If they do decide to come out with colors, I would go for the green also. Georgea Interested in that Map tank you are talking about. I'm a heavy vaper too and I usually go for the high voltage, I seen a couple of people talking about them on the forum, so you are getting good vapor/flavor production from it. I'll have to look into this.

andel, definately worth checking out. Vapor and flavor are awesome. and for the price, you can't beat it.

Hey Krisb,

I started with the GGTS and AVS. Because of them, I pretty much dropped everything else. Then, enter the Darwin. I've got a GGT, and 2 GGTS's and the AVS. The GG's are now backups to the Darwin, but I still occasionally use the AVS. As much as I love my AVS, I've gotta say that the flavor from the MAP is better, so that's my primary vape toy, I reconnect the AVS from time to time, but I find myself going back to the MAP tank.

I've also got the stormy tank (or what ever it's called) and some clearomizers that also use the CE2 atty, but even still, the MAP tank is different. I don't know why, but the flavor seems better. There is a way to connect the CE2 to the AVS, Imeo did a video on it but I haven't tried it yet. I have to give it a try some day.

When I fill the MAP tank, it's great until it hits about half full, then I have to tilt it almost upside down for a second or two to force the coil to get wet, otherwise, it's a little dry. This is only because I'm a heavy vapor and mostly seem to vape every other breath. If you let is sit longer, it's fine. The CE2's don't wick as well as the AVS feeds liquid if you vape that heavily, and the flavor is definately different, again, not sure why. I have one MAP tank and just ordered a second because of the flavor difference. Imeo has the AVS V3 coming out soon that has a control ring to control air-flow, just like the current version, but also a way to control the volume of juice flow. I think I'm going to have to get this one too. Call it loyality, but I'm looking for something to make me want to go back to the AVS. The CE2 ohm's that I use are 3.0 - 3.2. Using the GG gear, I was always a HV (7.2 to 7.4V) vapor, so using the higher resistance CE2's seemed to make sense. Plus, with higher resistance, I think you have more options, especially with the Darwin.

Anyway, hope all this helps.

-George

Thank you for all the info! I'm a HV vaper, too. I could never go back to 3.7. I bought a couple of the 2.8's and 3.2's so I was prepared for anything, LOL! Now, to get the Darwin and a couple of the mini MAPs....

Yeah, it's hard for someone who isn't a smoker or who quit another way to understand. Mine is happy with the ecigs but eternally puzzled by how complicated and equipment intensive a thing I make vaping. When he's ready to quit I'm getting him a Volcano or - and this will be the first in the house - an Ego tank kit with about a gazillion tanks I'll keep locked and loaded for him.

Look at this way. Some of the juices are quite aromatic and it keeps you from thinking of other, more disturbing hobbies...like chainsaw collecting or...drums.

I have tried and tried to explain it (the equipment, time spent, the obsession) to no avail...he'll never get it, LOL. Doesn't help that he, like my son, has aspergers...so if it's not logical, forget it!

My banner says I have saved 1k...BS. I am so in the hole and I don't even have a nice big collection! At first I saved all my receipts for equipment and juice, but when it got to the point that I knew how much MORE I was spending, I gave up...why keep the evidence?

They have the reg and the mini (5ml or 2.5mls) I have the reg and am gonna jump on a couple of the mini's when they come out!
So is there any difference in the vapor/flavor with the 5ml and 2.5ml. I don't always like committing to too much jc at one setting. Maybe I will try one of each but tell me is the any difference other than the amount of jc it holds. Would love to have this with my Darwin. I had my Darwin with me today, my job involves a lot of driving and I just love the way it feels in my hand, now to have a Map or Mini Map, I don't have to worry about dipping. I've been using XL CE2 Clearomitzers prior but today I wanted to drip my fav jc so I took my 3ml with me and it was 3/4 gone by the time I got home. The Darwin uses a lot of jc, but I also like to switch flavors so thats why I may lend towards the Mini Map.

Oh Krisb, money spent, I stop counting a long time ago. I like my vaping so its whatever new whether its jc or PV if its something I think I like I want to try it. I guess I could spend it on more useless things. My daughter keeps saying don't you have enough of that stuff, I just laugh and say its my money and keep going.

I only have the reg size right now, so can't compare, but I haven't heard anyone say there was any difference other than the amount it holds. I was always a dripper before this. Tried cartos off n on, but found them to be just a little less annoying than dripping with worse flavor. Driving was always miserable having to drip every red light, and some not so safe drips while moving, lol. I haven't taken a drive since I got it 2 days ago, other than very short trips (5-10min.s) but seeing how it is at home, driving will never be an issue again!

I pretty much echo your sentiments. The 3 ohm MAP Tank is my choice......and it forces me to slow down on my vaping so it wicks properly. Not a bad habit to get in tho. Because of the quality build of the MAP, a variety of CE2's can be used. Pirate hit a home run with his creation; that's f'sure.

When I'm not using my MAP Tanks, I load up my Ghetto GG. lol

...still lookin' for an AVS for the GGTS tho.

First the bad. I do not like the activation button. Since I was unsure about the particulars of the design I asked folks on this thread about theirs and they indicated that theirs was very much the same as mine. I also emailed Envolv to confirm and got the same answer. My problem with this button is that I find that I have to concentrate on the button to keep the unit activated when this should be a no brainer. The slightest movement of my finger will shut it down and many times I don’t even realize it.
The adjustment wheel is very sensitive and the slightest touch will change the setting. Again I have to consternate on not getting anywhere near it while vaping.

The good. I really like the way it looks. I also use an AFS tank on it. Last night I was at a pub and was seated in the center of the room. I am not a heavy vaper, normally I hit it two or three times every 15 minutes or so and last night I made no attempt to stealth vape. No one, from the owner to the servers to the bartenders or the customers saw me as a smoker. As it should be. A few people were curious but my vaping was not an issue.

The great. The battery life is outstanding. As I said before I use an AFS tank so the Darwin stays on from the time I wake up in the morning until I go to bed at night. I am getting two days use per charge.
I have it set at 9.2 and the throat hit is excellent and very consistent (as long as I can keep the button activated).

Cuseguy, do you think you're going through so much juice from vaping more or due to the Darwin? Not that I'm not willing to throw in some extra juice for a great vape, just curious.

I know it's because I am really enjoying the vape quality and therefore hitting it more often and plus it's still the new toy syndrome.

The ease of turn on the dial is easily remedied. Get it set where you like it and then put a little piece of black duct tape over the dial. I had to do that with mine. The button is a much easier push when you push it at the edge closest to the atty. It also helps to use your thumb. I had the very same issue.

Thanks Parmacrafter, tape is a good temporary fix to get me used to this PV but I'm not sure I want to do that permanently. The activation button is another matter. I also found the edge closest to the atty and I use my thumb but I have to say I find this annoying. Even with my thumb the slightest movement will cause it to cut out. I think that once it’s set up like you want it using any PV should be a mindless exercise so having to worry about it firing is not good. Hopefully it’s doing this because it’s so new and in a couple of days it will loosen up… or I will get better at it.
I am almost at the end of day two on a single charge and haven’t gotten to the middle bar yet…outstanding.
