I need a kick in the ..... Would you believe that I have done exactly what I always said I would not do. Noooo. Not me. Yup.

I now own Provarii Mini and I am building coils. Just started. I know I swore I would not. But the supplier for my cheap 510 attys is no longer carrying them and I won't pay over $5 for one atty. And my evods are obsolete with all the new versions of heads and clearos coming out and those are lots more money. So I broke down and bought the Provari Mini and a rebuildable tank atty, the Russian. Thing holds 4.5mls of juice. But of course I bought the brand new version that is no good. There may be a fix down the road. Bah!

So I guess I am evolving. Or growing. Or going crazy. You can know for sure that I have been spending more money than I want to. But I am not smoking. Not a one. So it is working for me.

EVODs shouldn't be obsolete just yet! As far as I understand, the Protank 3 will still take the heads from Protank 1, 2, EVOD. The old just won't take the new. We should still have prebuilt heads for a while now.

Lori, you are truly a sweetheart. When I found out that my 510 attys were not going to be available anymore I bought a stash of them to last me for over a year if that is all I ever use. So, since I have decided to 'grow' and get an RBA and build coils, that 1 year stash is probably now good for 2 or more years. They will always be a part of my vaping kit because I know when nothing else works these little attys will get the job done.

With my short and limited experience with evods and heads and now the Russian and Igo-L and building coils, I know that sometimes stuff fails or does not work right. Not every coil I build vapes good and the cotton balls have a mind of their own sometimes. My 510 attys are steady and consistently a good vape. No fuss.

I am proud of me too. I talked to my sister tonight. She had said a couple of months ago that she wanted to try vaping and I was going to set her up with a spinner and evod and 510 attys and juice. She never came over and I did not call. Tonight she is all excuses and all I did was say I was 9 months no cigarettes and I had a setup put aside for her if she wants to give it a try. She went off on me like I was backing a wounded animal into a corner. Whoa. I do not care if you want to vape or not. You come to me when you are ready. Thought she wanted to come play and try a few flavors, just see what the stuff looks like.

I do not believe in pushing vaping on people. Smokers or not. I will do 'show and tell' and try it out. But I am not an evangelist for vaping. Not my job or responsibility.

What I was trying to say and did a bad job of it, is that after all these months I think I have outgrown the evod as a front line vaping tool. I have a few and some heads. But I will not be buying more now that I know I can build a coil and vape something like the Russian or the Igo-L. The Russian or Kayfun will hopefully be the device that will last me the hours I am out and about.

I have been reading about how the rbas can be finicky. So I will keep an evod as backup in my kit. But if I think I will be vaping on a Kayfun type rba most of the time I am definitely going to have to start DIY juices. I can not afford to go through 7 or 9 ml a day (this includes juice I spill during refills or rewicking) of premade juice. So there are tradeoffs I am considering along my path.

From my understanding, the dual coil ones won't take single coils without leaking. People are fussing with rebuilding them now into single coils so they don't waste so much juice.

hmm, was watching a UK medical tv show.. (Embarrassing Bodies) and they asked the audience to take quizzes on their website (Embarrassing Bodies - My MindChecker - Channel 4) to see where you fall in terms of "risk" of different mental issues.
OCD. im at high risk. lol. my computer desk has to be arranged a certain way. my desktop has to have icons a certain way, when a new program has an icon i have to rearranged my entire desktop.
Addiction (addictive Peronality) i have a medium-high risk. i become obsessed with new things that interest me. especially online games. and now ecigs. oh the hours i have spent looking at ecig things.
Autism. High risk. if i was worried about autisim in my self, i should see a doctor to have it diagnosed. but i function well i think. plus people in mathmatisical and Computer Sciences fields tend to score high in this test. im IT.

and my biggest news. i just submitted my application for college. now awaiting them to let me know. im afraid i will be declined because my high school/college classes that qualified me for admittance expired last year, and i dont have the 3 years IT work history they want. and i dont have another college courses to transfer in. gah. hoping i will be accepted though. then cant start until July (at the earliest if child is home from hospital) if i am accepted. im nervous and wanting a cigarette right now. girlfriends taste horrible so i wont use hers. thinking i may just go to bed and hope it will pass by the time i get up.

I tested slightly high risk for autism, dyslexia(was diagnosed when I was a kid), and high for OCD. Funny, because I am a waitress.

I saw that. The Mega does look interesting. I am in a place right now that I feel so done with buying heads and trying to keep up with the incessant changes that Kanger does. This does not work with that. That does not work with this. Blah, blah, blah.

I am hoping that the Kayfun/Russian will set me free from buying consumables at the rate I would need to maintain my vaping hobby (habit?). I think it may. When I get sick of building coils for a few weeks, I could build 3 or 4 and have them ready to mount. I just need to see how often and how much of a PITA it is to keep changing cotton.

I guess I just do not want to have to keep changing out all my toppers every season. That is why I love my 510 attys so much. I have not tried anything dual coil and do not plan to. Just my one week vaping my R91 has shown me it does not take a lot to vape through a large quantity of juice in a short amount of time. And having to reduce the nicotine only makes me go through it faster, it seems.

The Igo-L and the Russian are pretty simple to build. I struggled with all the little pieces on the evod/protank heads. From watching the videos, the Aspire and the other newer heads look even more complicated and finicky to rebuild.

Welcome to the thread. Glad you decided to post. I just became a grandmother for the first time. This is an exciting time for you. Congratulations. Sorry to hear hubby lost his kit. Glad you are getting it replaced right away.

You will find us to be a supportive and chatty in bursts bunch. I enjoy my MVP; it serves me well and I have no problems with it. What kind of tanks are you using? I just started building coils for an rba, the Russian 91% so I am in a new learning curve. Some of us make our own juice too. Many of us are still in various stages of smoking and vaping so you will find at least a few of us that know right where you are, vaping wise. We use all kinds of different devices and toppers and our juice tastes all differ so the conversation can get lively. We respect where each of us are on our journey and support each other in their quest.
