Awww Thanks I've noticed when I go outside to vape like I would to smoke(trying to replace all the old associations of smoking) I try to take my lighter with me...then I look down see it in my hand and feel silly...

Im my car I've gotten rid of my ashtray, and just in a few days I've already noticed it doesn't stink quite as bad, but still yucky. Bleh... My garage still smells like a bar :/ I can't imagine what everything will smell like in a few more days if I manage to keep up and not smoke...Im gonna be like a momma bear nesting and cleaning everything in sight just to get rid of the funk lol.

on the taking the lighter thing. Been there, done that!

I can't believe that I haven't smoked in my truck for almost two months! I expect it must smell much better, but I can't tell. I didn't notice it before.

Actually in the beginning the only things available were cig alikes (not even egos when I started) with short battery life (usually 90-180mah) and so people started modifying (mods) things with replaceable batteries like flashlights, battery boxes, etc into e-cigs. I even remember people using RCA connectors for 901's.
I used to have a 10 bay charger and had to carry 6-7 510's to work to last me through the day. I started making box mods with 14500 batteries and one battery lasted all day then.
I have no idea why the term carried over to commercially made stuff

I remember those cigalike only days. I still have all my old cigalike kits. They were awful! I kept trying with them, and buying more and more of those expensive kits, trying to find something that would satisfy me, and also, to have enough of them so I always had a working battery. I am so glad we have so many nice devices now!

Now I understand why they call them mods. It makes more sense, even with the carryover to the commercial stuff.

my 1st attempt was with an ego with a i think it was a 350mah battery had to b charged every 1-2 hrs depending on how long i used it plus i bought the ego passthrough with the usb cord lol that was a lifesaver

Welcome Divine Revhenge, I'm not going to give any advice or even really tell my story because you have enough advice already to carry you through.

When I first came here I was still smoking and these great people helped me to quit.

I am celebrating 6 months smoke free as of last night and I'm going to sit here and wait for dancing bananas. You'll understand this soon. lol.

Beyond finding several juices that really really "do it" for me the biggest thing is having a LOT of backup devices so if one starts to act up you can just pick up another without any frustration, then when you feel like it you can fiddle with the one that is misbehaving.

I have gotten into the hobby part of vaping and spending way too much money, but it's keeping me off the cigarettes, I don't think I will ever go back now. I am a collector by nature and I am now collecting vape gear and juices.

Lox one of these days when I get my head screwed on straight I will send you that Itazte to fiddle with, I haven't forgotten someone has just turned the clocks up to warp speed and the days keep getting away from me.

I think I have found "my" peach finally, I won the GotVapes game a week ago and got an Evod kit, (nice kit btw) and a bottle of juice. I picked peach cobbler and it's very tasty fresh and getting even better as it begins to steep. Shari stay away from it as it has cinnamon in it, but that makes it yummy for me. It's the first candy type cinnamon I've tastes and I love it.

My first ego setup came with two 650 batteries. That's what finally worked for me, and got me down to a pack a week rather than a pack and a half a day.

I haven't been around lately but I want to welcome all the newcomers to our thread. It really is a great place to be with a wonderful group of people. This is my third attempt at quitting smoking with ecigs. I also started with cig-alikes 4+ years ago (before egos) with no success. As a 42 year smoker who ended up smoking 3-4 packs a day, I never thought it would be possible for me to quit. I've only been able to do it with the help of all the people in this thread. If you're having a hard time giving up the cigs, this is the place to be.

Thanks everyone.... I'm soaking this stuff up like a sponge.. lol. Anywho the 175 was just what I spent TODAY...Gotta love income taxes. I probably already have well over 500-600 invested in what I've ordered and have on hand. There are a ton of local smoke shops that I've stopped into that mostly have garbage, but every once in a while I find something I wanna try. Zikwid in Glendale, and Xtreme Vapor also in Glendale are the only 2 actual vape shops that Ive been to. Xtreme is pricey...I had to have a Vision spinner...I read every review I could get my hands on and just had to have it...so I bought it, and paid 40 bucks for the dang thing. Too much, but I wanted it right then. And it's purple can't ever go wrong with purple. Im definately working on not being to hard on myself if I fall off the wagon. It seems to be working honestly.

If I stress the ones I do smoke it just makes me wanna smoke more. Since 10am I've had one cigarette, with 2-3 nasty cravings but I didnt' cave!! Im gonna try to do the same tomorrow.

Does anyone notice it's difficult to vape first thing in the morning? My throat is very dry and scratchy and I feel like my juice is too harsh. After that first cig Im good. What can I do to make it smoother in the morning?

Welcome Sheila, and thanks for sharing with us! I know I benefit greatly from everybody's posts, positive and negative. This thread is a great place to come for support, chit-chat and venting. I've learned a ton about devices and coil wrapping here, and it helped me figure out the keywords to use so I could get more info.

I consider every single person here a friend and a partner in getting away from cigarettes.

Well, I'm happy to report that during the down-time with all the canceled appointments etc during snow-ice-mageddon around here, I have made huge progress into vape liquid experimentation and true joy!

I finally realized, as I pawed through my drawers of stored-and-steeping juices, that I had quite a few that ought to be ready to vape. Sooo.... I have been vaping my happy head off for days and days! And finally made a little spreadsheet/table whereupon to note my ratings, woohoo!

I've found some new ones that I cannot live without -- (all are 50pg/50vg 12 nic) - or as close to that as I can get w/ the vendor

** Good Life - Deadly Sin (as others have so rightly pointed out!)
** NLV (Nite Lite Vapor) - Gold (total deliciousness)
** Vapor Chef - PB Nomnoms (peanut butter cookie - can chain vape it with no ill effects)
** ePipe Mods Pipe Sauce - Shire Malt - tobaccoey delicious
** Vapor Girl - Pink Moo (a strawberry/banana smoothie-ish flavor)

I still can't get much of a fave with the fruit flavors, nor the fruity dessert flavors -- I dunno what's wrong with me. I'm trying juices from various vendors along the lines of Blueberry Muffin, Strawberry Cheesecake etc. Just haven't found one I like yet.

And all the straight fruit flavors, like a Pomegranate or a Strawberry or a Kiwi, etc like that, again from a variety of vendors -- all leaving me flat even with extra sweetener or flavor shots.

I'm working on those, and will give a full report if I find anything!

p.s. total agreement re: MBV Vanilla Butternut -- it can make almost any flavor good. It's YUMMY!

Oh yeah, just not sure its exactly right but even with it not quite perfect I'm still chewing on huge clouds like its sub-ohming from a 2.3 ohm coil!

I watch the DIY flavoring threads. I have heard Hangsen has the best fresh peach. I haven't heard how it compares with Inawere (which is one I've been tempted to try even if it does have min PG in it). Cream is one FQ may have an opinion on too. I suspect you watch those threads too, in that case, never mind.

i might have to step outside of my comfort zone from FW lol and check elsewhere for a solution, atm FW peach, french vanilla and fresh cream somewhat comes close either im missing something or i have to let it age a few days to a wk before trying it
