The confusion again Angie and others is with the terms Clone and Counterfeit. A clone is a device that can look exactly the same as the authentic, but not have any of the authentics distinguishing marks/logos/etc. A counterfeit, which is what MTek ended up with is something that copies every nuance of the authentic, and could pass as one to somebody not in the know.

ECF is very strict about not allowing counterfeits to be sold in the Classifieds. Clones are allowed. That being said, we cannot watch every single item being sold, so rely on folks that are looking in there to report stuff to us when then come across it.

I hope not too many folks get taken in by the counterfeits being pawned off as authentic.

I've noticed with InTaste that they send you the Adv Notification a few minutes before they stock it. I was online for the K4, got the InTaste notification email, hit their site instantly ~ it was not there. Refreshed the page and Bam, it showed up!

I don't purchase from the classies or unknown sources, but if I spot something (BNIB off course) going for less than (say 70%) of the actual price I wouldn't buy it anyway. That's a tell tale sign, isn't it?

When you buy from Intaste they will remove the 19% VAT charge FYI. Once purchased, you will have it at your door in about three days. Rock solid tracking and service.

Yeah, InTaste is at the top of my list of vendors when they have a specific product I'm wanting to purchase Even with shipping it's almost always a very generous discount compared to vendors in the US. The K4 was less shipped than before taxes/ship from VR even.

The fact that products arrive in three business days means there is no downside to ordering from across the Atlantic. I consistently got packages quicker from InTaste then from Southern California up to Sacramento by way of USPS...it bottles the mind.

This is my hope too.

My my opinion, the seller has a responsibility to know what they are selling as well...where it came from etc. so many counterfeits it's important to know what you are representing. Personally, and perhaps irrelevant, I believe the seller knew what he was selling here as the replies didn't make sense. It's over now, and I hope this doesn't happen again...to anyone.

I haven't tried thinner juice yet, only very warm VG, which didn't seem to help.

I can get the wick wet by covering the air intake holes, but it's somewhat hard to control how much juice I get in there. (flood)

I didn't leave the stock Center Post in long enough to tell if it worked or not. Not even a half of a tank before I installed the S-kit.

I really want to start drilling and whittling, but I'd rather know what I'm doing wrong before I mess up such an expensive tank.

Buy yourself a tobeco clone and drill away. Once you find what works for you then transfer the mods to the expensive original. That way if you screw it up, you're only out around $30.

I think this just confirms to those concerned that if you want authentic then go straight to the authorized sellers.

Yes, they changed it. It shows volts/temp at the same time now too. Along with Celsius if you want.

I believe cloud9 will state "in stock soon" when a shipment is incoming. If out if stock, simply "out of stock". Many here purchased from cloud9, from what I have read, I would purchase from them without hesitation.

What`s up with that rdna screen? Did they change it? Mine looks like the old one

Evolv changed the screen on batch 3 or 4 I believe. Bigger and easier to read. Manufacturers went with what was available and changed design when Evolv did. Soon anything new with the smaller screen will have been made with a clone board as I don't believe Evolv is making the old style any longer. Besides the most visible change there have been other changes to increase the reliability of the board. The screen is now detachable from the board via a socket arrangement on the board. That way you can solder all the connections to the switches, etc. without stressing the board to screen ribbon cable connection. I didn't get any of this information from Evolv directly but, picked up most of it on various forums. In other words, please forgive me in advance if any of it is wrong.

That's definitely highway robbery! There's no sane person in this world who'd not know what he is selling is a clone. I'd opine it was 100% intentional ~ and thus that seller needs to be named and shamed.
