I PM'd him a week ago in an attempt to check on his well being, no response.
By looking at his profile it appears he is visiting the forum.
I mailed him a week or so ago and he is fine. Just looking after family etc. He is around and about checking forum and FB. Im sure he will be back soon!
I almost bought one of these with DNA30 but bought a Taifun Eye instead, yesterday I was looking into them again as now they are DNA40's

So, are we more or less not worried about, or at least accepting the risk of, TC with stainless steel wire? I remember hearing some craziness about the Chromium in SS doing funky things. Personally, from the stuff I've read, I'm going to vape it, just wanted to hear what you guys all thought. One source of my info is:

I was worried about Hexavalent Chromium, but I think that won't be a concern, even at moderately high dry burn temperatures.

I don't worry about the 22% chromium in kanthal A1 so I'm not really concerned about its presence in ss.

Hey guys, any ideas how will stainless steel 430 perform using temp control, is the TCR the same as SS317l as mentioned by Bloke? I understand that SS430 have no nickel content in it and higher chromium ....
I can't remember the last time I vaped on my DIY squoker flask, maybe a couple of weeks ago when I put dual Ti coils in it's Nuppin'. Well tonight I removed one of the coils and I like it much better. I don't think the DNA 40 had enough power to get them to shine.
Now my 200's are taking a break.

NiFe52 (NiFe48 on zivipf ) is by far the best TC wire I tried till now.
Works great on DNA200, also I use it on yihi chips at 130C and DNA40 at 160C with the best results on DNA200.
I bought the 0.35mm diameter and is really clean. It is also dry burnable (I just pulse to see if everything works ok) and is very similar to Kanthal in building a coil.
