My friend and i did side by side comparisons.

I have 2 Serpent tanks;
1st tank has Kanthal wire. Power Mode.
2nd tank has SS 430. TC Mode.

Both tanks have Rayon wicks, both have twisted 4 strand 28g wire, 5 wraps, 3.2mm...see pics in earlier posts.

juice; Crazy Froops 3mg. 80vg/20pg

Mods that were used in the test;
RX200 and SX Mini ML.

Mod settings;
Power Mode; 35w
TC Mode; 32J, 350F, TCR 0.00138.

We have come to same conclusion;
Kanthal; juice tastes more citrusy.
SS430; juice tastes more fruity/ sweeter.

Hope that helps for some of you to tune your flavor to your liking.

Nice looking coil KGB7!

Thanks, but that was my first attempt at making a twisted wire out of SS430 and it didnt come out as even as it should have.

Ones you get it right, the twisted wire seems like a single strand that was twisted and not a multiple strands twisted together. Its hard to describe it unless you see it in person. The result varies by a mile vs Kanthal. The pic doesnt do its justice. You have to see it in person to really see the strands fused together as one.

How would you guys rate the vapor production and airflow of the Serpent, compared to a modern dual coil tank, such as the Crius or Bellus?

Im interested in the Serpent, but only if it could provide a comparable vaping experience to the dual coil tanks in my rotation.

I know that it's single coil vs dual,..... but, the airflow looks huge on the Serpent, and Im curious if it could be built to vape similar to a dual.
I got a Bellus and HATED it.

No experience with the other.

I've posted about the Serpent on the other rta threads but people just shrug it off cause it's single coil.

I tell them they would be surprised!!

I'm a single coil kind of guy.

Liked the Kayfun rock the GMini in single coil mode, and rocked the Orchid V3 and my Silverplay in single coil mode by tightly plugging the unused juice wells with tightly packed cotton. Never had either flood.

KGB7, it looks like snake wire for the Serpent! LOL Yes, the learning curve is interesting at least. I put a SS 316L, 26g in mine for a few days. I vaped it in power mode. Ramp time was faster than lightening. Then I put it in another atty and vaped in TC mode. Much better than in power mode in my opinion.

I finally got my Serpent. So far so good for a single coil. Flavor is great and so is vapor production. I keep switching between my Aromamizer and my Serpent. Both are which awesome atomizers. The Serpent is by far the best single coil RTA I have used. It was a little pain in the .... to build a single 24g clapton on but I got this thing rocking at 60 watts.

Couldn't agree more JStrong! I am really impressed with the Serpent...a great single coil atty!

Nice Highwayman! I will probably order my second one next week. Also looking for a good new TC mod. Dual 18650. Been reading up on the Realeaux200, but seeing some mixed reviews. Course everything has mixed reviews in the vape world.
I love my rx200! Haven't used it in temp mode yet, but nichrome 80 & kanthal builds are really nice on it. For as cheap as they are, I say go for it!

I haven't had any issues with it wicking, but I've only done about 3 builds. I kind of do a hybrid of Mike Vapes and Todd where a little is going down and a little on the lip.

Anyways one of the best, if not the best youtube reviewer just made a video of the Serpent with building too. I haven't seen it yet because I wanted to post it here right away.

I've had my stainless Serpent for about 2-2 1/2 weeks. Just changed out the original 26ga twisted coil of my first build and replaced it with a fused Clapton...26ga kanthal with 36ga nichrome wrap that I spun up myself (((pats own back))) .44 ohms and the tank continues to perform very nicely. It's not 100% perfect, but what rta is????

Satisfying flavor and clouds, just a nice vaping experience.

Well the honeymoon is over on the Serpent for me. I wicked this thing perfect. Filled up the tank and vaped all the liquid. Then refilled and boom another tank gone. The third time I fill up I closed the juice control and next thing I know I got all of my Cosmic Fog Shocker running out the air holes all over my hands and mod. Anybody else have this problem? Not sure what made it leak on the 3rd fill

This has been an on going saga for me. I love this tank but I've yet to find a way to fill it without having it leak a little from the air holes. The best I've been able to accomplish is to minimize the leak. I close the juice flow open the top fill to the top of the large chimney section (about half way). Stop and open the juice flow about 1 turn then finish filling with juice to the top. Close it up and that's it. You'll still get a tiny amount initially around the air holes but no where near the 1ml I had pouring out before. That's the best I've been able to do with it.

I wonder what would happen if you fill it then turn it upside down with the top fill cap barely catching then screw the top fill cap in to push some air out? (kinda burping it) I hate losing ml of juice. I tried putting more wick in the channels but I got this nasty burnt hit. It only seems to hit good when I got a half and half mixture of wick in the channel and the other half on the deck.

I get absolutely zero leaking on a fill. What I do is close the juice control, open the top cap, and fill. Invert, and hold upside down until the juice has drained to the bottom.....juice feed holes are not covered anymore. May take 30 seconds or so with thick juice. While still inverted, I open the juice control and turn it right side up. Never had any leaking at all filling this way. I don't close the AFC either.

Have experimented with a few wicking techniques and stumbled on the video below a few days ago. This wicking method has been solid for me and doesn't seem to get moved out of position when you spin the juice control.

Favorite. Tank. Ever!
