It may sound goofy, but you have to put it in your mind that vaping is all you have, and cigarettes do not exist. After a while you start believing it. Packs of cigarettes just become objects behind the counter at the gas station, and you start looking to see what ecigs they are selling now. You can no longer say "Well, if I run out of juice or gear, I will have to buy a pack!" No, not any more. Even if you have to buy a disposable at the gas station until you get to the vape shop, or your vape mail arrives, you can do that. Vape shops are popping up everywhere, and if you can go on a computer, have a debit or credit card, even a reloadable card (for those of us who hate banks) you can purchase from a vendor online. Cigarettes are no longer relevant.

Hi Worzel. Welcome to the thread. You bring up a good point there. There are many, many reasons that we all smoked. I am coming to the realization that there may be just as many ways to stop smoking. I have tried all the acceptable ways put forward by the doctors and drug companies. None worked. I got hypnotized and went to a hospital sponsored quit smoking seminar. Nope again. Tried cold turkey and all the self help, self talk I could think up.

For me, the vaping worked. I do believe that a lot of people do have to make up their minds that they will not have a cigarette or buy cigarettes. Flip off that switch. I was able to just use a combination of equipment and nic level that did satisfy my physical cravings for nicotine. So I did not crave a cigarette physically.

I did do major mental battles with the nicotine and cigarette devil. I still do battle on occasion. So far I am successful in not smoking. A friend here says that she is just one cigarette away from smoking a pack. I am in the same place. One cigarette and I am going to be on a tear.

I am very glad that you came here and posted. Please come back and chat. I would love to hear what equipment you are using and what liquids are doing the job for you. We are always interested in what works for other people. It is how we grow.

I am using a combination of Vision Spinners, MVP2 and a Provari. I use mainly 510 attys to drip. I recently started using an Igo-L and just received a Russian 91% that I am trying to garner up the courage to take apart and build a coil for.

Shari, how is that Igo - L working for you? Has it replaced your 510 drippers yet? If you can make a coil for that you shouldn't have any problem with the Russian. (assuming you can get all the pieces back together) ;)

I like certain things about the Igo-L and dislike others. I like that it has a good sized deck and the posts are big enough for me to access fairly easily. Makes it easier for me to mount a coil. I like the screw heads better than the little hand turned screws on my other rda. I like the flavor and that it holds 8-10 drops at a time.

I do not like that the airhole on the outside lets my juice run out freely if I tip it or lay my device down. Real PITA. And it figures that the way the threading on it and the threading on my provari mini puts the air hole on the side that tips towards me, so it is more likely that I tip it and it leaks while I vape. All I have to do is turn the provari so I press the button with my thumb instead of my forefinger, but that little concession burns me up. And I do not remember to do it, almost never.

My 18mg juice is too strong for the Igo-L I think. I get a little sore throat and discomfort high in my lungs. I am trying 12mg in it now and we will see if that is low enough. I love the Caramel Pear Black Tea in it, but the Smooth Criminal tobacco seems stronger than in my 510 attys.

So, when I overdose on all the vapor and flavor of the Igo-L, I go back to my 510 attys for my 'normal' vape experience, which I still enjoy.

I am hoping that 12mg is going to work. If it does not I have recently bought a lot of juice that will have to be cut to lower nic or not vaped in an RBA. We will see.

Over all I am loving the coil building and Igo-L experience. I almost bought two more I saw in the classys but decided it would be overkill. You know me, need lots of backups. lol

Thank you for the warm welcome here! I have a confession to make. After vaping for almost 2 and a half years, I had a rotten night at work St. Patrick's Day, and bummed a smoke off of a coworker. Man! It was awful! I wanted to toss my cookies after the third drag! I ate lemon peels to get rid of the taste! I wanted to do something stupid to switch my mind off of my horrible night (I'm a waitress). I could have had a drink (quit that for 6 years) but I had to drive home. I was ready to quit my job. The cigarette worked. I was more focused on washing that taste out of my mouth, than I was worried about my crappy night. My hubby asked me about my night, and I told him "I smoked. Nuff said." I confirmed it. I no longer smoke. The smell makes my stomach turn after that experience!

I started vaping with, originally, no intention of quitting the coffin nails. It was to make a mockery of my old job's smoking policy. Went through the whole shift with vape breaks in the bathroom, and decided on the way home that I could just keep going with that.

No real battles until I started my new job. EVERYBODY there smokes! Of course, I get stranded on the floor watching sections while they are outside smoking. Can't complain to the owner. He smokes too. Some of them think my vaping is really cool, some think it is just silly. Pffffffft! Whatevah! After my St. Patty's slip up, to Hell with what they think.

