Let's be real here. I've been on that classified forum since May 2012. In that time there have been only a handful of threads where people are pointing fingers and quoting prices. A HANDFUL! Not mass hysteria, not total chaos! A HANDFUL! In every case the OP was obviously over pricing the item. When someone points out the retail price, where to buy for retail or even where to get on the waiting list, the OP get's all .... HURT!! If the price was fair, why get all .... hurt about someone pointing out the truth? Because we blew your chance to rip someone off, THAT'S WHY! Boo ... hoo...I'm trying to rake someone over the coals and these mean people are making it hard for me to do it! THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!
If your item isn't selling there's two reasons for it. Neither of which is the fault of people commenting on your price.
1. Nobody want's that crap. I've seen people selling all manner of junk. No telling what they will try and sell. Old nasty used drip tips, Old juice, you name it. A buddy and I joke that we could sell our cap juice from the Zen's and someone would buy it if we priced it low enough. Bottom line is your junk is not everyone elses treasure. If it's so good, why are you selling it then? Profit? If so then you should be subject to members scrutany.
2. Your price is too high. I don't care what you paid for it. Threads that don't sell in 24 hours should be removed. There should be a rule that you can't re-list the same thing for the same lame ... price too. If your item and price was that hot it would have sold in under 3 hours. All good deals sell in this time! PERIOD! I say 24 hours and your junk gets booted. You can sell anything IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Not selling an item? Charge less.... Or here's an idea....KEEP YOUR JUNK! Don't cry that people don't want your items. Just because you were dumb enough to buy it doesn't mean we should free you up of it at any price.
I'm 100% for people charging whatever they want. I'm totally against any rules that prevent this. BUT, I'm equally against rules that prevent the members at large from comment on these sales. As long as the question or comment is formed in a non inflamatory way, why should ECF care? If price comment is not allowed, neither should random bumps be either. They are not related to the sale and are abused by other gougers/scalpers to keep their posts on top. If one guy can say "Wow, great price and a great member...buy with confidence" for a guy selling a Zenesis standard for $450, why can't I question that "Great price" and "Great member"?
