LMAO-I'm the reverse. Born in N.C. (Ft Bragg) but lived there only 3 months and grew up outside of Chicago in NW Indiana. But I'm sure our accents are the same sans I have zero southern slangs/accent.

I'm an hour away from Fort Bragg. Somewhere along the way we passed each other on I-65. I was waving at you. Didn't you see?

Every wick I use is too long to begin with and must be trimmed. Nevertheless, I can trim one wick to be longer than another.

I knew what you meant. I've been following every conversation that has anything to do with wicking these damn things. Mine just won't flow enough juice to suit my vaping style

Ha! I'm an Army brat and was born in Ft. Bragg myself. Only lived there for about a year. Then went to TX, CA, Germany, SC, AK, CO and finally moved to Jax, FL in '76. I'm not sure what kind of accent I have but it really doesn't matter as I have had several women tell me that they love my voice. :D

Yes trimmed shorter. ;)

One of the things I dislike about the v4 is that, unlike the KFL+, the lower chimney can't be used to measure the wick, but the tails must be trimmed individually.

That being said, I noticed that mine wicked more reliably if the tails were trimmed slightly below the deck rather than even with it. Less cotton, in either thickness or length, has never been the solution to any wicking problem I have experienced.

Recieved an email from Self-e-Steam (Svoemesto dealer where I bought my K4):

We have recently communicated that under Dutch Act #456 dated 24.11.2014, it's prohibited to sell atomizers with the capacity over 2 ml and e-liquids in bottles larger than 10 ml in The Netherlands.

We are happy to inform you that we have received a clarification from the Ministry of Economic Affiars that the law prohibits the sale of these products in The Netherlands, but we are free to continue the exports of our goods outside of the country.

We will therefore continue to sell and support our product line for all our customers overseas.

Best regards,

Aselle & Oz.

In others words, "Here in the Netherlands, we feel vaping is a health hazard. So we will limit sales to our own people but if you want to kill people outside of our borders to make a few bucks, have at it!"

Mine wouldn't wick my high VG juice worth a damn without a generous amount of Rayon on the deck. I tried everything imaginable, forked tails, super thin tails in the holes, thick tails in the holes, fan tails above the holes, against the walls, away from the walls, etc. I even tried completely removing the wick and coil and it still wouldn't flood the chamber!

What is your style?

Lung hitting 100% VG* at 25-35 watts

Many people use the lower chimney as a guide to trim the wicks; I certainly do. Pop the chimney on and trim the wicks about 3mm past the chimney, fluff them a little and fold them down towards the deck!

There are some pics of qorax' build somewhere pages ago where he has cellucotton wicks more than 3mm past the chimney section. I do about 3mm with KGD, but it seems that with rayon you can make them longer as it wicks a little better.

I thought "Here in the Netherlands we have vested interest in tobacco companies dollars and tax from cigarette sales, but we may seem biased if we ban vaping; so we'll just make it inconvenient for vapers. But we don't care if other countries lose tobacco tax dollars; in fact, the more you sell to them, the more tax you will pay us."

This is a bit drastic, but the tank was worthless to me the way it was. I'm still testing, but so far, so good. Straight VG with Rayon at 40 watts and the juice is flowing like water now. I'll post up more pix when I finish it up.

That works too. There is more than one sentence between the lines. :)

This looks like a LOT of work. Very impressive. Any flooding now? Did you drill out the juice holes in the bottom deck where the wicks's touch?

Yes, I drilled the deck as large as possible, but there isn't much room. I also increased the width of the juice "slot" below the deck that feeds the vertical juice holes. It looks like I have the juice flow solved for now, but I want to increase the air flow a little, so who knows what will happen when I do that. I have another idea for the juice holes in the deck which will increase their capacity substantially in case the increased air flow causes a problem.

I've removed so much metal that this thing holds well over 4ml now...winning!

Oh damn! How's the flavor now? Has it negatively affected it? I want a Kayfun V4.bneat :p

+1 on this - inquiring minds want to know. :)

Another question for you, did you use a dremel? What bit? Ok...that was two more questions.

All the comments on the feeding were helpful. It's working a bit better today as long as I pull hard and don't chain vape. Obviously this won't do. :)

I suspect it's related to the tighter draw I'm getting at times. Not building enough negative pressure to pull in e-liquid? Something is not quite right because the KFL+ with a much tighter draw feeds just fine. Not all adding up yet, but will continue with some trial and error until this is wicking more reliably. If/when I find I sweet spot I will be sure to share in case it's helpful to anyone else.

No, I made small changes, one at a time, and tested between every change to insure I wasn't adversely effecting the flavor. After all, that is the best and most important aspect with these tanks. The flavor is still fantactic, but the cost is through the roof! At a modest $75/hour shop rate, I have over $2,000 in this tank so far!

No Dremel here, hardly any "hand-work" at all. I had to run the full gambit of tool and die equipment at my disposal.
