I had a lot of issues with this originally. I am a huge Kayfun Fan and have been. Most of my issues stemmed from honestly me, and the fact the parts aren't screwing together the best. You get the thing and can't tell when the juice control is fully open because it seizes in the middle. It sticks to your mod. The 510 is weird, and if you get it out of whack, you have to know how to get it right again. The airflow is a pita. It seems like if you make a change to one thing, it affects how everything else must be set. This thing is much like a puzzle box. But I will say, after I got my P3 connector installed, everything has been great. I used to think my KFL+v2's were still better....now that could not be further from the truth. This thing is not like any other Kayfun! It has it's own learning curve. Also, I would not recommend building it, mashing down the cotton so the chimney fits with nothing in the threads model. I would suggest that you go ahead and put the stack ring on before you wick it. Cut the cotton slightly beyond the stack. Then gently fluff it before you set it in the decks. Also, after you set it in the decks, imagine where those holes on the bottom are. Try to place a fluffy cloud resting gently on top of them. Not mashed down on them. Finding the right amount of cotton to use is key. Also really concentrate on getting the cotton to fit through the coil without having to twist it. It really does not take that much wick material to make this build shine. Several builds I know I over wicked it and caused myself problems. Also for some reason I think the coil needs to be higher from the deck on this one. I seem to get better flavor that way. There are about 20 things I would have done differently after vaping this thing for a week even, but I think SM just wanted to release it. Therefore, there are adjustments we can make in our builds that make this unit really shine. If you are a Kayfun fanatic like me, got this and are totally frustrated like I was, please take the time to adjust your normal mindset. If you do and make some adjustments to the way you normally do things, you will find this to be an excellent purchase. I switched from 32G to 28 and more wraps, I raised my coil height, I raised my watts/volts, I fiddled with the parts until they move smoothly like they should have when I paid almost $200 for this thing. This is not a smooth transition from your normal Kayfun experience. This is something new and it requires a different take on things. I am now happily enjoying my new K4. For grins I loaded the same juice and tried to match the draw in my KFL+v2 units. From my experience this new unit is better, but I did the same test previously before adjusting my wire and build, and I thought the KLF+ was better. It isn't the atty, it is the build! I really hope this helps someone, even one person would make my year. Anyone frustrated out there, trust me, you can make this what others are saying it is, you just have to approach it differently than it's predecessors. Happy New Year to you ALL!

Too Late...

The Clowners have been taking notes and now all of the 20 dollar versions will have this upgrade.

Oh, and for free the Clowners are adding a brass chimney section too!!!

LOLz, Jim

I know it was bound to happen, and quickly. But I do wish the cloners hadn't been as fast with their release. Brass chimney? No thanks.
I wonder how long until SM release a spring replacement kit?

Just bought a P3 connector for kayfun 4.

Seem to be a small space in between kayfun & P3.

welcome to the club. I had a small gap, took it all apart, put it back together making sure everything was screwed in perfectly and still had a gap. That being said I'm back with the 510 adapter. I like the idea of replacing the provari 510 connector over sending the device in to have the p3 threads replaced in the event of threads getting stripped. I know in my old cheaper mods(both mvp2), 510 threads get stripped over time. Not sure about the strength of the p3 threads though.

I installed my P3 connector straight out of the box, and it was a perfect fit.

I urge all those with this "small gap" to please try to figure it out rather than settle for the gap and be unhappy...
I'm a natural mechanic (and one by trade), and it's hard for me to explain things without lengthy analogies and repeating myself, in order to convince myself I made the explanation clear enough...but if anyone needs help, please don't hesitate to ask me! I want all of you to experience this new Kayfun the way I have!
I believe, as it was said above, that the KF4 has a learning curve...which is understandable! It's a whole new animal, based on an old familiar friend. While some things will feel familiar, they're used in new ways. And some things are expected to work certain ways, but they actually work other ways.
So...even though this device has been in the field for a while now, let's just be mindful of the fact that that it's still new. And this time next year, when we are griping about the new KF4 Lite, we can reach over and grab our trusty KF4's...hahaha although, the KFL's and v3.1's will always have a special place in our hearts...and hands!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

OK so I said I would put the spring back in and I did. What a profound difference, no setting or other changes were made. I'm running it at 20 watts 450F and it's a real sizzler with the sleeve but with the spring installed it's like I turned it down to 10 watts and not a bit of that loud sizzle and the TP message starts showing. So I removed the spring and put the sleeve back in and all is back to normal BTW, I never had the TP message show with the sleeve installed and I used it all night at work last night and looked at the screen all the time.

Things aren't too bad with the 510 when the threads of the one in the mod is stainless steel but if you have a brass one in the mod and the one on the big heavy attie is SS you have trouble coming and soon.

My first Kayfun was a 3.1 and I have never liked it. The KFL and KFL+ came out I leaped on them and never looked back. I have a V4 on order and really hope that I don't have to wait on the V4 Lite or Lite + to like it.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I'd say there's a pretty good chance you well like it very much.

Hey, even for experienced builders, tinkering leads us to new and exciting things! So it's actually better to tinker!

I've got no problem with tinkering. I'm looking forward to it, actually. So all is well. The V4 is somewhere on the way between Germany and Latvia.

Am I the only one that's having a hard time remembering to close the juice control when I pop the top to fill the tank? ...flood!

I decided to reinstall the spring, along with my new brass bushing, so I can close the juice control and vape the chamber clear. Without it, there's no continuity with the juice control closed...so now I'll probably forget to re-open it after a refill

Why not simply install a short brass screw with a head on behind the air adjustment screw?
Could grind done the head a bit as necessary

On Monday I expect to be posting pictures of my K4 flawlessly running Ni200

Sorry folks I posed this in the wrong thread, I'm editing it but well it's kind of too late.

I am better than 2 days running Ni200 on my authentic K4 with a sleeve instead of a spring.
