I think they mean use at your own risk. I do use some juices that are so called bad for you. I like the flavor and to me it is still a whole lot better than smoking. So if it keep me off cigs it is worth the risk to me.
I agree, and when you think about how small the amounts are when you add flavoring to your juice,i think that risk is actually alot smaller.I mean most flavors aren't going to be more than 10% or so of the total mix,and the amount of diketones in that flavor is small to start with,so using such a small amount then diluting it with other flavors and base,i have no concerns about that issue.I do like the fact that tfa and a few others put it up front when it is in a flavor, but at the same time,it wont stop me from using it,so i dont pay attention to it anymore.

Yep, diketones. They exist, and I personally vape them. Hell, I used to scoop popcorn at a movie theatre, so it's not like I'd never have inhaled diketones if it weren't for vaping. But, that's just me, and I appreciate the effort TFA goes through to be transparent while letting me make my own decisions, an ideal state of affairs.

I finally got back to mixing for fun a little bit yesterday - I've stepped into the world of mechs and higher-power vaping (~40 watts) and I'm finally seeing my juice consumption increase above 3ml/day, so it's kind of urgent.

I tried to stick to flavors I got from TFA directly in large sizes, and I'm still tweaking my personal strawberry blend, as I've had the most success with it. Anyway,

Strawberry (not ripe) 12%
Sweet Cream 5%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 3%
Vanilla Custard 2%
Sweetener 2%
Cotton Candy 2%

I had been using 15% strawberry and 5% blackberry, but my tastes are definitely changing over time, it was excessively fruity, with a sharp edge. Fresh, this new mix was a bit like that, but on day 2, it's definitely better. I could probably lower the strawberry profile, and wouldn't mind increasing the cream profile a bit, in the future.

Still not a grand slam, but it's a solid stand-up triple for me :D

Also, I just saw I got quoted in a Bill's Magic Vapor blog entry - I think I'll be a celebrity by extension soon!

Same here.I work in a food manufacturing plant using powdered butter flavoring, and alot of other powdered flavors on a daily basis, and never think twice about it,so the miniscule amounts in my juice doesn't concern me at all.

Can i get your autograph before you get too big to remember all us little people :D

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around for quite some time and have learned a lot from this thread. I would like to add my contribution to this thread with MY take on the infamous Mother's Milk. This is a recipe that I have been working on for a long time and I think I've gotten really close to nailing it. Please share it if you'd like, however, please don't claim it as yours.

FriscoWeather's Moo Juice:

All flavors are TFA with the exception of Cheesecake (LA)

Bavarian Cream 3%
Caramel Candy 1%
Cheesecake New York Style (LA) 6%
Cinnamon Danish 3%
French Vanilla Deluxe 3%
Graham Cracker Clear .5%
Marshmallow .5%
Strawberry (Ripe) 5% (sorry, Bill)
Sweet Cream 3%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 3%
Vanilla Custard 2%

Just shake and vape!

Enjoy :)

Wow Friscoweather, if this is what you post when you're not lurking, please, take as much lurk time as you need!

I made another little batch of the creamy strawberry juice I'd been playing with, and I like the revision a great deal. It was lacking a little creaminess and a bit extreme with strawberry at 12%, so I dropped the strawberry down to 10%, and didn't change anything else. I've been obsessive about replacing any flavor I cut back on with something else, but I'm happy I didn't this time - another small breakthrough, if you will.

Nice job, my friend! I am not opposed the the Ripe, btw, I just use it most often with sweet, as well. I love Moo recipes and this one sounds great! Thank you for sharing! :toast:

Okay, I guess it is finally time for my "Introduction to this thread" post. I've been lurking and sneaking around stealing ideas from you guys and gals for a little while now. I've been vaping for around 5 years, did a bit of DIY back in the day with flavor concentrates and nicotine from Totally Wicked... got tired of crappy juices and started buying off the shelf. Well, now I mostly vape with drippers on mechanical mods with sub-ohm coils and go through quite a bit of juice, and price is becoming an issue. So, I finally took the leap and ordered a whole bunch of stuff from Wizard Labs last week, and everything came in this past Saturday... so, of course, I immediately had to mix somethin' up!

First attempt was a complete disaster, and I'm going to have to re-evaluate my thought processes on my Pun'kin Pie recipe... long story short, too much spice and it all went downhill from there. Dumped it in frustration (only 10ml, so no big loss).

Second attempt blew my mind. It was on par with, or better than, pretty much any juice I've ever purchased! Fairly simple recipe, which I will share below:

Peaches & Cream
Juicy Peach - 10%
Sweet Cream - 8%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 3%
Cotton Candy - 2%

I think I may still do some tweaking to it, but it was very good straight shake-n-vape... even better after steeping overnight (no temp, just left the lid off and stuck it in a drawer overnight).
If any of you who have a much better idea about this stuff than I do have suggestions, I will definitely listen to any advice that you sage mix-masters care to impart!

