What a wonderful dad you are!! You're there to love and protect your daughter, even though she's all grown up (many dads aren't). I bet she loves you, too.

Don't beat yourself up over that cig. It happens to the best and worst of us. More often than not, during times of great stress, we tend to fall back on the old tried-and-true ways we are used to as a way to deal with it.

You've come a long way, though. I trust you'll get back on the wagon again real soon. Stay strong :)

She's worth it, usually very independent. It was unusual she asked for help. At the same time as a lady, daughter or not,I felt it was my duty as a man to stand in the rain waiting on the cops to show up and just be there in case she needed more help. A lady down the street from me doesn't know it because I wait until she goes to work but her grass mysteriously gets cut and trimmed when it gets long. She's older and has a hard time cutting it if it gets long from rainy weather. We don't talk, she keeps to herself so the neighbors don't tattle either. I don't say those things to brag on myself but only to say it's just the right thing to do, kind of a duh thing to me. Part of it my upbringing, most of it my way of saying thanks for my salvation. I hope that doesn't send off the "oh no religious nut spewing religious rhetoric" alarms but it's just who I am.
The cigarette was purely a habit. For decades I instinctively grabbed a smoke in times of anger and did so today before realizing. No biggie in the big picture of my efforts. Once I realized what I'd done I worked on the car then went back to vaping some Cherrywood because it's got a good tobacco smoke taste and I prefer it over real tobacco smoke taste. I've now put a 650 eGo battery topped with a tank full of Cherrywood where I used to keep my cigarettes . Next time instead of grabbing a smoke, out of habit, it'll be a tank of juice instead. I'll probably realize after a while I'm vaping next time I get so mad after I calm down some. I just know my cigarettes aren't in "their spot" anymore and some Cherrywood is instead. Since my second itaste battery showed up today I can now justify to myself the reason I bought it, to replace the 650 eGo that sits in "their spot" .

You can Google it if you don't believe me but in 2010 Marshawn Lynch ran a play where he broke a bunch of tackles , knocked a couple guys over on his way to the touchdown. The crowd reaction showed up on the Richter scale it was so insane. This year they set the record for loudest stadium in the world twice, both over 133 decibels. I think the last was 136 decibels. Ear plugs are standard issue at the entry gates of their home games. I've never been there but I'm thinking it'd be a day that I'd never forget.

I laughed when I got to:

Also, you are prone to suffer from weaknesses centering in the head.

I'm sure pretty much everyone here would agree!

I think my wife wrote that. If not I'm sure she was a consultant to the author of the article. She paraphrases that often to me. :)

A lot of people start DIY small. They get comfortable mixing ready made flavors together. Then they may buy one or a few 'mixer' flavors to add to existing juices or make simple flavors. The people who like the simpler fruit or fruit and cream or one ingredient flavors seem to do well right off. It is the people that like the complex, multiple layered and mixed flavors that have the hardest time recreating juices. It can save you a lot of money or cost you a lot of money and time. But it is fun. Check out the DIY threads here; they are very good.

Love that holder thingy you got at TGMaxx. I just went to our local Walmart and they had nothing in any department. We are in a smaller town so I guess they do not stock like in a city. Same thing happened to me at Home Depot. They had a multicompartment covered tray type thing I wanted. Website said at store only. No store within 35 miles of me had one, ever. I called around. Bummer.

I've had a busy weekend, but I've read all the posts.

The ones about allergies were interesting. I have tons of allergies, and it's one of the things I have been worrying about with vaping. My allergies go from the typical bad nasal stuff to contact dermatitis, where my face swells up and blisters when I eat strawberries, tomatoes, eggs, pineapple, and some other stuff. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't become allergic to anything in my PVs.

Karen, I really liked your post. You are the most cheerful and uplifting person, and always make everyone feel happy!

I was also interested in the posts about MBV and FW. I've been looking at trying the MBV 24mg nicotine liquid and a bunch of their flavors for a few weeks now. It looks like the easiest and least expensive way to try DIY. I can get a bunch of the smaller bottles of flavors, then order larger ones from FW when I find things I really like. I also want to get cobalt glass bottles to store liquids in. I like the blue better than amber. Storing anything in plastic makes me nervous.

Got something nice at TJ Maxx on Saturday! It will work for a while, since I don' have a lot of stuff yet. Right now my really old cigalike stuff is in some of the drawers, but I'll take that out when I need more room. Don't ask about the juices in there, none of them are very good, that's why I want to DIY!

Mark, Just make sure it was a stranger and random. I do not know how old your daughter is, but these school age kids these days take things way out of hand. Did she piss off a boyfriend or even a group of girls. Since Facebook and the bullying, random may not be as random as it was when I was young. I once had an ex boyfriend break out my windshield and I was over 30. Just saying.

Someone tried to into my daughter's car last night. Grrr. They bent the frame to the window but didn't get in but it's raining and the inside of the car is getting soaked. Double Grrr! I call my insurance company, get the claim number, adjuster supposed to call, didn't call yet. Triple Grrr cuz I've got things to do!. I step outside and smoke a cigarette. Gazillion Grrr so much so I went to the car, rolled the window down and bent the frame back to 99% oem placement. Thugs try to rip off my child who works to pay for what little she has,I fell off the smoke free wagon and have no thug to take it out on so I used my anger to bend steel! Grrr over.

