Your talkin about the regular smoktech cartos mwa. This thread is on the dual coils. Smoktech has a full line of products, but the dual coils are what is making them rich.

As far as I know, there are only 3 versions of the dual coils out atm: 1.5 ohm, 1.25 ohm, and clear. There is a +/- .2 ohm acceptable varriance on them.

Would be nice if they would chain up 2 of their 5 ohm cartos to give us a 2.5, that would be absolutely fantastic other then the problem of trying to find a mod that will put out 10 volts to max them out. haha.

At least three or four people have said there is a 2.0 and a 2.5. Now I sort of wish I had followed some links to see if they were mistaken about the 2.0 and 2.5 being dual coils, but I wasn't interested. I suppose I would be interested in a 2.0 to 2.5 if I vaped at 7.4v. The good thing about the DCs happens to be the amount of watts they can generate without burning or shorting, so I don't really think there's a whole lot of reason for higher ohms except to make them work on amp limited devices.

Edit - sure enough. Nhaler has 2.0 and 2.5

I seen at nhaler they do have the higher ohm duals i sent Andrew at ccv a pm to see if he is gonna get some.I think this would be of interest to allot of people out here some are having issues on there mods protection not wanting to run them.My provaris can run them up to 4.2v but i would also like to see higher ohms think it's less stress on mod batteries and not as hot.

Yesterday I took my first dual coil apart. It made it two days but was starting to perform poorly. The outer filler material had two brown burn marks. The wicking material that was wrapped around the coil had two spots where it was burned all the way through. That explained why it was performing poorly since juice had a harder time juice getting wicked to the coils. I was using this on a Silver Bullet at 3.7v. I also alternate hits between two devices so one doesn't get too hot. I'm pretty sure it was always topped off. So much for these not burning.

So much for these not burning.

Your definition of burning and mine are probably different. The material around the coils is a paper of some sort and not a surprise if it gets damaged. It being damaged before the filler started to swell out to the coils is unusual, but not impossible. Normally the filler is swollen and nearly touching the coils by the time the paper gives up. I've dissected about a dozen or so DCs so far and all but the ones that came with a bad coil had damaged the paper to varying degrees.

So, did you get a big hit of nasty burnt filler taste? Or is your definition of burning a carto more relaxed than mine and includes not getting burnt filler taste?

No burnt taste. I was kind of surprised when I saw the material being burned through since I didn't taste anything. The material around the coils seemed the same as the outer filler material.

That's different and actually that's what I expected to find when I started cutting some of them apart. I have some ordered that should be newer than the first bunch I got. I'll try to remember to cut a couple of those open and see if the manufacturing process changed a little. Good that you didn't get that bad taste, though. That is the very thing that has kept me from using cartos and the very first thing I liked about the DCs - no burnt filler taste no matter how hot I get them.

Ive had 1 dc going for a week at 6 mil a day and it still performs well although a little tighter draw. Iv'e tried just about every thing that's come out or rebuilt e-2s and atties for over a year and these are by far the best all around vape going. Hell, I even get 10 minutes out of a old blu battery sitting in the junk drawer. These dc's will work well on any battery. One week + for $2.00 buckaroos how can you go wrong after all the money we spent on other xxxsxxxxhxxxxixxxxt.

I've gone through at least seven of the dualies and the longest one lasted me was 5 days. For, me after 3 days vapor production goes down significantly and the flavor drops off too much. I haven't found a bad one yet. They just don't last as long as my ikenvape cartos.

YMMV

I'm not a carto vaper, but these are one of the best tasting/vapor production so far as I've tried... i have Iken Fusions too.

The DC just don't work well on my Vari, and i have one on an eGo (my only backup pv)...

sorry if this is a side track but, I wonder if the Iken Fusion works better on the Vari?

I could give it a try, but haven't yet because i am so used to dripping... any heads up ?

Iken's will burn juice when turned up too high, just like all the other non dual coils. That is what finnaly turned me off on cartos all together, that God forsaken burnt tire taste. There are higher ohm versions being released now uke. Even 2.5 ohm versions that will work fantastic on a Vari.

Same here.
I've run over 6ml of fluid through my Duallie not including the initial fill. Flavor is still very good, vapor production hasn't dropped, but correct that the draw has gotten a lil harder. That I can't figure since that center hole is still wide open, but I'm far from complaining.

nbourbaki.
Only reason I can figure for your duallies going bad as fast as they are is your fluid choice. I know a few I've used are straight out carto killers. Especially Johnson Creek VG Dark Chocolate, which will kill a carto in one filling. I've thinned it down (30% which is excessive) with vodka, and gotten longer life, but I've put that fluid aside. Love it...hard on carto's