Sorry for the long post, but thank y'all SOoooooo much for this awesome thread! It gave me the encouragement and guidance to try this again. I was dreading getting back into mixing because of my previous experiences and was never happy with the resultant juices... now, with this first success, I am extremely hopeful and can actually believe that I can do this........ with your help, of course!

Glad to see you made it, Kaz! I too used Totally Wicked (just pre-mixed, never DIY) for quite some time, and if it weren't for this thread, I'd still be plunking down the big bucks every two weeks and hoarding juice like it was a precious commodity! Now it's such a non-issue, we recently gave away about 100ml to some friends leaving the state, and didn't think twice about it.

I'm glad you found something good right away, I'm strongly considering giving that peach mix a try myself, later :)

Ugh, back to grading (did everyone really not learn a single thing!?) - this semester just won't leave me alone! One more day, one more day...

Told ya I'd make my way over here eventually... I read through a lot of the thread (not all of it though), there are some pretty great recipes dispersed through here that I'm gonna have to try! I know that I did some math earlier, and a 30ml bottle is less than $2... Sure beats the $15-$25 a bottle that I've been spending... at 10+ ml a day, that crap was gettin' expensive!

Give the peach a shot... it's a bit sweet, for sure... and right after mixing, I could taste the peach really strong, on the second day, the cream came through a bit more... I was definitely impressed..

Ugh... sorry, bro... I can only imagine how frustrating it is to spend the whole semester teaching something to find out at the end that nothing was retained by the little sponges... I couldn't do it, myself... I think my liver would fail worse than the students... ;)

So I'm putting together another TFA order since I ran out of Strawberry Ripe (finally) and noticed that many flavors are being replaced with DX versions (diketone free).

Anyone come to a general consensus on the tastes of these flavors in comparison to the originals? Curious since my secondaries are mostly vanilla bean ice cream (haven't used the gelato much), Bavarian cream, vanilla swirl, sweet cream, and dulce de leche.

I know everyone else uses a variety of cream flavors as well...

Welcome to the thread! Thank you for the recipe. The missus ADV is a peach cobbler, with peach Danish as a backup, both on my blog, and quite similar to yours. A little brown sugar, graham cracker and cinnamon will make both with your same ingredients, I think. Anyway, just made a quick 100 mls this morning for the missus, so appreciated your sharing your recipe with us. Looks great! :toast:

Thanks, Bill!! It wasn't too fancy, just trying to get something together that I could vape on... I only made a small 10ml batch to see if it was decent... now that it is, I'll make a larger batch when I get home from work this afternoon. I'll have to pick up some brown sugar, graham cracker and cinnamon on my next order!
So you made a batch from my recipe this morning? If you did/do, you'll have to let me know what you think and if it needs a tweak!

I think I'm gonna have to steal your pumpkin pie recipe (I think I saw one in your blog)... mine was abysmal!
This is what I did...
Pun'kin Pie
Pie Crust - 5%
Pumpkin - 8%
Pumpkin Spice - 7%
Toasted Marshmallow - 6%
Bavarian Cream - 5%
Smooth - 2%
Sweetener - 1%

I do NOT recommend that recipe... at all... ever... for anybody... for any reason...
Too much spice for one... the toasted marshmallow added a very nice element to it though, I did quite like that...

*edit*
Now that I look back, I'm not seeing an pumpkin in your pie blog... guess I'm gonna be back to the drawing board :p

No pumpkin....yet. I have all the ingredients, but haven't been inspired thus far. Kinda goes in waves for a time, then other stuff takes priority, then back again, at least for me. I'm in a non-creative vape place at the moment, but that'll change. It happens. Also, allows others to do their thing and helps get everyone involved, so it's a good thing. Thread is better when many people participate. Really hot when Reni was on all the time, I really miss her a lot! Thank you for sharing, and keep posting, we really need it! :toast:

Any time... I promise, I'll share my failures as well as my successes... and I'll throw in whatever I thought about it. This really is a great thread, and is probably the biggest catalyst in me gathering the testicular fortitude to get back in to mixing. Your encouragement is well received, sir... I don't think I saw the posts with Reni, so I'm gonna have to dig further back in the thread. Thread search is your friend, right? ;)

I know what you mean about a non-creative vape place... I'm finally coming out of there, myself. The past year has been hard, as quite a few people know. My wife had cancer, but she just recently got a clean bill of health, so things are looking up. I can focus on the things that I enjoy instead of putting all my focus into helping her battle that demon. But that is life, right? Ups and downs. If you quit fighting, you might as well be dead already.... or something to that effect...
