Her sister did infact tell the manager to move them

Well there ya go. To tell the truth I don't care whether vaping retains indoor allowance or not - I am young enough that I never smoked indoors, and if I need a vape that badly I will discreetly do it in a corner or bathroom wherever I am and regardless of what the laws say. The point stands though that one in a million people may have an allergy to cinnamon, or to some scent chemical, but the other 999,999 people cannot be reasonably expected to accommodate for this in all public situations. Especially businesses.

Why because I am sick of seeing people who have no respect for anyone at times even themselves? Or maybe you agree with the ones that do stuff like vaping at the gas pumps? or the guy extracting tobacco from a cigar with ISO? or the kid saying to make an e-cig out of a 9 volt battery and a carto?

Ok you brought these points enough times for me to decide to comment on them.
Guy at the gas pump: ok probably not cool but probably less of a danger than static electricity. No facts to back that but a gut feeling. As a visual impression to others it probably isn't smart.

Guy extracting tobacco from a cigar with ISO: I imagine that would be nasty tasting. Never did care for the taste of wet cigars. Will it vape? Heck if I know. Is it worth doing? Probably not, I certainly wouldn't bother with it.

Kid with the battery: 100% not smart. The battery could/would overheat and hurt him if he ran it too long or too often. I saw that video this morning. At the time there were dozens of comments pleading with him to remove it for just that reason. If he continues to do it, well, you can't fix stupid and regulations can't either. Pain is a great teacher. Getting hurt has taught me much.

No on to the other stuff. What would you have us do Nancy? Go to the designated smoking section? Expose ourselves to second hand smoke? Deal with that nasty smell even though we don't smoke? Sorry, I venture out there from time to time to set an example and offer my friends an escape route. But I'm always upwind and I don't get too close now that I can smell that stench again.

Hate campaigns in this country are what has hurt us. People make money off this crap .Every time you turn on the TV someones is advocating for something. Advertising is becoming a joke. We all know most of their claims are non existent why do people believe the rest of it. I watch tv ads daily where death is a side effect of the medication and they expect me to worry about ecigs. Why aren't they banning Chantix.

^^ This. Really the media in general has become a joke. There is absolutely zero journalistic integrity anymore. Every channel picks a side and does everything they can to portray their side as correct and the other side as wrong. They hide the things their side is guilty of, and demonize the other side for their wrong doings. Anyone that disagrees with them are instantly labeled as racists, hate mongers, imbeciles, or some other derogatory words unsuitable for this forum.

As to those who are saying I am giving them ammo, what about all the posts in here about people lying on insurance paperwork and stuff like that, because while it might very well be unfair that nicotine users pay more, lying to the insurance company and your employer can get you fired. Not to mention all the ammo those posts give. but yet in the last year there has been what 5 or 6 threads alone on that subject.

You really need to research before posting things. This sounds like a Talbot attack more than a point of debate. Everytime vapers get grouped in with current smokers it's a loss to the cause. There will always be threads that could be used as ammunition but there are thousands of times that many threads showing how much good vaping has done for people. If you set out looking for negativity in things, it is all you will see. This is exactly what opponents of vaping do on a regular basis and it's why so much bad Info is circulated.

There are so many cases of things being recalled, FDA approved drugs causing near fatal or fatal side effects, products found to contain lead in paints and plastics, etc I would think vaping would be the last thing on their list. It's fueled by the "holier than thou" people and their quest to stand out from everyone else as model humans that is our problem.

Don't point at someone for not being around here long enough to know, they might read a lot in those 6 months and last I checked you've only been registered a year. We are here to support people who wish to quit a deadly habit and guide them along their vaping journey, not fear monger and separate ourselves from the pack.

Looking down at the people viewing this thread, I think it has gotten way more attention that it should have. I think that all it's doing is inflaming people and getting their rants on lol. I'm guilty, I have gotten my rant on but now I think I would prefer to go to another thread that doesn't make me feel so bad. Take care all, everyone has done well in fighting for your rights to vape. Be respectful but Vape ON!!!

I would say that this attitude is reflected by mostly younger vapers. Part of the "special" generation. They believe they are entitled to everything and that no one has a right to tell them anything.

To those that say vapor is not harmful to others, that has yet to be absolutely proven.

Also some people are highly sensitive to scents, smells, and odors. Being around someone wearing certain types of perfumes and colognes seriously irritates my throat, lungs, and sinuses. So there is no way to say for certain that our exhaled vapor does not bother some people.

I have never treated my vaping any different than smoking. Meaning I don't vape anywhere I didn't smoke.

Keep in mind I smoked for years everywhere. And I mean everywhere. The last time I was a patient in a hospital I was allowed to smoke, in the hospital. There was no place you were not allowed to smoke.

My point is that I adjusted to that even after years of being allowed anywhere at anytime. All outsiders know is that it looks like smoking to them and they react the same whether it's smoke or vapor. People need to grow up. Just throwing vaping in the publics face will not help our cause.

