I hate to do this but I have gone back to page 231 and read oh goodness about 20 pages...I've learned alot! I can't really afford to place another order right now and I only have enough nic for probably 3 or 4 more mixes? I'm frustrated and just want to make something good.....

I have (all TFA) ----
Bavarian Cream
Vanilla Cupcake
Ripe Banana
Peanut Butter
Pie Crust
Graham Cracker (dark)
Fudge Brownie
Caramel (original)
Marshmallow
Honey

I'm stumped - I made one mix of PB, Banana and Bav Cream and I thought it was good but now it's meh.... I'm almost at the give up stage. Reading thru what everyone has posted has made me not want to give up - I realize I need more flavors particularly fruits but that will have to wait a week or so.

I just wanna make something good! I'm asking for help - specific help. I think if I just have a taste of real success then I'll won't feel like such a failure LOL.
Try making some of the recipes that several people are saying are good. They ARE good. It's not easy to make really good juice at first. It's something we all learn. I have a post that has helped some people get started on this DIY journey here (How New juice Makers Can Make Great Juice Today):

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-juice-makers-can-make-great-juice-today.html

Here's some good pies you can try, and I assure you they are good:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../6760-flavor-apprentice-flavoring-thread.html

If you have something specific in mind, we can help. Just let us know. The Community here have posted at least 100 good recipes over just the last two or three months. What is it you might want to shoot for? :D

I think it's the amounts where I get messed up? I know how to use the calculator I have that down....I need to start writing everything down (First thing first right?)

Oh I forgot to list Cinnamon Sugar Cookie!

Anyway - I've been trying to pin down a Banana creme pie but it's not coming out right and I think my main problem is not writing things down.
I'm sticking with

Banana
Bav. Cream
Graham Cracker or Pie Crust

1st attempt WAYYYY too much Banana. 2nd one I have here is not bad its actually comparable to Nude Nicotines it's just not creamy enough for me.

This is the only one I actually saved --

Fudge Brownie 8%
Cin Sugar Cookie 8%
Caramel 2%
PB 2%

This one isn't bad it just tastes very dry?? I made it 4 days ago and I've kept trying it - it's not bad at all just needs something?

the problem with the banana cream pie is your using ripe banana. i have both ripe banana and banana cream and they are totally different. you need the banana cream for the pie in my opinion. its very creamy and the banana is not the ripe taste. in my opinion the ripe banana is more of a candy flavor banana

also watch the ripe banana it wil eat plastic tanks and some syringes

I have been in the process of placing an order with wizard Labs for like 3 days. It's so hard to make up my mind.
Someone said buy based on recipes...I think I'm just overloaded. I know for sure get ethyl maltol - vanillas - some fruits. Anything else I should definitely get? What about smooth and sour or tart n sour? I just want to try and grab most of what I'll need - of course there will always be more flavors to get but I think you guys know what I mean.

Oh what about AP? Should I grab that or no need?

As you review many of the recipes on this thread, you're going to notice that you are missing some key flavorings. These would include vanilla swirl, sweet cream, Sweetener and cotton candy. It's going to difficult to make many juices without these basics, and there are others, as well, including fruits, as you mentioned.

I would select a recipe or two that sounds good to you, order any missing TFA flavors required, and then just make some of the recipes. Good luck! :D

Anybody have any idea's on a starting point for a pumpkin roll flavor? My wife brought one home from the store yesterday, and i forgot how good those things tatste,so now my brain's hurting trying to work it into a juice flavor.I know it would obviously have pumpkin, and i think the filling is cream cheese,so that cream cheese icing will come in handy for that part, but not really sure what else it may take to get it there.I'm thinking maybe the vanilla cupcake, but not really sure since a pumpkin roll seems to be more almost like a bread than a cake i think,i could be wrong though haha.I definitely have the pumpkin flavor covered,i have both pumpkin spice and regular pumpkin flavor, got the cream cheese on the way,i just can't pinpoint where to go with the rest of it.

Back to "business"-

I would say either Cinnamon Cookie or Cinnamon Danish if it were me. And then to take care of some of the odd nuances that those rolls have, I'd add Graham Crust. I've not read the rest of the thread, just got back from the store and fixing to sit down and start making stuffs-but, that's what I'd do :vapor:

Alrighty folks!

I'm going to finish organizing my portable vape lab (this is what I've decided to call her) and I will share when I am done. Thank you again firechick for such a terrific starting point for organizing all these lovely things we need for this. I can't wait to have it alllllllll labeled out and everything at my fingertips! I spent about 2 hours this morning working on it-cleaned a bit-another half hour-went to the store-now I can hunker down!

