterday I fired up my Squape and forgot to take out my leak plug when I hit the button I got one heck of a pop... actually made me jump.

For clarity the leak plug is just some tissue I stuff in the air intake hole in case it decides to burp during the night. The thought of juice running inside my Vapor Flask is more than my OCD can deal with.

So now I am wondering if these newer atomizers with more air flow tend to knock down the sizzle & pop. The Squape has so much free air flow it is incredible

Sitting down, facing forward.
I dunno. I'm running Sally's in a Big Fogger, wicked pretty nicely, and get sizzle and pop at 22 watts with a .9 ohm build. The rayon wick is definitely tight enough since I'm on the 6th tank of liquid and the coils and rayon wick still look fine, checked the condition today as a matter of fact.

I do get some pop and sizzle from the Tencel in my CE3s, but they're running on auto stick batteries so the power level is kind of low. The CE3swith rayon wick from Sally's also produce a little pop and sizzle so I'm at a loss there. I don't use Tencel in the Foggers because it's too stiff and I don't have enough patience.

Here's a simple 1.9ohm 32g nichrome80, about 1.2mm ID.
Double insertion wick method, single tail thinned about 90% off close to coil.

^^ already thinned fanned out ready to be trimmed flush with deck.
So far so good with the squid, need to open the airflow up a tiny bit.

Just watched this Dr. F interview, some may be interested since rayon is discussed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJiIB4X7XFU

He suggests the 'simplest' least processed... so, I guess I shall go back to plain tobacco that is farm fermented and that's all... adios vapers! hehehehe. Seriously, he did admit that he doesn't know... and through talking about what he knows about Rayon he proved it. I'm guessing he just wasn't prepared to answer, nor would I expect him to be (unless he was given a list of the questions in advance). Not all Rayon has to go through the very very complex process as it was in the old days... hence the lyocell method... nor does it all require inorganic or toxic solvents/chemicals, nor does the fact the process is lengthy mean or contribute to there being contaminants in the final product... quite the opposite is often true with the process being what is required to reach the desired output quality. This is common sense chemistry.
