I was planning on sprucing up my Prodigy V1 tube with a Gelaskin cover... already ordered an iPod Touch cover that'd do it. It would be cool to have the tubes already done in different colors or designs, but if you're craving a new look for your PV, that's maybe a place to start, for about $20 and a little skill with an X-Acto knife. (I may never get to do it now, looks like my beloved is going to inherit my V1 and he'll probably prefer the standard black to the battery-themed piece I found at Gelaskin.)

Shan! Do you know what the dimensions were on the gelaskin cover? Sounds like a good idea ... May be able to find someone locally that can do decals to customize like such :)

Black Oxide ....... where do I send my money.

Another vote for black oxide...

Will

Haha ... Let me check the conductive properties of it guys. If we do go black oxide, it will likely be the entire unit (tube/adapter/end cap) ... That is, if it needs to be capped/plugged to keep threads clean. will send off 5 tubes to see how it comes out!

There's a company called B&M Finisher in Jersey that does a Prismatic effect on Stainless. Looks cool and expensive.

.

The problem with anodizing is the fact it scratches so easily. I would hate to send 500 tubes to Jersey, then see half of them come back scratched, etc.... .... You also see way more pin holes, etc... The photos and pictures they have of their work are mighty impressive though! I wish our local Nashville anodizer did quality work like them :(

I like the gelaskin idea, was thinking about the same thing with a vinyl sticker (and i think vinyl stickers are cheaper). Also what about a rubberized sheath that just slides over, like an iphone skin? Then you could have multiple colors to mix and match, although it might make it a lil tougher to slide in and out of your pocket. Maybe I'll try some of this stuff Plasti Dip Protective Rubber Dip Coating Product – Plasti Dip International and dip my extra protege in and see what happens. Although it might be an expensive experiment, don't know if I'm willing to risk my protege!

Matte Black. that would be the ultimate. That's what I miss most about smoking. no real use for my matte black zippo :(

I am a Zippo collector..I like the designs on the shiny metal. I have way too many of them, and if I quit smoking analogs, I'm not sure what I'll collect.

This might just be the new hobby I need

My plan is do a paint or decal job on mine when it gets here. I'm not a fan of silver. Black is #1 for me (damn Harley guys are SO predictable!)

I'm entertaining the notion of taking a Harley bumper sticker that has a shiny black finish and cutting a piece that has a small Harley logo and wrapping it around the tube - cutting out the switch hole. Then I'll put some of that clear skin stuff I put on my iPhone around it for scratch protection. It'll look like a custom Harley logo paint job.

Bonus is that if it didn't work out I could peel off the sticker and with some Goo Gone, be back to stock.
