Billing your roommate is highly illegal if he's also got Medicaid. A lot of doctors don't know that and they should. That's one of the issues I'm looking into right now. It's dicey because I don't want doctors to stop treatment either. I want CMS to go after state Medicaid programs that aren't paying instead.

Agreed, in my case, they tend to stop covering medications and don't notify DR's so the prescriptions can take days or weeks to get filled. Not pain meds either (no comment for those that need and deserve them I mean things like beta blockers for heart problems) just any old drug the feel like dropping.

Laws or not, selling to minors goes against everything the online vaping communities are trying to promote - vaping with or without nicotine is targeted at adults. The technology in general is targeted at current smokers for Pete's sake! It's common sense.

All 4 B&Ms within 3 miles of my house have a big sign saying they will not sell to anybody under 18 years old. I was actually in, IIRC E-Cigs of Denver, and she jokingly asked if I was over 18 when I stepped up to the counter for my juice order and a drip tip.

Vaporleaf turned away 2 obvious kids coming in together when I went in for my K100 mech mod.

Shops that sell to minors only lead to more negative press (of which we have MORE than enough), which leads to regulation, and ultimately taxation if not full restrictions. That's that last thing we need.

The B&M that I go to, as well as any of the cigarette shops I've been to in my area, all have large signs on their doors saying "no one under 18 admitted". I think it is a good idea, because it sends the right message.

It might be worth suggesting to stores that don't have a sign like that, that they put one up, to try to protect them from bad publicity.

how do they vape? are they better than a cig-a-like ? a std ego? they are supposed to be between cig-a-like and ego size

They were my favorite for work until I got an evod battery. They both have a concealed button so don't trip in my shirt pocket. They're slightly larger in diameter than a aaa battery and about as long as a good quality cross pen. They use t tanks and nothing else really works well even with a 510 adapter. They hit pretty good as the battery comes off charger at 4.2. I haven't used them in a few months because tank capacity is too small.

Thanks, I have them in a cart, the capacity doesn't matter for me since I'm always home, it's between this kit and the eroll. The eroll is better as it is auto, and small but I want to try these for tv time

There was a serious eroll package listed on the classies for a very good price. Had multiple batteries, etc. I don't know if it's still there. It may have been a week or two ago. If so, the person might be willing to deal on the price. Stuff isn't moving very fast on classies right now.

I'm in a similar situation, I qualify for and signed up for medicaid and got a medicaid card. During the process (which I started in December) I was forced to choose one of two HMO's to administrate the process. The HMO however has no idea that I am enrolled in their plan, so I can't pick a doctor or get anything done unless I go to an ER or urgent care center. Where or not they will pick up the tab for those services is still in question.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy about almost having health insurance (whatever it is it is still better than the none I had before,) but I am running out of all my meds. So I wait... not sure there is anything else I can do.

Medicaid is state run. It needs to follow federal regulations but that's a PITA to enforce (no private right of action, class actions only, no restitution=no money=no lawyers).

There is a time limit for approval. If you are for sure, for sure enrolled with a plan, look up providers on their website and make an appointment -> just go. Do it and don't worry. Even if there's a glitch in enrollment, there's a 3 month look back period (they won't tell you that).

Doctors and their staff like to get paid so if there's a glitch, they have a lot more experience in smoothing it out. They are motivated in getting a timely check. Let them figure it out. Not your job.

The other course of action is to contact the probono legal aid in your area. They get federal funds to take on Medicaid enrollment issues. (National Protection and Advocacy Agency or NPAA in your area). But there's a good chance your doctor's office will work it out for you.

Of course, no advice is fool proof with Medicaid. That's just how I done it. Medicaid rarely gives you a heads up on all your options and usually I have to go on blind faith with my fingers crossed based on my best guess. 99% of the time I'm right and it's an option they didn't want me to know about. Every person in Medicaid is there based on some classification which tiers different levels of medical care. Each classification gets different reimbursement rates from CMS to the state. The state is going to put you in the highest reimbursement rate possible even if it means your medical care is reduced.

