Questions:
1.) I see that the mod made was with 2.4-2.6 ohm XL clearomizers. I have a few 2.6-2.8 ohm XL clears?
2.) Has there been any problem with a "rubber" taste coming from the washer? If so, what is the best way to thoroughly clean the washer, pre-mod, to stop this from happening?

Thanks.

I am using the 2.4's for the simple fact I can use my ego if needed. If you have a VV mod they the 2.6-2.8 would work fine.

I have been using mine for 2 weeks solid, and have gone throught about 30-40ml. I have not experianced a rubber taste and did nothing to prep the rubber. I suppose it might be prudient to use rubbing alcohol and then rinse them with water and allow them to dry.

Hope this helps.
Dan

Hey all I finally managed a MOD. WOOOHOOO thanks for all the info. I actually used Dan's info and worked with what I could find around the house as I didn't want to make a 40 minute drive to town. So used a CE2 808, a syringe, used the black rubber from the syringe for my washer, used a bit of rubber tubing over the bottom of the CE2, and a second black rubber plunger for the top. It looks and works GREAT. :)
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR PROVIDING THE INFO, YA'LL ARE GREAAAT!!!!

If you can find neoprene or a synthetic rubber for the rubber parts it would be better as rubber does break down. That's why they quit using it yrs. ago in gas and brake lines etc. That is a gret tank you come up with though Parallex. I'm planning on making a couple of them.

This isn't meant to be a permanent additon to the ....nal so I'm not real interested in long term usage....I figure a few months is worth the 3 bucks....lol; but anyone else can take up the search if they want to

Holes drilled in vial cap and bottom of vial, grommets installed, CE2 carto with steel tubing cut away inserted into bottom, and 15mm section of the steel carto tube inserted thru the vial cap and topped with a 510 delrin drip tip. No leaks yet.

What size grommet are you using? What size hole did you drill in the cap? deatails pls...
I am assuming that is a 22mm bottle from madvapes, did you use the 3/8M (21/32") beveled washers from lowes/home depot?
They are really tight and I have not had a slipping or leaking error with those. But I have had leak/slip errors with the 3/8 (5/8") washers.
Thanks,
Dan

Grommets are:
5/16" I.D.
5/8" O.D.
Thickness 1/4"

22mm vial from madvapes

3/8" hole drilled into both vial and the cap and then slightly enlarged with a tapered grinding bit.

I have used the beveled faucet washers and they work great. I plan to use them again. A buddy of mine works in a fabrication shop and he's making a punch for me. It will have the same diameter as the dead 510 atty I gave him and be easy to handle and use. I tried the grommets just because I was curious to see if I could make them work.

I like the grommet in the cap because I can pull the steel tube up off the top of the ceramic cup of the carto but not removing it from the grommet, unscrew the cap, refill, screw the cap back on, and then push the tube back down on to the ceramic cup. The grommet works well enough at the bottom of the vial too.

Cool, will have to look for those and give em a try!
Did you find them at lowes/home depot? Got a part number off the package?
Thanks again,
Dan

Didn't save the packaging from either...but found them in the "hard to find parts" drawers near the paint section. HD's are slightly different than Lowe's and twice as expensive (97 cents, but there's 2 in a package at Lowe's). It's a perfect addition to the lid; great stability, but flexible enough to adjust the drip tube to seat against the coil cap. Haven't tried them in the bottom yet. Most I'm building are the smaller version using regular CE2's so the vial bottom gets cut off, but will give it a try with an XL

When I used the 5/8OD 5/16ID Rubber Grommets from Lowes that everyone mentioned I did indeed get the "rubber" taste YUCK!!

Doing the following I have no "rubber" taste:
I used a 12mm syringe (the black marks come off easily using a razor blade being careful not to scratch the syringe)
I used an 808 CE2 XL cut off 40mm with a pipe cutter
drilled out the end the needle goes in to allow use of a 510-808 adapter and cut to 1 7/8"
I made the hole in the black plunger to accomodate the 808 connection
Used a black plunger from a second syringe cutting a hole to accomodate a drip tip.

ASSEMBLY:
Put precut rubber plunger on prepared CE2
Carefully press into the prepared syringe, you may need to use a dental pick to get the plunger seated properly.
Put second prepared plunger into top of syringe

I've been using this over a week and have had no leaking but I do use it with a 510 adapter and am not certain that lack of leaking would be the same using without the adapter.
