Well it makes sense since you can carry guns in most places (correct me if I'm wrong) over there. The risk for authorities is surely higher.

Here you would have to go through a year of paperwork, police training weekend, fees and MAYBE you would be allowed to have a permit to own and carry a 6.35mm caliber gun (I think they don't even make those anymore) which you probably have to buy from a museum.

Moonbogg here (Whittier, CA) said, that the states cops would have jumped on that. I'm not saying all US policemen are bullys, but there is a bit more action over at your place, isn't it, so they must be more cautious.

Moonbogg is in CA. Whole different world over there. They don't let most law abiding citizens have firearms over there....

Over here they tell you to turn off the car, hands on the wheel and stay in the car. They never turn their back on you.
Haven't been stopped in 45 yrs. tho ,so haven't had to test them

Well that's a thing I've never experienced too... Then again, never been to the States..

That firearm thing. Why is that? What is that devil that drives the man to arm himself over there? And that gun-pride in the socials...

    Thanks.

CA as California? I read something about California in my local news paper today... Don't they want to ban ecigs in all public places?

Dunno about CA, but over here in Latvia the same law, that applies to tobacco cigarette use, applies to ecigs...

Well I don't want to derail the thread even more but here, politicians were smarter. They didn't ban or tax ecigs but as of January 1st, all e-liquids are taxed at 0.60€ per milliliter.

100ml costs 60€ right now just in taxes (about US$70)

Time to stash up fast over here :(

Btw has anyone noticed any discolouration of the spring? I'm assuming it looses it's impact on conductivity? Mine isn't silver, it's gone browny white even with cleaning with isopropyl.

    Anyone else had this?

Just think little arcs with eliquid to help it along :)

Got wonder if SM didn't care about the affects of poor connectivity and liquid mixing in a small chamber......

I have already seen a few aftermarket "fixes" but would be happier with a new base that removes juice control and allows a fixed connection between the 510 and deck. No smashing a sleeve into a nut that connects to something else.

There's more condensate than liquid in that chamber. Actually, I've never had any liquid there, just a lot of condensate drops. Nevertheless...

Just to derail quickly again: couldn't those living in many EU countries just buy handguns from countries with laxer gun laws (or bigger black market) and have them sent via courier or surface mail?

Just 7 weeks of use has caused my spring to look a little stained and the surface to become more pitted. It certainly doesn't strike me as being able to last in top condition for years. I wonder how long SM expected the spring to last or for how long they field tested it?

Give it time, there is no way one oring is going to stop eliquid from getting into the chamber with the spring. Not to mention condensation is just as bad as eliquid given how poor connections+current+moisture don't play well together.

This thing vapes too good (all about the deck, juice feeding, and new bell) to have such design flaws - the performance issues that is really holding it back from being GREAT...

That is because it won't last long. I'm voting for a new base that makes a fixed connection from the 510 to the deck.

    Hopefully SM is listening :2c:

    Well I'm in the UK.
They approached the door i carried on vaping. Asked to turn the car off etc and follow him to the police vehicle. I was following him so he had his back to me. So when it dropped he assumed it was my phone or something else lol

Yup i have heard how it is in the US!!!

It's not near as bad as they make it out to be. Mostly treat them with respect and they will treat you with respect. I know a bunch of the local cops, real nice folk actually.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

This. Cops get killed over here all the time. They are very cautious.

Why? Because our forefathers fought and died against a tyrannical empire. To keep this from happening in the future they gave us the right to keep and bear arms.

I don't understand your "gun-pride in the socials" comment so I can't address that.

kinda hard to do without proper connections as you don't know what you're buying nor from who. There is a lot of phishing going out there. Besides, whats the point? You get caught with an illegal weapon, you go to jail, you defend yourself using the illegal weapon, you go to jail, heck, survival might be the only reason but at what cost? You survive to shatter your life and spend the next 25 years in jail?

Don't know... there are very very few situations that would justify the use of a illegal weapon. Protecting your family yes but the rest...

Anyway, the crime rate here is so low... 114 murders in 2011, 122 murders in 2012 in a country with 10 million people... not sure it is worth it.
