Right Over Here
Ahoy Capt' Brian, I have been waiting all day to ask what things to buy for my lovely, lovely mod! Thanks so much, pardon me if I keep saying that for a while! I know I need a charger, buy what atty is best with this 5 volt? I have? 510 atties. Do you recommend anything in particular? How about taking care of that beautiful wood? I have been reading the forum but it it is 430 pages!

Down the rabbit hole..
Thanks much violetvoo! Btw, saying your name out load made my cat look at me like I'm nuts! Any advice on atty/carto at 5volts for starting out? Regular 510?

reg 510's work..I use 306's too...I recommend getting a couple of each and playing til you see what you like..
I use some hr's 3.5 ohm's too when vaping 5 or 6v..

SO Cappy have you found a name for your new son yet?

Not yet, he's still "Hey Dog, Yo Stupid" but we will think of something.

Got him in to the vet today, he has a mouth infection, yeast infection from matting, hook worms from the kennel probably, is 20 pounds underweight (so have to wait until we feed him up to get a Rabies booster) and is still a playful, mild mannered dog. Poor guy ...

Evening Cappy & mateys. Thunderstorms kept me away(lightening and pcs don't play well).

From what I have read, over tightening compresses the gasket between the +/- and produces the short. Of course can push the center pin where the atty will not fire also. Since I use an adapter w/801, I am ever cautious when installing an atty and the adapter is screwed into the atty, not connector. Just snug enough to fire is all one needs;-)

Ahoy! All the prizes have been tested, bubbled, packed and ready for shipping on tomorrows tide, arrr.

Has anyone noticed on occasion if you screw in an atty too tight, it seems to short the atty connector and kill power?

I found the only thing to do is remove the atty then remove the battery for 5 minutes (to let the chip reset) and try again, this time holding the fire button down and slowly screwing on the atty until it starts to sizzle. I wonder if it is slight size/tolerance differences between atty connector and atty as it only happens once in a while.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this or has a better answer to why it happens :p

Yer hooks must be needin a slight delicate touch adjustment. :D Some Attys & carto center pins need adjusting out the box. Such high tech close tolerance's via China ya know it is mate. :)
Sometimes, ca ca occurs and be thankful the batt's didn't dump hard and fry chit. ;)

Poor dog. Damn people for treating animals like that.

I'm so happy he has you now.