I started on Blu, we know how that goes. Went to Volcano Inferno, bridgeless atomizers, and on to mechanicals with carto tanks. I got an ITaste VTR that I use out of the house, and a Kato Hammer clone with an Aqua Clone tank, and some RDA's that I use in the house. I am ready to replace my IClear 30s with a RDA. I started building coils not too long ago, not going sub-ohm anytime soon, but happy with single coils and cotton. I have been ordering VG juice from Velvet Vapors. 12 mg nic, but am making the jump to DIY VG zero nic. Wizard Labs flavors. I cut my 12 mg juice in half to 6mg, been vaping that since my St. Patty's meltdown, and start my homebrew tomorrow. The problem I have with stepping down on nicotine are VERY VIVID nightmares! I got those when I started vaping at 24 mg nic, then when I went down to 12 mg. They do go away, once my brain gets used to it.

Vaping, in a nutshell, is not as easy as I thought. It is trial and error, changing technology, finding the right flavors, right strengths, dealing with odd withdrawal symptoms when quitting the stinkies, then when stepping down on nicotine, but I feel better this way, than any other way!

Sometimes it is a good thing to have that breakout cigarette, if for no other reason than to reaffirm that you ARE no longer a smoker. I do not think I have heard of more than a couple of people that have enjoyed or thought that that cigarette tasted good.

You are going to get on real fine in this thread. We have a few of us that build our own coils. I am brand new at it; I have only built 4 or 5 so far. Some were successful, some not. I have still not hit my ohms target so I am in novice mode. Same with my cotton ball wicks but changing a wick is a piece of cake so that is not a biggie. For me, it is finding the right coil/wick combo to get the great vape I know is achievable.

We also have a handful of DiY juice makers here, so lots of flavor talk. You will be able to bounce off ideas and what works and does not. And willing test subjects. :D Have you been over to the DIY section. There is a lot of good information and recipes over there. I bought and was gifted some material to start DIY but got bitten hard by the RBA bug. So until I get the RBA stuff down pat I am putting the DIY juice making career on hold. Unless I have to start cutting down my stash to lower the nic so I can vape it in my RBAs.

We also do talk about our struggles and joys regarding vaping and smoking. The people here range from not smoking at all to some who smoke daily or almost daily while vaping. We do not judge. What works for one may not work for another. But we throw it out there in case it may help someone struggling. Sometimes hearing the same trick or tip the 101st time is the time it clicks for you.

And then we also do our fair share of pissing and moaning, or complaining, if you prefer polite talk. I like to complain about the stupidest things. Like my bra is too tight or why do I have to be nice to the cable company after I am put on hold for an hour and they want to charge me a service charge when they come out to fix something They screwed up. Fun stuff.

Make yourself comfortable and hang out with us for a while. I am the resident vampire/night owl. Karen is usually here late at night too.

Im also normally here late. have been having a spell of insomnia and staying up until 9am the last few nights. i try to go to bed (and still surf from my phone..) at 5am at the latest.

i used my aqua today. went through 2ml of juice about 4x faster than i normally do. had a few leaks from when i was trying to adjust the air flow and unscrewed it too far and caused a leak. also not sure of dual coils yet. i liked it but maybe another flavor will make it pop for me. also need some better batteries. the ones i have are good for my regulated mods that i dont do low ohms on.. but only having a set of 18500 batteries that has the capability to safely use the dual coils as they are set is bugging me.

The Russian doesn't have that many small parts.. I think the biggest difference will be catching the wire and the legs going in opposite directions.

Exactly, Shari, check out the video for the aga-t by pbusardo where he does 2 different style Genny builds. Easy to build, just fiddly about hot spots, but he pretty much explains that too.

Most of the little parts normally stay together unless you're cleaning it.

Part of the leaking is over-dripping and yes the tipping with the Provari.

As far as the chest hurting with 18mg, what's your pg/vg ratio and do you lung hit or mouth hit the Igo? I had to drop from 24 to 18mg but what hurt my throat was normally a higher pg (above 20%) and changing that made the difference

Seriously, 18650 Sony vtc4's if your mod can use them. Otherwise look at the amp draw and always get a battery with higher amps then you need.

Howard Forums used to be good. My last visit it was nearly empty. Where did everyone go?

I'm a moderator on several forums about phones. I used to eat, sleep, breath, etc that stuff.
If you want to know about jail break, Apple locks it back down with every update.
If you're looking for a new phone are you determined to stay with ios or looking elsewhere also? Who's your carrier?

NoteToo

Thx. I'm on an old SERO plan with Sprint (employee plan). So I'm pretty stuck with them. I do want to lock in another contract. I get everything free and unlimited. I've had friends who have given up computers because of the iphone. I wasn't sure I'd do the same but it would be nice to have that available if needed. I tend to use more data than phone time. This phone does take decent pics. I also luv the touchscreen paint and photoshop programs. It's my main camera. So I need the storage.

The last update almost turned my phone into a brick anyway. I should have taken it in for that too.

My broadband sux and it's easy for a phone, even on 3G or EVO to be faster. This phone isn't. I'm in areas that show covered by LTE too. I really needed a back up. I've heard the 5s does all networks with automatic switching. The 5c you have to manually switch???