That's why if a person has Medicaid, they never want to loose traditional Medicare by joining a plan that is a combo Medicare/Medicaid. What happens is they end up getting Medicaid services (a little better than no insurance) while the state is paid full Medicare rates. It's big money that is generally transferred into state general funds. The pressure to join combo plans is intense (here). Medicaid will never give me another option. They have tried to automatically enroll me (passive enrollment) several times which caused me to loose Medicare - even told me I had to appeal to administrative hearing (another 4 years away) to change it. That was a total crock of BS. Medicaid is the dirtiest of "insurance" because the state makes money hand over fist on it. That's why it was so blindingly stupid when some states didn't expand it. The pie charts are Medicaid are totally false because they never include the reimbursements, which is the entire state match + some. So not expanding Medicaid created lower income to the state general fund for those states and grew their deficit. Bold faced lies.

I spent 3 out of 4 years on my back with the cancer thing and had very little to do but figure out how to battle Medicaid and get them to pay for what they should have treated. They can be dirty cheats to the max. But yea, that's even better than nothing. No one seems to stop and think that it's pretty stupid to have 2 tiers of medical care because I'll tell ya what, if your sick, esp with something easy to treat but can't get treatment due to finances, there is nothing more demeaning and dehumanizing than that. I would expect an animal shelter to treat strays better. Although homeless and starvation can do a pretty good job of dehumanizing too. That's considered animal abuse, but not human abuse.

Use your Medicaid now. Best advice I can give you is educate yourself and be assertive in the care you expect to recieve. It's not a program someone can be passive with. Always get your medical records immediately (you'll have to pay for them) but don't expect doctors to keep them or transfer them. You have to be responsible. Look up protocals for what you are getting treated for to make sure they are being followed.

I haven't had to deal with that because I have Plan D. I thought there was a min formularly that CMS agrees to in the state plan. There should be a formulary listed with your Medicaid state plan. If one is dropped from a category, another needs replacing. I will say I'd hate to be on Medicaid formulary. The good news is that if it's generic, Walmart, Costco, a few other places have generics for $4 a prescription. Uncle knows of plans through drug companies that will lower the price too.

Thanks for the info aikanae. I've searched and searched and searched online and can't find much of anything about medicaid in this state. I've never had medicaid before, and this state just did the expansion and set up their own healthcare exchange which forces everyone to sign up for healthcare through that site alone. Needless to say, there are a lot of issues with the new system.

I will have to start making phone calls and just try to see someone... anyone. I'm a little afraid of how long I may have to wait for an appointment. Time to get proactive I guess.

I *really* need to see someone about PTSD asap.

Aik, that was probably better and more comprehensive information regarding Medicare and Medicaid than you would get from the source. Thank you for taking the time to post that. As you know, with me being in TN, I am screwed. But the info is being filed away in my mind for when we are looking to get out of TN.

Here is a good joke. So I finally got a contractor out here that will provide a written quote to give to ins co re: the island and Wall and bar counter, which I have not been able to provide and ins adjuster ignored. Don't know that # but he verbally gave quote on hardwood replacement: $16sf. He is out of his mind. I would not pay that if I hit Powerball. Way inflated, so I will watch for quote on island with wall. Should be interesting. For comparison, my low quote is for $8.50sf from a local guy. I am going nuts.

I have successfully gotten a wait list for a Russian 91%. Will not be here till May. I also got that Gizmo coil winding thingy at Hobby Lobby (the only one they had). Paid more in gas for round trip to the place than if I bought it online, but it is in my hands.

Mark, I have received the wire today. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have not had a chance to play with it. Going to raid the garage for a screw, nut, and washer to hold wire in Gizmo thingy to see if I can wind a coil. When I put completed coil on Provari to test ohms, do I need to have cotton in it, or test ohms before cotton. I think before, but not sure. Thank you. Trying to find a corner that is dust free with no contactrors painting or making dust to get a work area to make a coil. They are all over like ants, or fleas, or ??? Painting and sanding and running the vacuum cleaner so I can not get set up to do close work and concentrate.

DH and contractor friend had a falling out today. Friend thinks DH is flush with ins $ and it should all be his, but he will not put an estimate in writing. DH thinks contractor friend is trying to fleece him because he has given him over $1k and guy keeps asking for more for stuff DH already paid for. No meeting of minds. Do not do business with friends. Especially if not in writing. But I said that from day one. Nobody listens to me. I am the bi#ch. Always was, always will be.
