Hi all, as many of you know I have had an auth V4 for about a month. I believe my shipment was third batch from Intaste. I love it, my fav atty and I use daily.

This is IMPORTANT I let you know I purchased my second here on the classifieds. It's a clone, a good one, but a clone for sure. I'm not getting into a clone debate, nor do I want to, but I feel obligated to tell people to be careful what you are buying or selling without doing some research. I like this unit so much, in my purchase haste, I didn't even realize the "extras" (o rings, screwdriver, etc) were a give away it's a chineses copy. I'm putting this post up to warn members, be careful.

Biggest giveaway it is a clone - the Juice control ring. The auth has soft rounded and finished machining along the edges, concave notches for grip. The clone has very flat Juice control surfaces, edges are sharp. Easy for me as I have an auth too, the sheen is different side by side on the entire atty.

Others: foam in box much more dense, not as foamy or airy as auth. Foil box sticker seal completely diff, very durable on clone. Auth one was a pos sticker that tore easy (later batches they actually inc in the box and didn't put them on). No serial sticker present on clone box, some clones have this now though, this one did not,

Ask any questions, or add comments on how to discern a clone from an auth please. I'm just trying to look out for the community here, not cause drama. I will not name names. These sold as authentics. Perhaps some of you can see the diff too...here are the sellers add pics.

Yeah, that is upsetting. A clone being sold as such is one thing, but selling a clone as an authentic is just a disgusting business practice.b One reason why I think clones shouldn't be a complete copy, like including the original manufacturers logo and seals.

Dems, I know you have owned both. Function and debate aside, how can you tell the differences? Your insight is important, thanks.

I'm curious from those who bought true authentics from vendors we know sell them...did the Kayfun come wrapped in that little plastic cover inside the box and did anyone get the entire boxed shrink wrapped? (both items I mentioned are shown in second photo)

I can NOT believe there isn't more regulations on clones being THIS close of a match! This infuriates me! Logos, decals, stickers....UGH. I was told that this is how the next batch of Kayfuns will be shipped-extra orings and the screw driver tool.

I wish Svoemesto had a serial number "checker" thing on their website or something like it for those who want to an authentic.

I am shipping the clone back to the seller today, Angie, it's not auth. I can assure you. It's a nice atty, but the finish and machining is different. Side by side, there is a noticeable diff. Svoemesto will say if any changes are made in batches like they did for the KFL. The small details I tried to state are a giveaway, but the main is a tangible thing you have to see in person. Yours has a blue screwdriver, that screams clone. I'm sorry.

I find the best way is researching the seller. For example, it is common knowledge that inTaste, VapeRev, and C9 are authorized Kayfun sellers. We seem to have discovered a couple others for the K4. SM probably lists their authorized sellers. When you buy it second hand then you are in an unknown arena. Agree with Dems. A clone being sold as a clone is one thing and I have some understanding of this. But to counterfeit is a whole other story and I'm not confused about my disdain for counterfeiters. That is just plain wrong.

And so we don't get into another clone fight, my comment is about counterfeiters, not clones. Personally, I am sick and tired of fighting about clones.

K'fun packages never came shrink-wrapped till now. None of their models. And yes, it's not wise to try and purchase genuine stuff from the classies or non-authorized resellers anymore. The reason why I told you to grab your K4 from InTaste, VapeRev or C9V.

Agree Bronze, I'm not trying to go there with clones.

I'm trying to protect people. The seller has been a member here for 5 years, respected in the community too. I am new, I have little to no leverage and I don't want drama.

People, know what you are buying and selling.

Ang, regulating clones/counterfeiters is impossible. There is no authorizing entity to do it. I share your frustration.

I stopped buying from a well known, popular vendor (everyone has heard of them) a long time ago because I saw them selling counterfeit products. They sold them as authentic with logos and everything with no mention they were clones. That makes them counterfeit in my book and I find that sleazy. Haven't bought from them in more than a year now.

Email received just now from VapeRev:

"Good Morning Angie,

Thank you for contacting us. At this time, there are no known clones of the Kayfun V4 available on the market (this does not mean that China has not already started making them, but it does mean that there is no physical clone available yet.) To our knowledge, there are no changes for the next batch. An original Kayfun will have a serial number sticker on the side of the box and do not include o-ring kits. The next batch will be released at the same time world wide again per SvoeMesto's instructions. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please let us know.

Best Regards,

VapeRev Team"

Confirms a lot, but how on earth do they not know clones are already out????? HUH?

Those authorized resellers have an advance notification option. Pls log on to their site/s and select that option. Just to let you know - they restock often and sell out pretty quick. I've observed that InTaste usually restocks once a month if not twice.

Other things I noticed:

Authentic comes out of the box ready to vape, completely free of machin oil and sanitary. I never washed my auth, didn't need too. The copied version, I could smell it immediately, I would have to clean thoroughly to be comfortable to vape it. Copy came with two ridiculous silica builds, looks like someone hastily wrapped 24 guage around a wick. Screw driver pos, I got the metal keychain one.
