Once the regs go through ... I think a lot of parents are going to be surprised, Little Billy does not just vape zero nic.

When eliquid with nicotine becomes hard to find or triple the price .... there's going to be a lot of young cloud chasing vapers climbing the walls ... Walmart VG is not gonna cut it.

You are aware of all the science suggesting nic delivered without tobacco is not very addictive ????

GA already has language on the books that vaping is not the same as smoking. And other than our misbegotten Board of Regents (education), no blanket bans of vaping anywhere; it's left up to proprietors. My letter to my Congressman, Rob Woodall, received a very courteous reply that was very clearly not a form letter, in which he stated that he is very firmly against allowing the Feds to overtake any more of our lives than they already have; he believes that *if* any regulations are needed as to e-cigs and vaping, they should only be at state and local levels. GA is also still fighting Obamacare, and have not increased Medicaid to meet Obamacare demands. I don't think
GA will be joining the anti-vape lunacy -- we have one of the lowest cigarette tax rates in the entire country, so there's not a lot of financial incentive, and given that so many people here still smoke, GA is desperate for a way to stop all the willy-nilly death and disease incurred by smokers -- vaping is the answer to GA's prayers.

yes I hear what every1 is saying about the hardware loophole... It's a flashlight. It's a hand-held fog machine, sure! But, as-far as e-liquid BOTTLES... I have a bad gut feeling that we won't be ordering "JUICE" online as we have been. lol. the name we've given our nicotine, is enough for me to see into it's future.. JUICE? what the H were we thinking people?? lol. I have a bad feeling, we won't be ordering nicotine in PG from china any longer. I have a bad feeling our online juice vendors will be out of business eventually.

Imagine.... if you want to use your Provari Radius, your new Temp Controlled DNA200... you're gonna be screwing down a little pre-filled 510 gas-station NJOY cartomizer, & you'll be vaping it at 15 watts to avoid dry hits. I really don't want to see this future, but, it could very-well happen, if you ask me. Our "Mods" might be safe, but are we going to want to use mods, when all we can buy is pre-filled cartomizers? In THIS scenario, i would just hope that the ego style tanks survive, but they may fall victim to a ban as-well, which would really screw mod users over.

Can you imagine a world without e-liquid bottle sales? I can see flavors going out as-well, but, if we are able to order flavorless nic in bottles, we'll still be-able to order Loranne, we'll just have to all go DIY.... & if that happens, ECF will dramatically change, there will be more DIY e-liquid threads than anything else. :p

IDK. I'm sure what I've said above has already been said, or argued for/against. (in-fact I KNOW it's all ALREADY been said) I may be wrong to some points. If you've GOT the $$ to stock-up on SOMETHING.. I would focus on flavorless nicotine, stainless-steel rebuildables with no silicone/rubber/plastic inserts/insulation/glass parts, (for longevity). That's what I would focus on right now... Because tanks may become hard to purchase as-well? F that. I want to have a good collection of RDAs and RBTs, and 5, 10, 15, 20+ years worth of nicotine liquid, if I'm some1 with a good job/work. (i'm not, lol)

Oh, and hello Zoid. waassuuuuupp?? :p good 2 see familiar faces sitting around the firepit.

That's one of my main reasons for still vaping mechs at this point in the game with all the fancy hardware out there. As soon as I get stocked up a little more on juice making supplies I'm apocalypse ready.

Face to Face Only sales of Tobacco Products is a Fundamental Provision of the FSPTCA. And something that Many do Not feel there will be any 2 Grace Period granted for e-Liquids that contain Nicotine.

Good to see you again Plumes. Hope things are going well for you. And Glad to have you Back.

What do you mean? You're vaping mechs for the longevity? See, idk.. I feel like we'll still be able to buy mechanical mods online. If they are sold as flashlights or handheld fog-machines, mechanical mods (and regulated mods as-well!) should be safe from regulation! Same reason all the gas stations in my area can sell bongs as tobacco pipes. But, what is the loophole for a clearomizer or genesis tank going to be? The fog-machine liquid holder/burner? lol. If we're already using it for vaping nicotine product, they can probably regulate the designs we've created (our genesis tanks, our bottom-coil clearomizers, as tobacco-related. (this would be BAD news) so idk. We may not be able to save our tanks from the big ban, if it happens that way... Which is why I recommend buying RBAs + Liquid.

I am just trying to maximize my $$. If you dont have work, and you feel the crunch to stock-up, I would hold-off on mods completely, and rather, stock-up on stainless-steel RBAs, RBA-Tanks, & nicotine. We will always be able to get PG and VG, IMR-Batteries too, we will always be able to get cotton, and kanthal/wire, flavorings will be available to DIY, and maybe even mods will be safe, thru loophole. But we may NOT be-able to order NEW rebuildable atomizers, or RBA-Tanks, or Clearomizers, AFTER the ban takes effect. NO rebuildable attys, NO replacement coil-heads, NO clearos/tanks, NO Protanks, No BCCtanks, NO smoktech this, kanger that... So, stock-up on RBAs and Nicotine NOW, if u ask ME! That's really all we have to worry about, is RBAs and our precious nicotine!!

