Howdy folks,
I wanted to update you'll, I have converted to a rayon user.
I've been going at it for a week now, after the 4'th day bought a box recommended to me by a friend here on ECF, shout out to you and thank you. What I didn't know is it was 3.2 lbs of it...I have enough wicking material to last a few dozen lifetimes, but in the spirit of pay it forward I'm spreading the word like mad.
As usual I will evaluate, this is a comparison to Braided silica also known as Ekowool
Wicking: 10 (if I could go higher I would)
It wicks instantly, I've never in my lifetime seen this on any other material in my life. It sucks it up and matains a good amount of juice.
Installation: 9
It takes some understanding of cotton or how to wick cotton, I've noticed this is a linear fiber system so if you have to snip it and its short then you'll need to toss the wick and start over, breaks reduce wicking.
Flavor transfer: 10
Just, amazing, there is no flavor loss due to wicking material, it carries all flavors thus far without filtering out any. I'm impressed.
Heat resistance 4
Ok, this is compared to silica, to be expected it wouldn't hold up as well but please don't be shy away from this, It will burn like cotton but its awefully hard to do this. I've had my mod cranked up to 60 watts on a .4 coil without even getting the wick to darken, the coils glowed red once and I figured "Awww crud, time to rewick" but nope, didn't even phase this stuff so it has some pretty good heat resistance.
Over Impressions:
I'm impressed, I'm not reacting to it so far and it carries flavor better then anything I've had before, ease of wicking is awesome. I'd recommend this to anyone that is currently on cotton or is going to try cotton as an alternative that will hold its own against anything available currently. If you haven't already go ahead and give it a spin, you won't regret it I promise you this.
