Well, they must have made some changes because I just dropped a new carto in my stainless steel tank and it vaped perfectly without any prep (it was already pre-cut).
The only difference I can see is that the carto in the stainless steel tank is much more loose than the Delrin tank in that, I can slide the tank upward quite easily where as my Delrin tank, it required a bit more effort to separate the tank from the carto for filling.
Also, are you guys taking your tanks apart? That is the only thing I can see that might cause the tank to crack, the end caps, while they 'can' be removed, this puts stress on the tube.
Or maybe you are screwing the tank in by gripping the tube portion of the tank, I always screw mine in by gripping the drip tip. Once it is tight enough that the drip tip starts to slip (or the drip tip doesnt turn anymore with very light force), I stop.
I cant imagine eliquid having components that would cause enough wear in less than a year to cause the tank to crack. If it does, I question whether that eliquid is safe for vaping...
Keep in mind also, if a crack forms in the tank while you are vaping, you may not notice until much later - particularly if the crack forms in a location that would not affect the liquid leaking - until the tank is re-oriented, repositioned, or even removed.
Of course, running the tank over with a truck might pose a problem too but I would assume you would know that is causing it.
