Anyone have luck using twisted 28g SS430 coil in TC? Single and dual coils have seemed finein TC. Just twisted seem to spike temp protect immediately and drop to minimal wattage.
Perhaps the individual strands within the twists are conducting to each other...causing more parallel paths of current...thus erratic resistance? Should I dry burn harder to avoid this?

I'm using twisted SS430 in a RDA, dual coils. Nothing erratic going on, just a nice smooth vape.

Thanks, @ThunderDan . do you do anything special to the wire before twisting? I'm burning lightly with a lighter to cut back on springiness, twisting, then wrapping my coil. I'm pulsing in wattage mode to test for proper glow. Anything you are doing that i'm not?

Not having the same issue with TI
Pretty much the same, except I don't anneal it with a lighter before twisting. I just cleaned it up, put two ends in the drill chuck, twisted to the point where it almost wanted to kink itself (you don't want that to happen), then wrapped, and did light pulsing once installed to make sure I had even glowing. I think that build is 8 wrap on a 2.5mm bit, came out to around .24ohm.

Yep, using twisted in multiple subtank+'s, crown, goliath v2, billow v2, cthulhu v2, and aromamizer. Like ThunderDan, I clean it with IPA first then twist it with a drill. At this point, I've been making one large loop on a Velocity deck and pulse it to remove some of the spring, then I coil, install, give it some test pulses to make sure it's glowing properly, then wick and use.

I don't know what RDA/RTA you're using, but have you double checked the screws holding the coil legs? I've had a few that needed to be re-tightened after pulsing.

Using a hastur. I've checked all the post screws. Maybe my wicking is a bit loose.... Hmm
I've got a twisted SS430 dual coil build in my Hastur right now. That one worked as well, one thing about the hastur was the included hex key wasn't the right size, at least on mine, so I use a precision hex screwdriver, H1/16 fits much better, and I can tighten down to make a solid connection without worrying about stripping out the grub screws.

It's the best way to vape 28g SS430 IMO.

Interesting that the recorded data shows that the set temp of 470 was never reached although power stabilized at 70w. What mod was used?
I think that was on my flawless dna200 IIRC. If I take a lighter draw it will hit 470, and regulate the wattage down as necessary. That was a rather forceful draw in that example with a pretty wide open airflow (anarchist comp cap).

I think preheat time was reached
Correct.

For all those Yihi SXM M Class lovers this was uust posted by Perry on FB...

Folks a final version for the M Class software will be released very shortly. You can pick Ni200, Ti, or set your own wire TCR and use say SS. Then when you synch your coil you have an option to set a temp offset in degrees C ...

If they are supporting TCR adjustments that will be awesome!

Perry stated that if you use SS or any other special wire needing TCR to PM him directly. He has been using the update for a while he said.

Having a TCR adjustment will be awesome! I can't wait to try the SXM with my Kanthal NiFe52 wire when it arrives soon hopefully from Unkamen from the pre-order. :smokie:
