I actually have a few mechs. but all bottom button. nemme, m16, maraxus (all clones)
The side button is what I was after. Telescoping doesn'i hurt, but not necessary since i use all 18650

How do you feel about a side button that's at the bottom of the mod? I got a Fallen Angel (Electric Angel clone, by EHPro), and it's really nice -- litecigusa.net has them for $39.95. I'm very pleased with mine.

Hi again everyone!

Just needed to update on my recent post about turning to vaping.

I have been experiencing a very dark side to the whole thing.

During the time.. I have still not had any cravings to smoke another cigarette.
However.... over the past 3 weeks or so...I began to descend into a serious depression.. the whole nine yards! If you know what I mean.

I expected to have a level of such symptoms, purely from quitting smoking.
What seemed to be the factor of causing a near melt down was any liquid that contained fruit/cream/vanilla and basically anything that wasn't tobacco.... made it 10 times worse.

I have now switched back to tobacco flavour (american tobacco)

I am still feeling the occasional withdrawal in the form some irritability. and if I "over-vape" I get a bit light headed. but the negative thoughts and feelings are almost gone.
I've reduced the nic level to 1.2mg. to reduce the risk of over vape. anything lower and i'm just not satisfied :)

i've come to the conclusion.. that if I cannot take enough time off work and get away from life and people while quitting smoking....I am likely to be too much of a nightmare to deal with! and may get myself into trouble and get the sack! lol.. so the vaping stays for foreseeable future.

I write this in the hope it may be useful info to someone.

Sounds like a perfect case for WTA. Nicotine alone cannot do what WTA does -- not just eliminate cravings, but eliminate or greatly reduce depression, anxiety, alienation, etc. There is a lot more addictive stuff in cigarettes than just nicotine.

Hi again. Are you chain vaping or are you vaping for 10-15 minutes at breaks, or..... I am asking because if chain vaping you need a lower level of nic. If you are vaping during breaks and 5 minutes an hour or such, then during those short periods of craving you can up your nic a level and it should help with cravings and withdrawals. When home and vaping for longer periods, use a lower level of nic.

I started at 18mg and after a week of vaping I still felt like the cigarettes were chasing me so I was advised to up my nic to 24mg. Within a few hours of the 24mg nic, I never picked up another cigarette and did not have a lot of intense cravings. Trouble falling asleep, yes. I stayed at 24mg for about 6 months and slowly stepped down. I went down to 12mg when I got my Russian 91 and Kayfuns. Now I can not vape 24mg and 18mg is too high to even drip in 510 attys.

WTA is worth looking into also. I did not need to use it. But you do need to do a little reading up on it over at the Aroma thread. I am sure some people here can fill you in on its attributes.

Tim,

If I'm not cloud chasing, my goto mech is ALWAYS my maraxus. Voltage drop meets the Pegasus and the lack of a locking ring makes it perfect on the go.

I've wanted to try a side button honestly, I use a mech all night in the truck. The usually rest in a cupholder when not being "loved" in my hand lol.

The reference for Tim's 69 was about reports on that specific clone being fiddly from a company that has more of my money than I do currently... and has always been upfront about things.

I'll take a look at your mech Andria, but... as PBusardo says, anything that keeps you off cigarettes is a perfect setup (paraphrased)!

Yeah I'm really happy with it; the looks of it remind me a lot of my Sigelei zmax v3, but it's like the "elegant" version of it, without the rings-around that the Sigelei has, and, what really surprised me, is that it's actually a bit smaller -- about the same diameter, but shorter by about 10mm-ish. I guess it's the lack of electronics that the Sigelei has.

That $39.95 is the best price I've seen for that one; some other shops carry it, but theirs are all about $10 more expensive, or even more.

The only "problem" I've found with it -- now and then it seems like it won't fire, and I finally figured out why that is -- if the locking ring loosens any, from the unlocked position, it will prevent the "stub" of the button from hitting the "power source" inside it. I don't know what those things are really supposed to be called, but you get what I mean -- the locking ring, if it's loose, keeps the button from going all the way to where it's supposed to, to make it fire. So I've just gotten in the habit of making sure the lock ring is fully open, so the button can go as far as it needs to.

Honestly, bro, I wouldn't worry about overvaping on the nic level. Now, this is YOUR body we are talking about. And some people might disagree with me on this one. But I am giving advice based on my own body as well as a little bit of pharmacology knowledge I have.

Let me also slip in here I agree with Andria. WTA may be the way to go for you. And let that be the first thing I say and tack the next pc of advice to that and under that.

Yes, as smokers we did gradually increase our usage. (Ironically, the reverse seems to be the norm with vapers, but that is a different discussion.)

But according to the psychoactive drug studies I did, and reaching back to my college days on this one, nicotine is a self-regulating drug. Rather, users of nicotine have a tendency to self-regulate.

This means that as far as smoking is concerned (and this is why I stress the WTA council first) we tended to smoke to the point of satisfaction and not beyond. While there was a tendency for us to very very gradually increase our tobacco use, we did find a level of nicotine in our blood that was most comfortable to us, and we used to maintain that level.
Now, we smoked more on stressful days, yes. But remember that stress affects blood chemistry and is purported that nicotine excretion increases with both higher levels of stress as well as ingestion of things such as Vitamin C. The research, IIRC, shows that both stress and VC (ascorbic acid) both acidify the body chemistry enough to marginally increase nicotine excretion. Marginally yes, but does account for that "extra half a pack" or whatever we smoked on a stressful day.

