That's it. I'm gonna try and vape pure VG, no mixes, nuffin. That one's really thick. If my V4 wicks it and vapes, there's something wrong with your V4 particulary, Bneat.

You'll have to have the air kit installed to replicate his conditions? No?

I tried more wick, but it still wouldn't keep up

I enlarged the juice holes from 1.2mm to 1.6mm and it seems to be keeping up fine with the exact same coil and wick. No floods yet, but it's probably too soon to tell. I hope I didn't ruin my $192 atty

Have you modified your center post/airway?

It looks a lil different than pics on page one.

Thanks, Jim

I give up. :)
I tried, really! I stuffed all kinds of Rayon down there, but it still wouldn't pull any juice

That's a great idea, just a slight countersink I take it?
Yes, just a slight countersink on this one. I usually make them deeper/bigger than this, but I didn't want to take a chance on messing up the threads. I don't have a tap that size atm.

Bneat's doesn't wick with or without the kit, if I understand it correctly. I don't have one. Gonna try as it is to see if it wicks thick VG
No, I didn't leave the standard Center Post in long enough to know for sure. But when I cover 3 of the 4 intake holes and try mouth/lung hits, it seems to wick just fine.

Have you modified your center post/airway?
Yes, I shortened the Center Post so that it was the same height as the Positive Block. I did that so I could lower the coil a little more and insure that the wicks don't touch the Evaporation Chamber.

Ok, gave the VG a shot. 28g Kanthal D, 5 wraps on 2.4mm, 1-1.1 Ohms. Rayon bowtie wick. Pure thick VG. Air flow max open with screw in. Primed wick, took the liquid to soak in a tad longer than regular max VG juice. Filled tank full, cap on, turn open. Bubbles came, but slowly fighting their way through the liquid. Vaping. Slow chaining at 11-12w. Works. Bubbles come etc. Loosened topcap a bit. Airier draw. The same, wicks. Tightened cap. Vaping. Bubbles. Already through half a tank. Standard V4 from the SvoëMesto shop. I dunno, man..

One thing for sure is we still have apples to oranges given the air flow variances. Taking out the AFC screw still doesn't change the dynamics like having the S4 kit (spoken from experience).

BNEAT has already said that with some back pressure the problem isn't there so maybe SM didn't build the S4 for high VG? ;)

Mine keeps up just fine at 12 watts. I'm taking lung hits at 30 watts with the S-kit, so we're almost talking apples and oranges here.

It's doing much better with the larger juice holes. These things sure do taste good when the wick is wet.

edit: Sorry about the plagiarism RickCain, didn't see your post