Well I skipped ahead a bit but this looks like it got ugly.

Now earlier today I posted a rant about vaping in my work place. My workplace has a blanker policy on tobacco products that could be interpreted as applying to e-cigs depending on how you read it. We stoped vaping when the statement was read and that was that. Then my store manager asked me if I was smoking again because he noticed I was going outside for my breaks, I explained that I was not smoking I just could not vape in the building. He said gave me the go ahed as longs as nobody complained.

Today a lower ranking manager pulled me into the office and pointed out policy to me. Now I NEVER vaped on the sales floor, I always asked those near me if it bothered them if they sat near me or I asked first if I sat down when they were there, i never vaped during the 4 hour manager meetings i would have to endure every week. I did all I could to be respectful of those around me. This little creature instead of telling me it bothered then pulled policy on me. All they would have had to do is ask me to stop, or not vape near them.

Now I'm not even ...... that I have to go outside. I'm ...... because this ASM and I have had problems in the past and he is using the ANTZ inspired policy For personal reasons. It gave this little idiot the ability to blatantly disrespect me instead of just asking me face to face to stop because it bothered him (if it does at all cant call him on it)It gave him the ability to screw me just because he could. Why because people think its okay to treat us the same as smokers.

I'm not saying the rule should not be in place. I'm saying the reason behind the rule is wrong.

They don't ban vaping in places because of smell, they band it because it LOOKS like smoking, using completly proven to be BS statmens of risk to others. Sitting and taking it, letting us get taxed the same as smokers. Blindly letting ANTZ run amuck with how we are treated and perceived is not how we should be doing things.if you want to see vaping get gutted and striped down to a shadow of what it is feel free to do nothing. If you want to inhale secondhand smoke without even getting to ask if you can vape in places, go head and do nothing. We don't have the right to fight for our rights after all.

I work for an insurance company (big one too). You don't count as a smoker on your home policy, but if you have a life policy, it comes down to nicotine usage (including the patch), not tobacco use. If you lie and they find out, they will return what you've paid but not pay out the agreed coverage. Not necessarily fair, but its not worth gambling on. Everyone gets medical testing for most good policies and they always find out.

I was actually asking about medical. My Policy offers a big discount for taking a "tobacco free pledge". As far as Life Ins goes, I paid the tobacco user premium even before I smoked or used tobacco in any way. Back then I frequented night clubs a lot and there was always a ton of smoke. I was worried that I might inhale enough to pop positive on a nicotine test if something happened to me and they would void the policy. The cost difference was like $2 month so it was worth the peace of mind.

I am not saying go to the smoking area, but show some common courtesy, yes many do tho many don't, the people that don't are the problem. If a place has a no vaping policy then don't vape while in that place, don't lie to them about what you are doing just wait til you aren't there, if someone does have an issue find out before you spend a week complaining about the person, maybe they do infact have a REAL problem. For the record I vape in public all the time, I do not however vape inside the stores, or even in friends cars unless they are ok with it.

Why do you people keep coming back to scents? This could just as well be a problem with your shampoo, the soap you use, your deodorant, your perfume/cologne, etc. Why is smell JUST NOW becoming an issue and ONLY directed at vaping. I hate the way car exhaust smells AND it is EXTREMELY harmful to people, animals and the environment. Should everyone stop driving cars?

You have a point there. If we do not stand up for our rights no one else will. And that is how the system is supposed to work. One side presents their agenda and the other theirs. Something is worked out that pleases no one. But most can live with. The problem is that in some cases those who shout the loudest for their rights show little regard for the rights of others.

So yes we should fight to avoid having crushing restrictions imposed on us. And we should work toward being able to vape in some places where smoking is not allowed. But being arrogant about it just hurts our cause and makes it more likely that such restrictions will be imposed.

This is a case of fight for your rights or lose them. Not just with vaping but with literally every single right in the Bill of Rights is currently under attack. If we do not do something to fight back we will not have any rights left. This does not have to happen, but it is going to take all of us working together to preserve our rights, the rights that our men and women of the armed forces have died for, during and since the American Revolution.

So you are saying ban all things because some people aren't courteous? Well then ban alcohol because I'm tired of innocent people dieing in car accidents involving drunk drivers.

You can't change dumb people and their behavior. There is no law or regulation that will accomplish this as those same people will just ignore the laws anyway. It's the same thing as gun control, do you really think outlawing guns will keep outlaws from getting them?

If you have a rare medical condition it is YOUR responsibility to avoid situations that would cause it to be aggravated, not the other 5 billion people. I get heartburn from acid reflux, i don't go into the Thai restaurant and tell them to stop serving spicy food.

You have control over the foods you eat or the things you drink or vape for that matter, however, like my friend who is allergic to cinnamon, she has no control over someone else using it in public places, so why shouldn't she say something to someone about it or ask them not to do it next to her? I love cinnamon, even love cinnamon vapes, that doesn't mean I use anything with cinnamon around her knowing it will put her in the hospital.