Long story short is, if you are craving more nicotine, you are craving more nicotine. I wouldn't lower nic level in times of depression or stress or any time you find yourself "just not getting enough." Honestly, your body will tell you when it is time to reduce. Because the result is that you are vaping more.

Trust me on this much. I know for the last year I have struggled with tobacco, but I did have a solid year in there of just vaping. I gradually reduced my nic level all the way down to 6mg before I started smoking again. (Now I am back up to 30.) And to be honest, the thought processes behind this wasn't much. I did think "hey, I would like to lower my nic level gradually" from time to time. But when it came to drop, one day I just simply dropped it. It was like the most natural thing in the world.

Now this is my own experience, and YMMV. But if I were you, i would maintain your nic level, with WTA, until you get a little more status quo.

With vaping, I have over vaped. But you will get the "shakes" LONG before you do any real damage. ANd at that point, you should be good on the craving.

Now, I am no doctor. So feel free to toss everything I said. I dont want to inadvertently cause a heart attack in anyone who reads this. So let me disclaimer that. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR SO U DONT GET A HEART ATTACK FOLLOWING MY ADVICE.
But with that being said, I think you should be alright keeping your nic level at what keeps the cravings away and let your body tell you when to lower the nic.
Craving is your body saying now is not the time.
And WTA

I recently got my maraxus. I LOVE it, I really do. I do want to try a side button though. I am over 24 hours smoke free again and right now just looking for ANYTHING that makes this next month easier. And I do find I am a tad more comfortable with pushing a button on the side. Yes, I have my Zmax, but all my go-to tanks are coiled at .5, so they won't work on the Zmax. .5 seems to be my sweet spot. I keep my aspire nautty on my Zmax.

Andria, that mod looks super sweet, but I was looking for something with a button higher up.

I decided to go with the 69, esp since I really don't roll lower than .5, and some other birdies told me that .5 should be fine on the 69.

I am a bit handy, so adjusting stuff really isnt a problem for me. Esp since now I have everything kind of "set up for good once and for all" kind of thing going on. I basically have paired off all my gear, and tank X stays on mod Y all the time.

I do this for simplicity, but also I really love my M16 mods, but the 510 threads are soft. So If i unscrew the whole head with the tank attached it prolongs the life of the threading. But this also means I dont have to readjust my positive pin every time I switch tanks. Because if I want to use a different tank, I just grab the mod it is attached to.
I also pretty much only use Sony 30A batts, so I am using the same battery with the same dimensions. All of this reduces having to readjust everything all the time.

tl;dr version:
I am not too worried about finicky or hard to adjust stuff with my current setups.

I've wanted to try a side button honestly, I use a mech all night in the truck. The usually rest in a cupholder when not being "loved" in my hand lol.

Also there's one called the Bolt -- side button, higher up, like the Zmax. I might look into that one later myself; they're not costly. Of course, there are some BEAUTIFUL ones called Poldiak... I'll need to win the lottery, to afford those. :D And one other, called the Roller; they sort of remind me of the Fallen Angel, with the button near the top instead of near the bottom.

I will def look into all those Andria.
I don't have a great bank roll either. And yes, I am guilty of going the clone route.
(as a side note, for any Star Trek fans out there, I dubbed my Nemesis clone Shinzon. You know, Nemesis. Clone. yuck yuck. Bad joke, stinky cheese, I know.)
But I can see if I can't find any of those at Hcigar, Fasttech, 101vape, etc.
Thank you Andria
You are such a big help in so many ways on so many levels All y'all are, but Im just saying.

Happy Saturday Folks!

Last night, I went out for drinks with some friends who smoke. It was my 1st time being out drinking, since I quit smoking 3 weeks ago. I was reluctant to go at first because I was afraid I might be tempted to smoke, but I had a good time and wasn't even tempted!

Here's a question I will pop out to y'all.

Not counting WTAs, which I understand paying the extra buck for, what do you normal expect to pay for quality juice? I prefer to buy in 30ml, if that helps.

I have spent most of my vaping time vaping DIY juice. But I don't have time to mix new juices and prefer just mixing my "go-to" flavor.
Feeling like having some other flavored juice on hand will help me, but haven't really juice-shopped in a long time.

$15 for 30ml is fair and average.

Yeah... I have paid as much as $1-ish per ml, but usually only at B&Ms, with their markup. Online, usually around $.50 per ml, and if you get a 30ml rather than a 10ml or 15ml, sometimes you get a bit of a price break.

I get 15ml bottles from sweet-vapes.com for $9.95; if I got 30ml, they're 18.95.

Someplace like ECBlends -- which does have good juice, it just mostly needs at least some steeping; tobacco flavors, a pretty long steep -- their prices are even better, and they offer 5ml for $2.50, for juices you just want to try out.

Congratulations! The longer you are vaping and not smoking the easier it will be to not even think about smoking in most social situations. You will probably start wondering if they can smell how bad they smell. lol

I actually can no longer stand the smell of cigarette smoke and try to avoid being around groups of smokers while they are smoking. A few months back I went into a cigar shop where several men were smoking cigars and caught a whiff of a delightful cigar. I hated cigar smells before. Now I wonder if I could extract the cigar tobacco and make some eliquid. So there is my weird story for the day.

Ahlusion charges $16 for a 30ml bottle, but then you get a 15% off feedback coupon about 3 weeks after they ship your juice. NLV is $14 for 30ml. The Plume Room charges $16.99 for 30ml. The Plume Room runs a weekly special for $10.50 for 30ml and rotates the flavor weekly starting Monday nights. So if you see one you like you can order 2 bottles and save some money. They also sell 5ml bottles for $3.99 each. They are not known for quick shipping, though. Those are the only vendors I buy from.