This one won't roam; some "service tender" or "logo rythm" error. Device problem. Took to sprint, then Apple who said it was fine and now Sprint says it's not. Now it's out of warrenty. Really ticked. It's 64gb 4s. Not cheap. I REALLY needed a phone that can coordinate my life.

I had a nightmare with Blackberry, largely do to compatabilty issues. They said compatable with Mac and that's BS. It was almost a full time job. Couldn't do media of any kind. Worthless pics. Still can't get stuff out of the thing. HATED, HATED, HATED it. Rim deserves to die.

I can kill a pc in seconds from getting into areas I shouldn't be in. That's my fear of Linux too. Apple tends to have easy work arounds for restrictions, rarely compatabitlity issues, no virus trojan stuff. Media is great. I can be brain dead. So I'm kinda sold.

I don't have time for fiddling or figuring phone stuff out, which is why this phone went out of warrenty without a fix.

Ideally, I'd like Apple to replace this phone. The store is stuffy and stuckup (typical). There's only one store in town. Sprint stores are useless, tech is ok but Sprint won't replace an Apple device that's not their fault. That's a hard line.

I had one friend who worked with At&t support move to Samsung and hated it. Couldn't wait to get back to ios. That was a clue.

I tend to hold on to phones for years - if they work. My old Sanyo "dumb phone" did more and was easy peasy to work with. Used the crap out of it for everything for over 6 years. Faster than broadband with 3G/EVO. Data was over 80%. Read the news, watched Youtube, sent pics, calendar, ringtones, pics and vids were good just too small, dowloaded, biggest hassle was limited storage to 4gb on a sd card. That's what I was hoping to replace. 64GB is easy to fill.

I'm long winded. sorry. Just frustrated.

Rim deserves to die.

Storage.. you can open a free dropbox account (online storage) and sync your photos to it, then move the photos as needed. i have all of my phone media backed up to both dropbox (im sitting at 250gb of space that was all free, im a freebie ....... if there is promotion i can do to get something free i typically do it.) and google drive. i had a hard drive utterly fail me in high school that i did not have a backup of. had my end of term paper on it. teacher paid to have the drive professionally recovered. they could not recover my music or term paper. that was when i started making backups and backups of my backups on separate storage mediums. normally i store online in at least 2 places, then have a copy on a flash drive somewhere in my house. i was sad when megaupload closed. i had ALOT of my pictures of my child uploaded there, but it wasnt my only backup so i wasnt worried about loosing them. EDIT: i swear i used formatting! i promise! somehow it stripped my formatting and spacing.

Yes vaping the higher nic on RDA didn't hurt my throat or chest it hurt my head and gave me quite the buzz, in short it made me a bit nic sick and was the perfect excuse to cut my nicotine level down. I can vape 12 mg even on my two dual coil setups, yes I got another RDA, but my goal is to get at least close to 0 nic.

I lost my mind completely Friday, heard that the Red Copper JD Stingray was being released at Vaperev at 11:00 am pdt and they had a very very few that would be available online. They only made 1000 of them and aren't going to make any more, Cliff was sitting here driving me crazy talking non stop about the race car motor. I said to myself self you aren't going to get one anyway why not play and try, well I actually managed to click at all the right times and got one.

I'm a sucker for pretty shiny copper or rose gold anything, my favorite pieces of jewelry are rose gold and the ring I wear all the time is Black Hills Gold, a gold band with rose gold and green gold grape leaves.

I have officially entered the ranks of mod collector, lol, with two limited edition authentic mods. This absolutely has to be IT, no more mods unless I happen to win one. I keep telling myself that it's worth it if it keeps me from smoking, but there is a limit. lol

How do you get more drop box storage? I've got photos there now. Just don't trust it. I used to have tb's of music and movies backed up to Rapidshare (paid monthly) and Mediafire. I had my backup drive fail and then my hard drive died 4 days later. That was the SECOND time I'd lost everything! Then Rapidshare and Mediafire got checked for copyrighted stuff whether it's shared or not, didn't matter. A-holes. I need to backup my backups. I still lost a lot of impossible to replace stuff. I was running a music blog at the time focusing on out of print, obscure stuff. Non commercial. Turns out that's the stuff they targeted the most. Grrrrr. Anyway, those backups on line really saved me. I hated seeing that option dissapear (and don't think it should).

Have you been following MU's case? I thought there was an opening to get stuff back, but not sure. That's been a disaster for the US. What a joke. Imagine taking down a multi-million dollar biz, with swat teams, for nothing. "Racketeering" was an ad buy for their new music distribution. FBI caught tampering evidence. It'll never see court. Spooky stuff. Then the Schwartz tragedy. That's enough for me. I dropped out. Sad.

So where are the phone boards now?

The main difference between getting this mod and the lottery is I have to pay for this. LOL
There will be pics when it arrives.

I luv black hills gold. Is that a mod or a piece of jewelry?
Amost like winning the lottery. Pics are expected. Congrats!
