The Ti TC firmware on the m class appears to e Schizophrenic. Mine works fine and is stable. Several others have reported problems with both the temp level and stability. I have no idea what is going on.

Duane

I am starting to wonder if the download has been changed at some point

Early adopters seem to be ok

Its the only pattern I see so far

Mine also works fine and is stable also. Subjectively more so than Ni200

Quantum,

That would be easy to check the "RAR" file had a 32 bit CRC of B62CB9EF. It any anyone has a download with a different CRC value then the version they have is corrupt or changed.

Quantum,

I don't believe the file has been changed the version on YiHi site is the same CRC value as mine and mine was downloaded as soon as it was first available.

That does not rule out corrupt downloads.

It does exude Symptoms of MPD for some.

In its defense, it could be a corrupted Download or Install as well. This does occur somewhat regularly in Apps and Program Add-Ons. So, safe to assume it can also happen with mod Chip Upgrades too. It's nothing but a zipped Batch of Code after all.
Hmmmm. Speaking of Zipped,,, It's an .rar Format which must be downloaded then "un-zipped" using a Program inherent on the individual Computer. Given the fact that there are a ton of different Programs that can accomplish this and that performing that un-zippering adds yet another means of possible corruption; the Issue could be a faulty RAR Unzip Program which slightly messes up the Coding therein prior to Install. Not enough to be un-installable or unrecognizable by the SX but just enough to add a "Devil" to the Detail. That could explain how it downloads, unzips, installs, upgrades, and performs without Issue for some and not for others.
Just saying. Who the Heck really knows.
IF that was the Root Cause, a simple Uninstall and reinstall wouldn't help or effect a Solution as the Issue arises outside (actually in the middle) of the Code Upgrade itself.
I ain't got the patience or the desire to go through the necessary Process of Elimination.

Enough Phantom of the mod sleuthing. Just accept what is, run on the Ni200 Profile, get a tasty vape, and be Happy for now.

Wow Holman. You are scary dude. Most of my students would think crc stands for... Well I can't tell here lol.

Regards
Tony

Sent from my keyboard through my phone or something like that.

Don't let any one know Tony but I do have occasional moments of lucidity. I try to prevent it but occasionally it just jumps out there.

Nice one, Hat off to you Sir

With resistances being locked in ok and matching steam engine especially as its affecting a TP Guru @Vlad1

We know its not the tank [3x subtank mini ], its not the build as matches steam engine

Only leaves firmware or bad batch of wire

I used WinZip to unzip the Rar file if that could be the issue

Quantum,

You worry me with the "bad batch of wire" comment. A while back I watched a video on Ni200 and the reviewer made the comment the the biggest variations he could find he attributed to different brands of wire that he had tested.

According to Duane Ni200 can display more anomalies than Ti does because of things like Curie Temperature, and the effect that impurities have on the wire. That said I guess Ti still has the possibility of being bad and/or mislabeled.

We need the Wizard Duane or the Wizard's apprentice Tony to step in and set us straight.

Quantum,

I haven't used Winzip in a long time but I am sure you can look inside a file with it and it will also display the 32 bit CRC value and they should match.

As far as WinZip unzipping a RAR file incorrectly my money says that ain't gona happen. Winzip has been around a very long time and if there were any incompatibilities between the two programs It would be all over the WEB at the speed of light.

Yeah I was not doubting winzip as my installation seems fine mate

Just mentioning it so others having problems can get a free download of winzip and illiminate their original unzipping tool

The chance for a "bad batch of wire" for a wire labeled Grade 1 titanium is virtually nil EXCEPT if it were purchased from a dishonest/fly by night vendor. The temperature coefficient of resistance for Grade 1 titanium is almost perfectly linear in our temperature range of interest and much less sensitive to trace element composition than Nickel 200.

If there is a problem with temperature control with titanium grade 1 wire the last thing I would think about is "bad batch". That's so unlikely as to vanish off the worry list.

Cheers Duane

That only leaves a bad broken/corrupt download or an issue with the unzipping programme then
