Down the rabbit hole..
The only thing I didn't do was let it soak like you did and in retrospect maybe I should have. It's all ok now because I don't get that metalic taste anymore but that may have made it easier on me. The next ones will get the soak treatment for sure.
Thanks for the prompt reply Riverwolf. I too cannot believe how good these are and they have become my only 306 atty if you can call it that. I still like my Cisco LR 510's but it is so nice to have a variety on my Woodvil. Of course I've always got my "ancient" prototype 801 native Woodvil sitting on my coffee table for the in-between times.

Angler you'll find if you put the condom on the thread end and fill it with juice and let it sit upright for at least 30 min ...I let mine sit a little longer...that
it allows the mesh to soak up the juice and you won't get that metal taste!....It greatly reduces your break in time also....:thumb:

Just received three 2Ω BFs. Took the condom off one, and the coil is not wrapped around the wick. It's just sorta loose and wild and the wick is naked lol - checked the other 2, and while they're not wrapped the same way, they look functional. Grabbed one of these to test, metered 2.0 exactly (yes, I take lead resistance into account). Seated the post, gave it about 10 drops and a few minutes.

Screwed onto REO Grand (AW IMR 18650), unscrewed and examined all gaskets, etc. Looks good to me, slap her back on and hit the button for a short primer puff. Inhaled the next one, a short 2 second drag, worried about shorting the mod lol - what I got was the most freely drawing hit of my vaping career. Very very airy, which I like, though some may not. I really hope it doesn't tighten up in 2 days like all my other 306 (I have Cisco, IKV, Bauway, and Joye).

I have NOT broken it in yet, it's been literally 10 minutes, and I'm very pleased with it - which is saying a lot, as I've been known to vape at 20+ watts..

Bummer about the defective one, I'll see about getting a replacement. I think a quick visual inspection of each atty before shipping would be smart.

TLDR: 2Ω BF on REO, no short, great TH, airy draw. Real nice imo.

I hate to hear about the bum ones, but glad you got some good ones. :)

I really like the Hybrids too. Great tasting atomizer.

As long as you don't torque it down on the mod, you will be fine.
Over tightening is the culprit with these attys.

If you got it straight from Vapage, they will replace the defective one.
COV will do the same, if you got it from there.

Yes, as AG said, don't tighten that atty anymore than you have to in order to make contact. You might get away with it a few times but it will smash the gasket between positive and negative and it will short. I have done that with adaptors on my Woodvil and I got away with it a few times before it shorted.

That is a very good idea. I was going to start soaking them anyway because of the advice I got earlier but I didn't want to sit there for an extended period of time and not be able to hit my Woodvil. The way you do it I can just vape away while letting the other soak. Thank you violetvoo!

And, if you soak (break in) the atty this way, if there is any juice remaining in the condom, just toss it on the atty at some point.

Well alrighty then, I just insanely cleaned the gunk out, soaked the bad girl...for a while, primed it, vaped a lil...finally vaped like a champ yet again without a hiccup.

Mine are still humming along too. :)

When you buy from Vapage.com they cost $7.64 apiece after the discount (vapin15). It's a lot of atomizer for the price. :2c:

Apparently I didn't ruin the atty. I suppose I just didn't get it wet enough after the cleaning. Vaping like a champ and tastes great to boot.

I'm definitely going to purchase some more. I have quite a few Boge and Joye atomizers I need to go through before I do though. Hopefully all the little kinks will have been worked through by then.
