That's the problem with "quality control"... if I had just ordered one, I would have either praised it (the black one) or cursed it as a POS (the silver one) I wonder how many other people go through this with other RTAs.
Other than that small issue, everything else about these were good quality (and super clean)

Yeah I normally avoid black mods as much as I can more because I can't see the juice level but I did also get a Vapefly Galaxies in black and it was utterly FOUL for some reason. I think it may be easier to associate black with cursing (for me.)

In any case I almost ALWAYS get SS because there is no paint possibility and it's usually cheaper (why NO I DO not need to pay 5 bucks more for gold paint, thank you.)

Who knows. I also HATE the taste of gun metal. This has been nearly universal for me, it's got to be a taste tic because I am the only one who says so.

Well yes, working is the main thing. I'd say I'd be surprised if one color worked better than the other but I don't 'actually know.

I do know the copper tesla steampunk nano had a reputation for the battery doors being The Worst of all of them due to the softness of the metal, so IDK.

I only have the SS so no comparison.

It came with an extra top seal... I'll try it but this has been an issue since day 1. I've decided to go ahead and take it all apart (if possible to remove deck) I hate mysteries... I must know if there is an o-ring down there.
Now that I'm looking for a RDL RTA, I've decided it must be top air and one that doesn't leak!

Honestly, I think top air pretty much blows. I have one top air RTA and the vape is simply not as good.

Most leaks can be figured out, unless something terrible happened in the factory IDK.. But even if that's the case, well, IDK don't decide to restrict yourself to top air only. I mean I have had a coupe and they are a MAJOR PITA for me. Get a Precio, OMG get a PRECIO. Get a Nature True tank. There are so many good bottom air options out there. I SUCK at building and I pretty much like, use RTAs with bottom air. The only ones I won't take out of the house are the ones I am afraid the glass will break surfing around in my purse,. But none of them leak (unless I break the tank glass, which becomes rather unfortunate even though they have their separate compartment in my purse.

My mistake folks... no extra top cap seal (I was thinking of another RTA I have) I did look at the extra o-rings and there are 4 small ones (about the size of the chamber cap) so I assume there are 2 for the chamber cap and two for the deck (to seal bottom of chamber) I'll post later when I tear it apart (hopefully that wasn't a metaphor)

I finally got around to taking the Silverplay apart. After removing the POS part of deck (by loosening the center pin of 510) the rest of the deck just pulls out (standard "pull and twist") There are 2 0-rings... seems like one to hold the deck in and one for the bottom of the chamber to seal (same size) It was fine (as was the chamber cap o-ring) That is why there are 4 of these o-rings in the "extras" bag. haven't put it back together yet... just giving you all a quick update. Meanwhile, my other one is doing fine (go figure?)

Ange, this thing is very new and has had issues since day one. It leaks from the airflow slot at the bottom (I should have explained that) and the top is a wide "washer" type seal.
Make sure your juice flow coincides with the diameter of your coil and wick tails. If you let too much juice pass by your tails you will get leakage. On the contrary, if you choke off your wick tails too much you'll get dry hits.

I just watched two video reviews (again... Grimm Green and Matt SMM) and both mentioned an o-ring in the deck that holds the chamber. Just took it apart, rinsed and dried it. I don't really want to remove the coil (it's still almost new) but if anyone knows if there is a way to remove the deck, I'll remove the coil (just to see if there is an o-ring and if it's messed up) Going to wait... hopefully someone has an answer for me (some of you said there is no o-ring?)
DJLsb Vapes has a good video as well. He disassembles everything, as he usually does, and mentions an inside diameter o-ring that seals the barrel to the deck. If you don't have one that would be a quality control issue. It should be there.

He is very thorough. I already mentioned I finally took it apart and all is well (o-rings are all fine) Main issue is the top cap is loose (even with new seal) My other one fits tighter and works fine (vaping it right now with a strawberry kiwi custard)

Finally got it right. No leaks. I closed the airflow for the first fill (only enough to cover the wick tails) Opened airflow and vaped it awhile then covered the airflow with my finger and filled it some more (still not all the way) I wicked it with rayon (3mm coil) and closed down the juice slots a bit. It's doing fine (almost with it would wick better but at least it doesn't leak... at all) Sitting overnight will be the real test (that's when I had the most issues) Using 70VG/30PG juice.

I've been busy doing lots of DIY stuff (mostly for my regular MTL tanks) so haven't touched the RTAs for days. Picked up the silver one (had a paper towel just in case) and it leaked a bunch from the airflow. Then I checked the black one and it leaked too (just not as much) Oh well... might just get more RDAs (or try top air RTAs)
