It will be europe-wide some time in May! All EU member states which includes Portugal mate!
That sucks :(

I only have one tank atomizer in Nano mode with 3ml and I guess the Chinese will keep on making bigger ones. They might restrict sale at eu level but they can't inspect every package coming from oversees.

Somehow I feel relieved having a four year nic stash in case they want to screw us more. I need to horde up more nic [emoji14]

you should have a look at the TPD regs. They are pretty nuts. No juice to be sold in larger than 10mls or >20mg. Thdre are also restrictions on advertising, web exposure, vape meets etc etc etc etc etc. Total and utter madness! On this single issue, and regardless of all the potential downsides for the UK, I will be voting for EU exit at the referendum. Enough euro-BS already...

We're not far behind you in the States. Too many people who want to tell other people how to live their lives.

No. Its too much influence of Big Tobacco in places they really shouldnt be having influence in. The whole thing, eu and stateside, stinks of ineptitude, bloody minded ignorance and worst of all, corruption at high levels. They will be exposed at some point but not before the industry is essentially crippled and potentially millions of vapers return to smoking, or smokers never get the chance to try it.. Disgusting..These regulations are set be viewed by history as some of the most delinquent and regrettable legislation ever foisted on the populations of affected nations. Makes me spit...

ps anyone relying on China to keep innovation flowing and maintain access to vaping gear should know that there is a chance of a complete ban in China also...Its pretty grim people. Hopefully common sense will prevail at some point but it will get worse before it gets better, of that I am sure!

I can understand some of the restrictions. People are idiots. I bet there is a big share of them letting juices everywhere in the house. A kid drinking 10ml of 20mg nic might get pretty nauseous but probably won't die like the other one that drank a big bottle of 100mg nic . People are stupid.

I can't understand the 2ml limit on atomizers though nor the restriction on meetings and such.

Do you have a link to those tpd regs?

Cheers
Tony

I blame the pols. They take money from the lobby groups. They could say no. But they don't. And they keep getting re-elected so ultimately it is the voter's fault.

I think you'll find links to what is known about the details of teh TPD section 20 I think that deals with e-cig legislation...It doesnt make for very happy reading! On the subjest of corruption, have a look at the first item on NHS prescrition of e-cigs, or at least one that have been approved that just happens to come from British American Tobacco - funny how many Tory MPs past and present have been taking bungs from them for years....It really beggars belief...

edit: for em, the biggest issue is going to be juice supplies - either they will dry up, or be very restricted and 5x the price. I will lay in some nic supplies very soon but whatever i can store wont last forever....

Another thing is that it appears that Germany are unilaterally going to ban flavourings. With that I have some sympathy as, ofr me, flavourings are the greatest unknown. If vaping does ultimately prove to be more harmful than we currently think (and I dont think it will), it will surely be the flavourings that cause the trouble...

He might not have enough capital to make enough.
That I seriously doubt. How many v4s have they sold over the last 18 months or so?? Many thousands probably, at well over £100 a piece and a decent margin I'm sure. Add in the other models, especially the lite and lite plus along with mod sales, spares, juice etc. I dont think companies like Svoemesto are short of cash at this point. I mean @qorax has eight Lite/Lite plus just on his own lol!!

As it seems, each eu member is transposing the eu directive and, if it wants adds further restrictions. The eu directive defines the minimum members must adopt.

I checked the Portuguese legislation and they basically transposed the directive and only added a few extras. The 0.6€ tax is already in place since last year. The definite prohibition of smoking and vaping in closed public spaces in a 5 year span was added and here comes the special one: forbit ecig online sales. Inside the eu it's ridiculous. They can't impose it. Outside the eu, it's another matter. I couldn't determine if it would affect only liquids or hardware but if the latter, any package caught by customs from, say fasttech, will be seized and destroyed. By my experience, that's half of the packages in transit. Not good.

Oh well...

I'm just stocking nic at -23C. I have a few colleagues working in the bio department that are using 12 year old, deep frozen, nic in their scientific studies and no significant degradation was noticed by them.

I'll stop hijacking the thread now but I just want to say that I wouldn't be surprised that SM would follow eu rules about the 2ml limit for atomizers.

Cheers

What is the EU? I don't get it.
:)

It's like having 50 states sharing some legislation and free circulation of people and goods but with the difference that you always pay the state's taxes of the product you're acquiring regardless of your location.

I think that pretty much resumes it in vaping terms [emoji14]
