It's interesting what you say about cartridges Trog. I've never had any luck with them, I prefer to drip directly onto the atomiser but I know this isn't a good thing when it leaks into switch or battery. I recently killed a couple of Janty automatic switches by getting them wet with dripping.

Do you think an atomiser or switch arrangement will be developed specifically for use without a cartridge, one where we can drip without worry of killing anything? That would be my choice, I think cartridges are fiddly, messy things and dripping is much handier. I think that would be an improvement even on the disposable atomiser idea because it would be reusable and would give flavour and strength of juice choice.

These pics are nothing to do with size comparison. It mainly to show the screwdriver among the others and how robust it looks and actually is

i never realized people thought the screwdriver was bigger than what it is.. here is a pic with something thats really big.. the health cigar i have just recieved.. he he

it more about shape than simple size i think.. the srewdriver is a "nice" shape.. it fits the hand..

the one in the pic is a damaged pre production one.. its the one i am smoking.. i get the left overs.. he he he

kate.. u might blame yourself for killing the device but it might simply have died anyway.. if dripping did kill it off its poor design..

but go back to rusty and his old ladies.. the chinese make things for rustys old lady they dont make things that work.. so my answer to the second part of your question would be no..

the 901 atomizer has hole thru it.. flui leaks thru this hole.. the hole is to activate the suck switch in the battery..

now the screwdriver dosnt have a suck switch.. it dosnt need the hole.. this hole is a problem fluid gets on the electrical contacts.. its not good fluid getting onto low voltage electrical contacts.. they need constant cleaning.. if u cant get at them to clean the device is dead..

problem.. we could bung the atomizer hole up with the atomizer we send out with the screwdriver but the hole will soon come back when normal ones are purchased.. but with a clean every so often the thing will keep going.. we cant really stop the need for this (every so often) clean..

if we made the atomizer in the first place we could but we aint up to making those as yet.. he he.. we are playing with the technology available..

trog

ps.. magic ned.. u beat me to it.. thanks.. your pic shows the size thing well..

hows the health e-cigar dude what do you think of it ?

he he he.. it seems to work.. it looks like cigar even tastes like one.. i plugged it in after ten minutes or so.. the charging green light went off..

it probably is as good as the ruyan 45 dollar throw away with the possibly of a bit longer life..

amusing.. not for long term use but makes more sense than the ruyan throw away.. it is a throw away but after three carts instead of just the one..

used as its intended nice.. what nicotine content the fluid is i have no idea.. but i aint gonna knock the device ..

treat it as a use the three cart then throw away device its sound... assuming some real know what u are smoking carts appear it make more sense the the real throw after one cart cigar does.. its okay..

i quite like it... he he he

i wouldnt dream of attempting to make it last longer thow.. its an extended life throw away cigar..

well i'm going to throw my two penny worth in the pot i'm fast a sleep dreaming of blue sea and white sand when i'm woke up."i've won the bidding on ebay for Trog's screwdriver" my original thoughts were, here we go again a weekend of moan, winge, moan, winge (oh sorry!! men dont do any of these things do they) ha ha.

I was not amused as you can well imagine and he still hadn't told me how much it had cost.

Friday arrived and so did the screwdriver, READY TO USE NO CHARGING BATTERIES that was a plus in itself.

Anyway there has been no moans and no wingeing but a quiet e:smoking weekend

you all know how many different e:cigs/pipes/cigars ned and i have got and have purchased over the last few months.

But in all honesty ned is usually changing his e:cig on and off all day but all i have seen him vape/smoke since friday is the screwdriver.

Trog the screwdriver is a credit to you well done my friend and good luck

I just thought I would give an update after a week of using the screwdriver as if anybody might be interested to know.
To be totally honest with you it's still performing as good as when it first arrived last week having no problems and no failures all still working like it should. The batteries are still performing for seven to eight hours and both atomisers are still working with no problems at all.

So that's it really there is no more to say apart from I am very impressed with what I have purchased and like I have said from the very beginning it
simply works.

