Speaking of Vanilla, ya'll, try this mix:

Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Vanilla Bourbon - 2%
French Vanilla - 4%
Bavarian Cream - 3% OR
French Vanilla Cream - 3% OR Both!!
Vanillin - 3%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweetener - 2%

That's 20% - 30% Vanilla! You can add dulce de leche at 2% and Vanilla Bean at 4% to give it that thick vanilla milkshake flavor. Adjust and sweeten to taste. Yes, Ren, we need our vanillas!

Holy Moley! That's a lot of 'nilla!

I try and design my flavorings for my vaping, and not for drippers, necessarily, and you should too. Reason is that different vaping techniques will affect your taste experience of the juice. Some juices are good in some devices, others not so much. Also, nicotine must usually be reduced when dripping versus say a Protank, and the juice could easily be adjusted for either experience. :2c:

Hmm, fair enough-and it makes sense! I am still waiting for my bridgeless attys so that I can use those for tests. Unfortunately I do not have enough tanks to switch around when I make more than 2 flavs :/ But, I do see your point....so I will continue to wait. They left China 4 days ago LOL

Thank you Bill!

When taste testing, I will sometimes use the same tank, not change the wick, but pour out the tank, hit it with water, fill with new mix, and vape. The old flavoring is out in ten draws or less and I can get a good feel for it. So, it can be done with one tank, and a quick clean out in-between, which can be far less than perfect. I'm just trying to get a sense of the flavor and identify what needs more or less, and I can do this without much effort. I can use all kinds of gear, and do sometimes, but if I want to make a bunch of different flavors one after the other, I have to use the single tank/clean between method.:2c:

Thanks Ren! The information on the coffee and chocolate is very interesting to me. We can learn so much from food preparation in our mixing. Some times they translate really well, other times not so much, but we never really know until we try! Keep it up, I can't wait to see your signature recipes emerge.

:danger: :offtopic: :matrix: :glug:  :-x

The joy of this hobby is about 80% of it....just showing up and trying. I think Woody said that, and he was right. If mixing is not your thing, it's hard to create new recipes, though still easy to follow them. It's still hard for me to believe that I can get up in the morning and vape just about anything I can conceive of. Since I'm very happy with my gear, my coils and wicks, my tools, and my juice, I have reached my personal vaping Nirvana. But the first year, when I was searching for that elusive perfect vape (for me), I just felt so driven, I bought a lot of different vaporizers and tanks and drippers, made maybe 20 different coils, tried half a dozen wick materials, and a lot of juices. Now that I've found my sweet spot in these areas, I'm very content to just vape my .... off, and play with it a little bit. I do love the mixing part. What else is left? If I'm happy with my gear and my heating/wicking elements, and my tools, what's left? JUICE BABY!!!

At one point I had 35 (A)PV's, about 25 tanks and drippers, about 50 clearos, about 20 carto tanks and gear, and I wasn't satisfied with my vape. I've sold and PIF'd all but 5 APV's, all but 10 tanks, and just mix juice when I'm in the mood. I get inspiration from real life food/dessert websites like Yummly. Go there and search for chocolate or vanilla, or cake or pie, and you'll have all the ideas imaginable! Then to TFA to order, then to the poorhouse, right? Now I buy bases by the 5 gallon bucket, Nicotine by the gallon, have 90% of all flavorings available (TFA and FW), and I couldn't be more content. Might as well share the experience, because I know it took me a good while to learn much about anything. Rather than ask a lot of questions, I just bought stuff and tried it myself. Sure I bought recommended items, but I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about. I loved my clearo phase, my carto phase (loved, loved, loved these), then finally RTA's entirely. A good Taifun with a precise micro coil and KGD with good juice on my Taifun Eye at 15 watts - That's my dream vape these days. I've tried most everything out there except perhaps some of the more recent exotic coil builds (l leave those for the youngsters), and I couldn't be happier about vaping. Even so, I'll probably give this up some day in the next year or two.....we'll just have to see. Right now......LOVIN' IT! Glad to be on this journey with all of you too! Makes it so much more fun. If I can ever do anything to help anyone in this regard, please let me know. My best to you all! And thank you Ren for always being there for everyone! It's special, and this thread needs you!