She's almost 19, in college. Where I live the they are breaking into vehicles looking for easy pickings. For whatever reason they didn't break the window but tried to peel the door open from the top. My truck has been broken into in the last year as well . A whole lot of folks in Colonial Heights have been hit in the last year. There's no street lights to speak of in the neighborhood either. It's druggies looking for quick cash. They'll scope the vehicles during the day hit them at night. She has a dance shoes bag that could be mistaken for a purse she was keeping in the back floor board. I'm thinking that's what they were after but didn't get in. She has since put the bag in her trunk. For every 1 the cops catch another takes their place.

I live relatively in the middle of nowhere, 35 or so miles south of Nashville. Out here that is nowhere. We have had a couple of rounds of car break-ins in the last year or two; mostly teenagers. And, like you said, they look for the easy pickings. At least once or twice a month during summer months the police in local towns get on the nightly news and ask people to not leave their keys in the ignition or purses on the front seat. Amazing. I do not generally lock my car in my driveway but I do not leave anything in plain view. That is just common sense to me. Guess it is not to a bunch of folks. It is so easy to lock your car now with those new key fob thingys. No eyesight needed for keys anymore.

Hope they catch the rascals soon.

U never locked my car until about 6 months agi whe I was at a friends house party and people went through all the unlocked cars anf took anything not bolted down, abd we were only alerted when they broke a window to grab a purse (was a dummy purse friend keeps in passenger seat for this reason, they take this ourse and leave the exoensive purse in the trunk alone). Had my wallet sesrched anf money and debt cRd taken. Called bank snd they changed my csrds and set up a stinv on the card. The day after I told them it happened there were charges totaling 3k in electronics. Then a few months later when I got comfortable agai I had someone get into my unlocked car and search it. They took my antacid and heartburn pills. And I was only alerted when I heard my trunk closing. They took my alcohol I had in my trunk. The cheap hobos took my cheap vodka and rum but left the $100 bottle of vodka because its not a common known name.

We took Kitty to the vet today. A little before Christmas she had a small cut or abrasion under her chin, small. I watched it and her. Seemed it would heal. Did not pay attention for a couple of weeks with all this mess and now it looks like a much larger area or irritation and a little scabbing. I have been cleaning it (not a happy kitty) and watching, not getting better. Vet did blood work, we will know if stress of allergy or something more tomorrow. She did not want to give her steroid shot and meds without blood work. Kitty did not like ride to vet. Only second car trip. Wow, we have had her since Sept. 2008, longer than I thought. Where does time go?

I hope it goes well, Shari. My kitty would get a really red swollen chin every now and then. It was more concerning to my BF than it was to me because a) he loves her to death, and b) it usually went away on its own. The last time, we decided to take her in. Nothing was found but the vet suggested we remove any plastic water/food bowls as the plastic can hold onto bacteria and cause lesions and kitty acne. Since we've switched her water bowls to stainless, she hasn't had 1 outbreak.

Also, rather than putting antibiotics on it (unless it's badly infected), try some virgin coconut oil on it. It's an antibacterial/antifungal that works wonders!

Thank you for that tip Alisa. Yeah, the vet mentioned plastic but we always use pyrex of one of or dinnerware bowls for her, never plastic. I thought for a moment it might have something to do with my vaping, but she does not have access to my stuff or juices and does not sit in my lap or near me when I vape. I even asked the vet about this. She does not know and thinks not. The blood tests are more to rule stuff out and make sure she is healthy. She is 11 now and fat; fat on crunchy kitty food, not table goodies. She has not brought home a 'present' of a mouse or rabbit in a good couple of years, so not that either. She only stays outside 10 or 15 minutes now and rarely is out of site of the porch.

I leave mine unlocked, if they want something they would break the windows this saves me that headache

That's how I am with my truck at home. The mall and places thieves don't usually bark windows but it's isolated enough here in the neighborhood where they will. If they want my phone charger that bad I'd not have to go through the hassle and expense to replace glass as well as a charger

Same for me, there is nothing valuable in my car, the stereo is an old dinosaur and I don't have a gps or camera or anything in there, except trash on the floors! So to prevent thieves cutting the top and costing me a couple grand I just leave it open.

Had a dream about smoking last night, I almost never remember dreams so this one must have been a real doozy. I was planning out steps in my mind, driving to the store and buying a pack. Intended to smoke the whole thing! When I woke up I was shaken. . .Anyway, complacent due to time passing, and now must be on my guard again.

Have a great day everyone!!

I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada. I lock everything up--car, apartment doors, bicycle in the summer months. The town itself is lit well enough, but there are still some people here that will try to steal anything that's not locked down. A couple of my neighbours had their bicycles stolen this past summer. Sometimes I wonder if there's any respect and dignity left in this poor world of ours.
