If I understood Kristin correctly (and she'll correct me if I'm wrong!)... she took the 1" thick pad and cut it into "slices" that were about 6mm thick (or so). That would give her a piece that is 6mm thick and 1" wide. Lay that on it's side (flat) and then make your plug that way. So the plug will be 6mm thick.

Does that help you visualize it?

Well...I wasn't that organized about it, lol!

I just snipped about a 8mm X 8mm piece off. (didn't have any way to cut it lengthwise) That left me with a long, skinny piece the height of the pad - about 25mm (1") long. I then snipped a 8mm piece off that. Turned it sideways and trimmed it down again to about 5mm to fit cart.

So Kristin, The puff buff is as good or better than the blue scrubbie?

I only used the blue pad for about a day & a half when I found the buff puff. I noticed it was starting to leak on me & not wick as much after a while, but it could be that I had cut my second piece too large and had packed it too much. (I also has my starw in wrong for a while - had the notches blocked.) But it also seemed to get squished as I kept taking it out to refill - never quite seemed to expand back again.

Anyhow, I decided to give the buff puff a try and so far I feel it's performed better, IMO. It hasn't turned hard or crusty and I like that the fibers allow it to expand back into place again everytime I have to remove it and put it back after a refill. You have to make sure you insert it in the right direction, though, so the fibers are parallel to the cart.

I've only been using it a day, though. I'll report back again tomorrow!

I just looked down and realized that I have vaped through a full 5ml of 24mg ECOpure today.... and I know for a fact that I haven't wasted a single drop.

I just noticed that I'm going through a lot more juice too.
I'm glad to hear you guys say this. I thought my juice was somehow disappearing on me. I used to vape 3ml a day, but I think I'm close to 5 now.

I think I'll give the buff puff a try. I did the blue pad one last night, and my throat felt a little scratchy when I went to bed, like it had a residue on it. I even cleaned off my trimmed piece in water, then patted dry before vaping with it. Sure did have a lot of vapor though. DEFINITELY when through the cart faster than normal, but I've only got almost 2 weeks under my belt as comparison. I think my juice is subpar too. Can't wait for my HV stuff to arrive!!

Do you mean like a gurgle, when the atty is flooded a bit?

I seem to get that with this mod, but not so much that it actually floods the atty. It's more like a sizzle because it's really moist, but not wet.

I originally attributed it to 'condensation' within the cart after 30-40 vapes; but now, I'm not so sure.

Well, yesterday this mod seemed fine (while at home); however, it didn’t travel well today. Now, I know what a leaky cart looks like! Thank G@d for Manual Batteries!!

3/8 x 3/8 was too small. Upon examination; I can see through the ‘fabric’ of the little cube AND the weave loosens up if you take it out for refilling. I think I need to cut these a little larger and compress them into place for a better plug (might last longer too, if the fabric loosens a bit). No evidence that the atomizer burns the ‘blue’ material.

Here are my results for day 1.

1. No leaks

2. Used 1 cart all day riding in my car on a 300+ mile trip. Changed batteries out 3 times but used same cart all day.

3. When I changed my cart out it was dry.

4. Consistent vapor through out usage

I did notice that the filler (puff buff) was crispy when checked it when I got home. I'm thinking that 1 to 2 usages of same filler plug before discarding. I pre loaded 10 carts for quick swapping last night. That way when I'm out I do not need to worry about pulling the plug to refill. Not that they would be needed but I like to plan for all contingencies.

It is a huge improvement compared to the stock cart. Overall I give it a 99.9% success. Minus .1% for the crispy issue. :thumb:

Condensation is likely to some extent. Mostly the liquid in the mouth piece chamber is caused by liquid bypassing the atomizer. This can be caused by overfilling but normally is caused by drawing harder than the atomizer can vaporize the nic juice. This can also be caused by a weak battery that is underpowering the atomizer. If you hear a gurgling sound, that is liquid bypassing the atomizer. A sizzling sound is good to hear and means that the liquid is being vaporized. If your atomizer is in good shape and your battery is fully charged it is very hard for liquid to survive the trip through the atomizer.

You must vape real slowly compared to me. I can go through a cart in less than one hour. I'm talking bone dry too.

Kevin

I'm not a power vapor-er. Just a little hear and there. Since I switched to the PV I don't feel the need to hot box it.

Last night during R&D testing I emptied one in ten minutes. Good thing it was low mg. 8-o:lol:

Normally a standard cart will last me a couple of hours till I need to top it off. This is a definite improvement.

Kristin and I are going to have words. And they aren't going to be nice words.

So I go to Walgreens today looking for the ghey Buff-Puff. I walk up and down all the feminine aisles... and no, I won't ask for help. I see a generic "Buff-Puff" looking thing.. but I'm thinking to myself "Nah... Kristin would only use and recommend the genuine, certified item. No generic for me!".

So I leave Walgreens and trek over to Walmart. Same story... up and down the feminine aisles... far, far away from the motor oil and fishing supplies. No luck. Nothing but generic Buf-Puff clones. Not good enough for me and my prized 510.

Then I gander over that the other thread.. and find out that my precious Kristin is actually using a generic "equivalent", and we can't possibly hope to recreate her results. If ours don't work as good.. she'll say that we have the wrong no-name Chinese import clone.

I'm getting in my car right now... driving North.. and thumpin' her on her lil' noggin'.

(You watch... next she'll tell us that Tampons or feminine pads are the bomb... and that Summer's Eve cleans attys best!)
