May be a semantics issue going on here and this may be way out in left field. TW (Totally Wicked) Attys are most likely rebranded Joyes, but who really knows coming from Chinia. They are NOT dual coil. They have been a reliable atty with a very good lifespan in my experience if kept wet. I know I have several that are pushing three, yes 3 months old with little or no maintenance.
PS. Is there a dual coil atty on the market now ?
Is the titan actually the joye 510, so it's a dual coil? If thats so, then I think I know what happens when after a few days of vaping it suddenly keeps shutting off.

When I read what you said, I tried cranking the voltage on the VV way down, and when I got to around 3.7v it started working again. Makes sense if one coil died then the resistance dropped as well. Basically using a LR atty now, not the best thing to use on a VV mod :(

Sound right?

(I broke my cheapo multimeter the other day and my Mom is sending my good one down from storage and I should get it tomorrow.... sucks not having a DMM).

Ahoy, good morning me 'earties!

I don't know Laz, I think I will take one of them apart and see what makes it tick. It's strange, the work fine for a while, then start cutting out, then I turn the voltage down low, and they go back to working almost as good as before? strange ...

Gonna be a busy week, fun times ahead methinks!

Making me head spin! I am sure of one thing- all flavor is vanquished at 5volts with a 4.5 306 atty. And that was nice juice.
That is not but 5.5 watts. I would be surprised if it even produces much vapor. A 3 ohm atty will give you 8.3 watts which seems to be a popular sweetspot. Actually, somewhere between 8 to 10.

6 volts will give 8.3 watts with the 4.5 atty. :)

Edit:  just remembered you won the 5V. Yeah, try a 3 ohm atty.

I won a wood box mod awhile back and I am so surprised with the difference between it and any other 3.7 V mod that I have ever tried! I have heard people say that the wood mods are better but would not have believed it until I tried it! The vapor that I get using my dual coil cartos is phenomenal! Not to mention that the workmanship is just outstanding. Oh, did I mention how good it feels in the hand? Or how good the button feels? The rubber on the button just really adds so much to the feel. Sorry I am not very good at reviews but I just had to come back and tell you thank you again! :)

Have I heard back from any of the new Cutlass owners? Wonder how the new ladies are doing out there ...

Well, I have good news and bad news. The switching regulators look like they will fit into the current box without any real modifications, but the bad news is that I will have to make room in the bottom for the adjustment hole.

I ordered a on/off switch from Digikey that is half the size of the current one and that will give me the extra room I need but they just shipped it today so the wait is on altho I can start making boxes tomorrow.

I've heard nothing but good from the people using that regulator in Tom's and Brad's mods so I'm very happy to be changing over to this one and I think the increased price of the board will be offset by the the time I will save making them so no plans on a price hike either, Yo ho!

Prebuilt boards beats the crap out of soldering the other ones together. Takes longer than youd think seeing them in pieces. Maybe in september Ill grab another RSM. I owe the wife a new mod in the meantime lol.

Yes, but I bought the wrong thing! Read 2.8 to 5, try a 306. So that's no joy. BTW, plenty of vapor, just no flavor. No flavor or vapor on the standard atties from my ego. Everything else I have is low (1.7 or under) resistance. Love the 1.7 resurrector on the ego- so that's like 8 watts. Anyway, going to make an order. To save on shipping and frustration could all you please let me know your favorite (for a 5 volt) atty and or cartomizer (if you use one on the wetbox- I'd like to try one of those while I'm at it) brand and amp? Would really appreciate it. I am definitely getting 3.0 but what brand? And 510 or 306? Or both?