THEN!!

I can start having some lab time! :toast:

I agree with Nate, the ripe banana works best when used with either Bananas Foster or Banana Cream. On the chocolate recipe, you are probably missing sweet cream and TFA Sweetener, and likely vanilla swirl. You can't really make a good chocolate without vanilla, cream and sweetener, just like in real life. Butter helps too. That being said, the fudge brownie is the closest to any of the TFA chocolates that is vapable, imho. Here's my List of Basic Flavorings:

Basic Flavorings

Vanilla Swirl
Vanilla Custard
Vanilla Cupcake
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Sweet Cream
Bavarian Cream
French Vanilla Cream
Dulce de Leche
Cotton Candy
Sweetener
Brown Sugar
Graham Cracker
Pie Crust
Marshmallow
Sweet and Tart
Butter
Cinnamon Danish
Hazelnut
Koolada

Fruits:

Lemon
Apple
Banana Cream
Bananas Foster
Juicy Peach
Pineapple
Coconut
Strawberry
Raspberry

You will use these ingredients in 99% of your mixes. Of course, there are many others, but if I were starting out, knowing what I now know, these are the first ones I would buy. Single ingredient mixes will only vary rarely work. You do need the creams, vanillas and sweeteners which not only add depth, richness and texture, but also act as primary flavor enhancers. They work wonders. :D

Just a little tip to share for those using bridgeless atomizers to test flavors. I mixed up a small bottle of PG/VG. After trying a flavor, I vape some of it to help clear the flavor out. Some flavors, such as cinnamon red hots, are hard to clear out. So, I keep one atomizer that I only use for that type of flavor. (would also do this if I did menthol)

I have referenced a couple of the extensive posts I have done and added them to "My Blogs." Here's a list. I got tired of trying to find them over and over and just blogged them to keep them handy:

Basic Flavorings for new DIY'ers: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...entice-flavoring-thread-basic-flavorings.html

Pie Recipes: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../6760-flavor-apprentice-flavoring-thread.html

How New Juice Makers Can Make Great Juice Today: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-juice-makers-can-make-great-juice-today.html

I hope some of this information is helpful. It may help you get up and running quickly. It took me a good six months before I got to my first ADV. I almost gave up, but I had a sizeable investment and didn't want to "lose" it. I kept up, and accidentally discovered many of the flavor and juice making tricks over the next couple of years. So, I know how you feel. As Reni said, you are very, very close Monica, but missing a couple of flavorings, that need to be in your mixes to make them POP. :toast:

Good Luck and thank you for participating! :D

So true! Just add strong cinnamon or menthol to anything. You can't hardly get rid of it. Yet, a lot of vapers really like the fire and ice combination juices, as well as the stand alones. Right on, Debi! :toast:

Find a Banana Cream Recipe that looks good to you. I have both a banana cream and a bananas foster recipe, myself. Get the flavorings and make them, then adjust them to suit your taste sensibilities. All anyone can do for us is get us close, then we MUST adjust recipes to suit our preferences. I would not order AP in a first order, but rather all three of Belgian Waffle, Graham Cracker and Pie Crust, which, when used together in varying percentages are far more flavorful and flexible than AP, and will be used in many, many recipes.

Update on my Danish Recipes.

I've been researching Danish recipes this morning with the real thing. I'm full, and quite content! :D

I don't get a lot of doughy taste from any of them. The fill, frosting and icings are so strong, they drown out the "bread" flavoring. I get butter, for certain, and just a touch of perhaps a waffle/graham cracker/pie crust type of flavoring.....but just a touch, perhaps 1 or 2% out of a 20 - 30% mix. I am probably going to proceed accordingly and just focus on the "toppings." This will make it easier to make as well. :2c:

It's not that something is NOT there, because SOMETHING IS THERE, but it's subtle. The sweet flavorings completely overwhelm this SOMETHING. Just wanted to share this observation with the TFA Vape Meet Participants. Toppings is the key, and if anyone knows what the subtle something IS, please let us know! :toast: :D :vapor:

Wow you guys are great! I was gonna reply to the actual posts but then realized the were a bunch that were so helpful!
Thanks for the flavor list that's awesome. And the kick in the a** I needed - I'm gonna place my order now.
Sorry for being a total noob to diy but I'll get there and hopefully soon I can contribute to this thread instead of just asking for help!
