In my experience NO flavor stands well on its own. They all need a little tweek of something. Even double ry4 is greatly enhanced by a few drops of vanilla or caramel or even some type of cream. The trick is not to overwhelm your base flavor.
I started out by mixing single flavors and trying them on their own. Then I started taking my base flavor mixing it say like 18mg and adding a little of this or that from the other premixed flavors. If that makes sense? My first successful Swedish fish was 3 premixed flavors mixed together. It's like cooking - taste it - add a pinch of this - taste it - add a dash of that etc.

That last calculator I linked to allows mixing bases together and it'll figure out the percentages for you. That's why I want it so badly.

Oh wahhh... I won't say it made me want to smoke, but it DID make me want to smash something, and feeling that is when I typically always wanted to smoke -- my internet connection was down for over an hour! Yeah, I know...

Nevermind cigarette addiction, my internet addiction is beyond anything rehab could do... I even disconnected the power and the co-ax from my "cablemodem" but it did no good, I still had to stand around screaming at it to connect for over an hour. That's the 2nd time this week!

In response to all this talk of rebuilding being scary. I'm right there with everyone. I was stupid scared I'd short it out and injury myself with the electricity and what not. Turns out the hardest thing for me is getting it wicked in a good manner. I've seen all kinds of ways to do it, and I've found my own way. I like it pretty well. I'll have to get a picture of it next time I wick my Tugboat. Which needs to be when I get home from work. Someone remind me to do that please. :D

Next day reminder to rewick your tugboat and take a pic.

Andria,

Let me guess, top couple of lights were flashing and that was all you got, even after you turned it off, counted to 10 and started over?

Actually only the top "power" light was solid; sometimes the 2nd light would go solid and the 3rd one would blink, but after a while it would go out and the 2nd one would return to blinking. It was maddening. 8-o And yeah, I did go thru all the contortions of unplugging the power line and cable, waiting, then re-plugging... did no good at all.

After working for time warner, if it does that a lot, I would say you have a "flapping" modem. Meaning that you have an intermittent connection, the good news is that it's normally a network problem and a call to tech support will clear it right up.

Good luck

I wouldn't say it does it a lot; before these two occurrences this week, I can't even remember the last time it happened. I figure they must be working on the network or the cables themselves locally.

The weirdest thing was that yesterday, when it first went down, it didn't show in the lights at all -- browser kept giving me the "page is not available" msg, first for here, then for all the other tabs I have open, but the lights were solid. When I unplugged then reconnected it, THEN I saw the weird light show, and repeated failures to connect, but it finally made it.

And now for something completely different... how long do juices really last? I know the standard answer from vendors is 12 months, but I have some comming up on that one year mark that still taste fine to me. Should I just chunk them or is it safe to keep and use them? I bought quite a bit on sale a couple of times thinking I would surely use it all (and I might have if I'd quit ciggs all the way) However, as we all know from be being here today that didn't happen. ;-) so, how long do y'all keep them?

Thanks again,
TxTigger

I've had some that I made over a year ago ~14 months that were just fine, the nicotine might degrade a bit but it wasn't really noticeable

I've heard the one year exp was pre-cautionary. Just like meds have a one year exp. date. If they look and taste fine, I wouldn't worry. PG is anti-bacterial anyway.

My internet goes out daily. Argh. Rarely for more than a few minutes at a time but several times a month, it'll go out for half a day. Never long enough for a credit (8hrs). I have nothing good to say about Cox other than they are the only one in town. Not even DSL which has faster speeds but they only built up in the burbs. 'Broadband; the only technology allowed to go backwards'. I actually miss dial-up days. No netflix here is possible with speeds this slow. I'd hate to see what the $20 economy pkg is. I have the $60 premier pkg. I was so in hopes Google would come in.

Oh my, what were you in the middle of doing when it went out on you Andria?

I think I discovered it when I hit the "submit" button replying to some post -- don't even remember what it was about, at this point. At first I just thought ECF had gone haywire again, but I soon realized it was ALL my chrome tabs... *sigh* I'm just glad it came back some time before my husband got home from work, because coming home from a hard day at work, one should not be greeted by a ranting screaming housewife. :D
