After all, the Supreme Court's ruling only affected Health Care. vaping had nothing to do with it.
America - what a... krap. I said that already.

Actually, yes. It is a law where I live that taxes be collected and paid for sales of goods, EVEN AT A GARAGE SALE. Is it done? Is it enforced? Nope. But when my folks died I had a house full of stuff so I did indeed follow the law and get a resale license. I set up on ebay, sold a LOT of stuff, made a lot of money and paid my taxes.
But then again I value my nursing license and don't need to break the law to make a profit and risk losing my real means of livelihood. I do realize that not all people are above board, but that is just me.
So what are we arguing here? That they're price gouging or they're not paying their taxes? I suppose ECF could require a copy of their Income Tax return every year......

If they are not the price police, then why cant the sellers be called out on their high prices? We are allowed to say what a great price something is, but can not say that its a ripoff. Let the public deal with the scalpers. I have no issues with people marking stuff up that is hard to get. Some people wait up all night to be the first to get an item. Ill pay more for an item like that. Lot less hassle. But the common $50 item that someone is selling for $100, they should be called out with a link as to where to get for $50.
If you are asking me then you are preaching to the choir. I agree that the scalpers should be called out. On the other hand, having been in thier shoes, I understand the rules about not calling them out in the classy thread. This prevents food fights from breaking out that often end in disciplinary action for parties other than the scalper.
Socialist thinking at its finest.
The IRS doesn't give a fat rat's tail if they're a legitimate business, licensed or otherwise, so long as they're paying their taxes. Not a very good analogy.
I'm only gonna post my 2 cents and go away, no debating, I dont really care if you agree or disagree. But buying hard to get items and selling them at a profit is the way the world turns! I'm in the guitar business and thats exactly what people do there too!! When I purchase a guitar that is hard to get, hard to find, or rare I sell it for more then I paid(just like any collector)....!!! What makes this any different? With ecig paraphernalia some of these said products you only have a 30 min window(or less sometimes) and that window presents itself at 3a.m. in some cases. So if you do the leg work to achieve one of these items, I think you earned the right to sell it at what ever price you desire. If its too high, no one will pay it... that should be the deciding factor. I think if you don't like the price stop whining and Move on!!!
Well said my friend....Another person with no concept of what "Socialist thinking" is.
If you're so into freedom this and freedom that, why are we not free to question people on their price in their threads? HUH?
Forced silence rule = Freedom? I'm all for people charging whatever they want! I'm also for being able to question them on it! That's freedom, Sir!
The same place the buyer should "Beware" is the same place the seller should "Beware" too.
When did being a decent person and having accountability for your actions become a socialist ideal?