I just meant I continue to use them so if it gets to be where it's the only option it's no big deal because that's what I've been doing all along. Like you said stocking up on things I can fix myself or are built to last an extremely long time, along with supplies to make my own juice leaving me only to have to buy the most available supplies with other uses.

hopefully, hopeeeefully, we will be-able to order mech mods online... although they could impose a ban on mods in general, and, china could listen. they've listened to US bans in the past... for a while there, it was tough to order our mod batteries from china, due-to shipping bans. they DO listen, sometimes. & if the chinese post does listen to the US ban on mods, we very-well may be stuck without NEW mechanicals/regulated-mods. yikes. it is GOOD to have mechanical mods, BAN OR NOT- they'll be good for if/when the REAL APOCALYPSE manifests!! after-all, they'll last a good long while, even the clone mods. But I would focus on STAINLESS-STEEL-RBA's, and STAINLESS STEEL RBA TANKS, and NICOTINE, SUSPENDED IN PROPYLENE GLYCOL. (we suspect that vegetable glycerin MAY break-down or accept molds/bacteria a tiny-bit faster than PG. So, my recommendation is to buy RBAs and PG flavorless nicotine. /end rant.

Never underestimate the cooking and baking skills of a soccer mom under attack by onerous taxes. DIY is no more complex or dangerous than cooking. Just give them a reason to do it
I believe the prevailing assumption is raw materials such as PG/VG,batteries,wick and coil materials and flavors
would not be taxed as tobacco if not sold as components for an e-cig. However under the doctrine of
intended use I beleive usage can be regulated. Either the same as OTC medications requiring ID or
perhaps labeling requirements stating use of these products for regulated items is prohibited. I do doubt
there will be FDA black boots bashing down doors anytime soon. The big prize is the 90% of smokers who
and vapers would obey the law as a mater of course.

My God. What could be More Viable?

Less Harm to the User. Little Desire to stop Using e-Cigarettes. Easily Controlled on the State/Federal Level.

What more does a Tax Collector Want?
Less harm is not good enough in and of itself. There will be little desire to use e-cigs when the cost approaches
an equivalency with smoking. Look what's happening in the light beer market. It's not just the control of the
commodity. Control is no good without the revenue stream which will not be there in a regulated e-cig
market. The goal is to keep people smoking. Most notably current and future smokers. It's time tested and
works. It works for the stakeholders. BT. BP. Money starved governments.Money craving research establishments
et al.Hospitals and clinics for the prevention and treatment of smoking related illnesses. Especially the treatment.
Every single hospital in the Twin city and Rochester MN areas have or are completing massive 9 digit expansions
of facilities in anticipation of Obama care primarily. I do not doubt for one minute that the treatment of
smoking related illnesses represent a good chunk of expected revenue. Mayo Clinic,Rochester has some of
the most expensive smoking cessation programs in the country if not in fact the world. Do you think that
vaping as we know it has a snow balls chance in Saudi Arabia?

If e-Cigarettes/e-Liquids had their Own, Separate, Classification for Regulation/Taxes, so much of what Fills this Forum would not be Happening.

But Unfortunately, that Isn't happening. And if there were Only Two Choices, Drug vs Recreational Nicotine Use, we went down the ONLY Viable path.
I will admit that I haven't read the entire CASAA submission to OIRA/OMB, I've been busy and its long but I'm about half way through. However, I've noticed that they repeat numerous times that the act of deeming itself would be disastrous for vaping. This seems to be saying it's not tobacco, don't try to regulate it as tobacco, without actually saying that.

I was actually a little surprised to see that, as I had thought that they had given up that fight. Apparently what they gave up was the semantic fight over the tobacco label, while still acknowledging that placing vaping under the FSPTCA is a death sentence.

Under the new intended use doctrine I suspect these will no longer be protected.
I also believe this will turn into a giant game of whack a mole.
addictive it is though.
Nicotine alone has never been observed to cause any dependency in life time non-tobacco users period.

I just Don't Understand how you can make Statements like that? This Board is Full of People who switched for the Health Aspects.

Sure, people like to Save Money. But what good is Money if you Don't have your Health?

When beliefs trump science

True dat. Because with addiction... *believing* that one is addicted is a really big part of being addicted. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to my husband -- I couldn't live without him!!! :D

hey, when I went to juvinile hall for 2 weeks, i was a pack a day smoker... i felt NO withdrawal symptoms that entire stay. i did, however, sleep, most of my days and nights away, but, hey, i felt nothing. & that 1st cigarette was greattt when i got out. so was the 2nd. the 3rd, not so much... lol.

If i was addicted, my body didn't know it. lol. i was definitely addicted to the MAOI (harmine) in the tobacco though... it's what made me feel so goood when I'd smoke while on my pain medication. take cigarettes away from a smoker on pain-meds & you've got a real problem.

I'm Not Endorsing or Challenging anything that CASAA has said or done.

But I think there comes a Point when a Reasonable Person must Admit that something is Going to Happen. And e-Liquids that contain Nicotine being Legally Deemed as a "Tobacco Product" I think is a good Example of this.

I don't think it's that simple for most people. It might be for some. Think back to when you were smoking though, how many excuses would you make as to why it was too hard to quit. If the choice is between smoking and an equally expensive but less satisfying, more complicated experience, which would you have chosen?

Some will choose health, others won't. It took advancement and an abundance of options to get where vaping is today. Setting the clock back to the old times will not provide a viable option for most.

I think everyone knows my stance on the "tobacco" classification, but it's never been just about the word for me. If the FDA were to amend the FSPTCA so that the regulations meant to stagnate tobacco products somehow did not apply to vapor products, I might be less inclined to fight it.

The label is less important than the regulatory framework attached to that label.