P.S. I still have a weakness for drip tips...I have well over 200 and still buy them.:facepalm: :vapor:

Bill,

You're more than welcome. I enjoy sharing. I think THAT is my personal inspiration to do this...because I love to bake. When I saw the TFA web page for the first time-I melted  That was flavor nirvana for me-in MANY ways! I realized pretty darn quickly that I could create not only juice-but could use those lovely flavors in baking as well. I didn't have any confidence in making juice, so I just got stuff for baking...... and then one night I sat down and read. And read. And READ. And I'm STILL reading and learning. It's TERRIFIC!

Right now, I'd have to say I'm with you on the perfect vape thing.... It takes a while and I know I'm not there yet. But I shall learn, as everyone else has ;)

I Love Red Velvet Cake!! I don't know how it will translate into an eliquid, but I am eager to read your findings when you create it. I'm realllllly picky when it comes to eliquid. When I started vaping, I went to my local vape shop to get set up. They have ~70 flavors. I liked probably 5. Things that sounded scrumptious just didn't taste good as an eliquid. (then again, could have just been bad quality) Some were not horrible, but not ADVapes for sure. If anyone ever needs a picky taste tester, I'm your girl! lol

The juices all of you have been posting here sound so good! In the next few days, I hope to try out a bunch of them! I'll be starting with your Cinnamon Danish and Apple Pie and Ren's Jay's Custard.

I think I have my Blueberry Vanilla Cake pretty close. At this point I am going to let it steep for a day or two and see if the flavors meld together better, but this is so close, and good as it is, that I think it is a winner (to me!)

Blueberry 8%
Vanilla cake 11%
Vanilla Swirl 6%
Bavarian Cream 3%
Cotton Candy 4%

Soooooo close I can taste it.. :)

I belong to several groups on Facebook about DIY. Just more resources and ideas. In one group they posted a web site that is working on a list of flavor descriptions. This is not just TFA flavors, so I ran it by Bill and he said to go ahead and post. TFA does not have all the flavors we might want, and I know from my small experience there are variations in flavors between companies for flavors with the same name. Thought perhaps others would find this useful. From what I understand it is a work in progress, but already a good resource.

I know this is a flavoring thread but some of it is also technique... for those who dilute their vg with distilled water I know it decreases vapor production a bit but how does it compare to vg not diluted as far as taste and mouth-feel?

I know, I could just try it but if the answer is quick it's more efficient than experimenting :)

It's literally unbelievable how much glassware is needed for this hobby. It is not safe to store this stuff in plastic. Although it is way less expensive, it will leach into the juice, particularly after 30 days. I still use plastic bottles for samples that I give away, and do still buy those in bulk, but all my personal stash is in glass bottles. Lots and lots of glass bottles. My old 1 oz TFA bottles have been recycled and I use those for daily flavorings. All juices that I provide for others I put in amber dropper bottles, or capped bottles. I like the blue the best, but they are really expensive, the amber about the same as the clear in most cases. I don't yet buy bottles by the thousand yet, so I still pay a pretty penny for these, and buy them as I need them.

If anyone has an inside track on amber dropper bottles by say the hundred, I would be very interested in the 15 ml/ 1/2 oz ones? I would appreciate anything in this regard. :2c: :toast: :vapor:

http://packagingoptionsdirect.com/glass-bottles-jars

hopes this helps, I use the 200ml amber jars and the 30ml blue with droppers

These are what I use for testing flavors they even work well in the crock pot and UC:

Amber: 2 Dram AMBER Glass Vial - Dropper - Pack of 12: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Clear: Glass Vials, 2 Dram, Pack of 12. INDLUDES 6 - 5ml. Droppers For Easy Filling: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Clear 36 bottles: Amazon.com : GLASS VIALS pack of 36 bottles : Beauty

Wizard Labs sells the droppers tops for these...2 drams hold 7.5ml...Perfect for testing your mixes without wasting too much flavor or dirtying your 30ml bottles. Like i said before even a great way to test samples in the UC or crock pot.

I made my second 200 drop mix of Bills Cinnamon Danish. 200 gives me a fill+ for my KFL. I got to thinking about the cinnamon rolls they sell at Albertsons near me and there covered with cream cheese frosting. I had some LA Cream Cheese Icing so I added 3% and I like it! Kind of takes the edge of the cinnamon and helps blend it a little more for me. Also cut my nic in half to 6mil.

I also tried the Lemon pie but didn't have any marshmallow so I substituted Vanilla swirl. It's only ok. I'll try it again. Not a fan of meringue though so I might try wiped cream instead of marshmallow. I'll get them both and try it both ways to see what works for me.

Thanks again Bill!:)
