Howdy folks,

I wanted to update you'll, I have converted to a rayon user.
I've been going at it for a week now, after the 4'th day bought a box recommended to me by a friend here on ECF, shout out to you and thank you. What I didn't know is it was 3.2 lbs of it...I have enough wicking material to last a few dozen lifetimes, but in the spirit of pay it forward I'm spreading the word like mad.

As usual I will evaluate, this is a comparison to Braided silica also known as Ekowool

Wicking: 10 (if I could go higher I would)
It wicks instantly, I've never in my lifetime seen this on any other material in my life. It sucks it up and matains a good amount of juice.

Installation: 9
It takes some understanding of cotton or how to wick cotton, I've noticed this is a linear fiber system so if you have to snip it and its short then you'll need to toss the wick and start over, breaks reduce wicking.

Flavor transfer: 10
Just, amazing, there is no flavor loss due to wicking material, it carries all flavors thus far without filtering out any. I'm impressed.

Heat resistance 4
Ok, this is compared to silica, to be expected it wouldn't hold up as well but please don't be shy away from this, It will burn like cotton but its awefully hard to do this. I've had my mod cranked up to 60 watts on a .4 coil without even getting the wick to darken, the coils glowed red once and I figured "Awww crud, time to rewick" but nope, didn't even phase this stuff so it has some pretty good heat resistance.

Over Impressions:
I'm impressed, I'm not reacting to it so far and it carries flavor better then anything I've had before, ease of wicking is awesome. I'd recommend this to anyone that is currently on cotton or is going to try cotton as an alternative that will hold its own against anything available currently. If you haven't already go ahead and give it a spin, you won't regret it I promise you this.

Rayon has a big learning curve, but its cheap so you'll have plenty of Rayon to practice with.

I too get the light Nutty flavor most of the time, but it goes away after 6-10 drags, then i get nothing but juice flavor.

Going away in 6-10 drags is fine.. At least you know there is enough in there... Only downside is you won't reach 100ml with it. A tighter density than needed will lead to premature slight gunking... But hey if you get 50ml that's still great right.

Hey thanks for your thorough review!

If the coil glowed I suspect your density is to light in the coil. Go tighter next time... Its not too tight till you taste the woody/nutty rayon flavor on the first few hits. Then you know your slightly over dense.

Takes a Lot more than cotton.

Happy vaping!

I'm noticing that you can really pack it through, I've been working from a little on upwards to find that happy medium though the few youtube videos I've seen show them really packing that in there, I guess I'll go until I hear the tell tail squeaking of the coil, that seems to be something important, can you confirm that the squeaking of the coil is good.

Oh, could we or someone please submit a compilation of this thread for the newbies if possible. 900+ pages is an awfully lot to read through for tips and tricks.

If you decide to split them up and sell some to recoup your money I'd be interested in some, or I'll trade you for some Sally's :D Just kidding, I'd gladly pay you for some, I'd like to try them and compare to the Sally's I have. I'd order a box but I really don't want another life time supply of rayon that I don't know what to do with.

Sure I'll share, just PM me. The worst part of getting these (Delasco and TIDI) has been the long wait time. I would have to review... but I think I ordered these about 2 weeks ago... and the delay wasn't in ship time ;) There have probably been medical professionals wondering why so many people are ordering small lots of rayon balls, etc.

The size and cost of that 3# box only helps to further convert more people via PIF! Meanwhile, certain 'organic cotton' materials are being limited to 1 box per order so people don't like to share too much... we, on the other hand, are just looking for people to take some off our hands while enjoying the conversion rate it brings :)

Are they shipping Rayon with new atty's yet? If not, how long until that happens... I have bought a couple that came with cotton facial pads already.

Been using rayon all day, finally went and got a box at Sally's yesterday.

Not to get into a coil debate, but I read through this thread last nite and put enough rayon in to where the coil legs were starting to sway as I fed it through. Is this how you all are deciding how much? Seems this works better to trim after juicing the wick too, just hope I'm not breaking any fibers doing it that way. I'm only at about 10 mils of juice today and it's working really well. Vape production and taste has been perfect since the second or third hit. I'm hoping this can go 30 mil.

Welcome mtek!

Snug in the coil, sounds like your close.. Should be able to do 30ml no problem.

The most important thing is to check the wick throughout the first day to ensure you have good contact on the ends of the coils with no gap. Should be able to push on the wick and not expose a gap..

However sounds like youve got enough in there if you tasted it for a few hits. If so and it was only a few it should be able to go as long as you can keep it wet.

I do all my trimming dry and thin the tails considerably. You get much more efficient wicking. Try to maintain even density and tails on both sides.

Off topic: I don't think one needs to be a truck driver to realize that to get to Riverside, California from San Francisco, California you don't go through Lubbock, Texas

Check this USPS Tracking number out: LN643135085CN
Wait, I thought truck drivers got paid by the mile.....
