Curious to try TI wire with it -- I don't like straight nickel with it. Burnt hits and funky flavor.
Burnt hits?????!!!!!! Yikes! That sucks. Why are you getting burnt hits? Temp too high? NP setting to high? For the past month I've been on a Ti kick. All my RTA's have Ti in them. IMHO it's a lot easier to work with. You're able to do contact coils, dual coils, and smaller coils because of the resistance being higher than Ni200 and it not being as flimsy.

Working with annealed for so long, I've gotten it down to a science. Never had the pleasure of working with tempered. However since Ti came into my life, Ni200 is being less and less used in my builds. I just ordered the Smok TFV4 full kit and I'll do both Ti and Ni200 builds in that sweet lookin rba.

For you folks that say working with Ni200 coils is a pain because of the nickel wire being too flimsy .... are you talking about the standard "Annealed" nickel wire, or the stiffer "Tempered" nickel wire?

Also plain annealed nickel work hardens with a few rounds of stretching it. I stretch the wire a few times before wrapping a coil.

I still can't get past the low resistance though. A dual coil build was always rocket surgery to cram enough wraps in without shorting to something. Ti has just been a lot easier all around.

Thinking about getting one of these Sxk tc chip mods.

Is the nebula the only one that suffers from no "weak battery" issue? Or does the VS, VF, and zero mods have the same issue?

From what I read there's 3 versions of the SXK chip.
- low ohm reading & says low battery & not asking if new coil
- low ohm reading & throttling & asking if new coil
- fixed ohm reading & throttling & asking if new coil
From top to bottom 1-V1 2-V2 3-V3 same chip is used in all of SXK's mods. So if you get versions 2-3 there will be no "weak battery" message. It'll just decrease the watts until something around 2.7 volts?

So I'm assuming the nebula has the v3. The the VS has the v1.

Question is, once the throttling starts is it too late. Would I have damaged the battery already?

I have the Nebby with the V3 board. As for what version is in the VS clone, that'll be determined by how many they sold of the old units to make way for the new board or if they recalled them or whatever. The only thing you could do is email whatever vender you're purchasing it from and ask them if the ohm reading has been fixed in the models they have in stock. If they have the VS with the corrected ohm reading then you'll know you have the latest chip. As for the Nebby or any other v3 board sending your batteries to their graves, that's not true. It will drain them pretty far, but you'll notice the wattage not staying put, as in throttling down, in NON TEMPERATURE mode and in TEMPERATURE mode the vape will become weaker and weaker. As for me, I replace the battery when it gets to a little less than half on the battery meter to be safe.

Thanks for the advice! I don't think efun will be able to answer the question about ohm reading. Communication is not their forte.

Their VS has the small screen. Is that an indication of chip version, since the nebby has the big screen.

I don't think screen size, big or small, indicates chip version. You have your heart set on the VS clone huh? This link is what SXK directly wants people to order their mods from they might have newer stock - http://www.dhgate.com/product/facto...-vaporflask/250320171.html#s3-19-1b|948661497

Haha it's a toss up between the nebby and vs. the zero would be nice too. Only thing is the 510 pin not being spring loaded.

Or I can bite the bullet and get all three. But that overkill.

I've read that people have have the VF die on them or their 510 be defective.

Anyone have any issues with their SxK mods besides the quirkiness of the chip? As far as build wise?

Have the brass one. Tonight topped it with a brass derringer clone and headed to the bar for dinner.

Received a couple "what is that" comments. Fog bank was rolling in lol.

Tiny derringer clone in brass makes a perfect dripper for this little guy. If I could only find a brass or gold plated goblin mini for the perfect tank . . .

I'll make easy for you. Get the brass SXK Nebula. I got mine from 3fvape.com. love it, stiff 510 spring, large bright crisp screen, solid brass, clicky BB tactile buttons, latest chip. Works awesome in power mode and pretty good in temp control. Haven't heard about any problems yet on this about it. You won't be disappointed. If you want a less heavy Nebby, get the silver or black, they're made from aluminum.

You gone and done it now!

Black nebula, u well crown, and coils in the cart. I told myself I won't buy another mod until my xpv200 came.

Guess I needed a beater mod. I gotta check if this is an exactly 1:1 so I can get a wrap for it from jwraps.
