Since the Unkamen NiFe52 didn't turn out as planned and the zivipf stuff will take some time, I ordered some 26ga NiFe52 from VapeVine and with shipping it was just slightly cheaper than the Cottonman site. While I don't support companies overcharging for wire, I really want some NiFe to test out and at least I'll be able to compare it to what zivipf offers.

@funkyrudi For the sake of perspective which model Keithley Micro ohm meter are you using? Seeking an idea of the cost. Veilen Dank!
Keithley 580
the second hand prices are far to high today - I bought it quite cheap with other stuff years ago.

Bitte :)

funkyrudi - Thanks for the clarification. I was very curious because I hadn't seen anyone with the Zivipf A52 post how the builds compared to Steam Engine predictions. I'm also curious if anyone besides me noticed the resistance starts out way lower then predicted at least for contact coils until oxidized. So low in fact that if I'm shooting for say a .12Ω build it won't even fire to pulse unless I've pre-torched the coils.

Your case
I can`t find the Ohm/ft on Zivipf but the Ohm/m which is 3.8 Om/m for AWG27
1 m = 3,28084 ft
1.1528 Ohm/ft * 3,28084 = 3.79086572 Ohm/m I dont care the extra 0,00913Ohm/m

I think Zivipf's websight auto converted the ohms as part of translation & it probably just rounded up to 1.2Ω per ft
When I open this link it shows resistance in imperial units?
http://www.zivipf.com/epages/638622...roducts/NiFe48-0.35/SubProducts/NF48-0.35-10m

Here's how I wound up with the authentic Kanthal Nifithal 52 sample. I requested A Us Wire supplier get some & they provided me with the sample to test, however their datasheet was not from Kanthal & I was told if ordered it would be the same as the sample, but from China. I did not pursue that possibility any further.

Eh mine unkamen order shows chicago but regarding your tests so far I am sending cancelation note in advance. Sure not sending it back at my expense ( hope they dont try to get out on tech. stuff). Going for zivipf 48 eq 52 nife instead.
Email sent, really pis...d they didint deliver what they advertise.

I must have been blind, because I switched to the English version too - happens sometimes. ;)

The Nifethal wires have metric sizes. When you select in SE a AWG 27 it will show 0,361mm and a resistivity of 3.61 Ohm/m. But it´s a 0.35mm wire and when you select this size, you´ll get a resistivity of 3.85 Ohm/m. ( Zivipf says 3.8 Ohm/m )
when I calculate the Ohm/m with Kanthals Electrical resistivity at 20°C Ω mm2/m 0.37, I get 3.84575 Ohm/m

Oh sorry forget my post - I only calculate my builds by the rule of thumb

So, how about THIS:

My Kooper Mini was useless for SS, though it worked with Ni 200. I relegated it to the pile of heavily marketed bad ideas. It has sit on my coffee table taking up space.

Before putting it in the draw for HMBI's I put the SquapeRs with a 0.31 ohm NiFe 52 coil on it.

It WORKS! Amazing, just plain amazing.

My guess is that the high TCR makes the difference...

checked tracking on my so called NiFe52 from Unkamans an most recent scan is still showing as arrived in kansas city, ks at 8:20 p.m. Oct 24th
Expected delivery day is yesterday Oct 26th...wasn't in the mailbox today either.
I hope it never shows up so i don't have to bother sending it back :-x
Mine order is pretty similar. It sat in Kansas City, KS for 2 days and made it all the way to Kansas City, MO and has been there for a day and a half. It said it would be delivered yesterday.

Remember its not unkamens fault. They got screwed also. Not only was he lied to but now he has a bunch of ...... off people. If he does do refunds which I think he will then he's out cash also. Sure we are out $10 or so but if he does refunds he's out all that cash and has 300lbs of mystery wire to try and figure out how to sell. Everyone got screwed with this.

If I want to use nife30 on a mond that you can not adjust TCR values, which F or C i should put it at ? Currently using my ipv d2 with nife30. And I wanted to know how much lower i should put the temperature on. Currently I put it 30F lower. And it seems to vape very well. Will check the wick tomorrow to see how it is. But whats the general rule if there is any ?