NEd how is the vapor and the throat hit on the screwdriver? I have a janty classic and a 901 e-cig. THe 901 produces ok vapor, however there is no throat kick, and I have tried lots of different e-liquids, I am waiting for the one from pillbox, hopfully this one makes my 901 better. On the other hand the janty classic makes good vapor with the manual switch and it gives u a nice throat hit. Does the screwdriver makes more vapor than this two e-cigs and does it give you a good throat kick? Well, let me know because I am interested in this device. I am assuming the screwdriver produces the same amount of vapor as the 901 since it uses the same atomizer. I do not belive a bigger battery is going to make more vapor, yea it may last longer, but that will be it. Thanks

If you read the thread on trogs screwdriver review by kit it will give you the answers you want from me find my posts there and you will see what I have said.

It does produce more vapour than the kiss box classic even with only using a 901 atomiser which I know sounds odd if you have a kiss box but it also produces more vapour than the pipe. I personally own five Janty kiss box classics and three pipes plus loads of 901 s plus loads more electronic cigarettes and cigars.

It has a constant good kick like the kiss box with no problems at all but please read all of the posts I made on the other thread which kit started and I think this will convince you how I feel this has performed. The higher strength liquid like 36 will improve the normal 901 anyway but still will not perform as good as the screwdriver

Ned thanks for your response. About how long do the 901 atomizers last, and where can I get them cheap? I only smoke when I drink and that is every weekend. Somethimes I smoke a pack or a little bit more of real cigarettes on weekends. During weekdays I do not smoke at all. I owend the janty classic and the 901 e-cigarette I like them both, however I have not been able to stay off real cigarettes.. I will be happy if I can buy an e-cig that produces lots of vapor constantly and gives my a good throat hit. the janty classic gives me a good throat hit but the vapor drops a little every now and then. THe 901 makes good vapor too, but there is no throat hit as there is with the janty. You say that the 901 atomizers behaves different with the screwdriver battery and manual switch.. Can you please tell me the difference between the 901 and the screwdriver besides the battery life. I am talking about constant vapor production and throat hit. It seems to me that the 901 and the screwdriver are the same thing exept that the screwdriver has a longer battery life. Besides this what is the difference? oh yea I forgot about the manual switch. Does the manual switch makes more vapor? Well, thanks again Ned for your response.

What you have to realise is that I have only been using the screwdriver for just over a week now. So how long the atomiser will last I don't know as to yet Time will tell. But the atomiser that came provided with the screwdriver is still performing very well.

You tend to get more vapour and more throat hit by using a manual switch and that's where the Janty kiss box is known for. So putting a manual switch on the screwdriver brings the 901 atomiser to life producing more kick and producing more vapour than using the normal 901 version. Plus this gives you constant vapour and kick by having a manual switch.

So it's not just the battery. A part of the key to all of this is a manual switch that helps produces constant vapour and kick and that's why there's only a few devices with manual switch that produce this type of performance.

So I hope by this you will now get my drift. Regarding cheap atomiser thats something I will have to shop around for as I've been using mainly pen style atomiser is till now.

hey trog just had a thought when looking at the pic of the screwdriver, whats the chances of knocking the switch when carrying it around? if that is a problem is there something you can design to work around this (perhaps have the switch sit inside the casing a bit more so the casing would block anything from pushing the switch. just an idea i thought of cause being me i would no doubt knock the switch a fair bit when carrying it around with me. other alternative would be to design a case for it (might be a bit far fetched i know) so then you wouldnt have any problems with it, and it would be protected from any knocks. as i've been reading the threads about the screwdriver i've noticed a few people being very protective so to let you know i'm not saying i think the screwdriver is sh*t or anything. i think its one of the best e-cigs i've seen. looks somewhat futuristic and from what i've read it rocks. cant wait to get the funds together to get one though. keep it up trog i'll let ya know as soon as i can order one.:thumb:

i wont get broke.. it might be possibly to kinda wedge it in your pocket so as its permanently switched on.. kit will know more about this than me by the sounds of it... he he

it cant be recessed because of the ergonomics.. a small push on end cap would be an option.. i havnt had problems when its in my pocket.. but i havnt really had it in there much..
