Whenever I receive a flavor I mix it alone to see what percentage it is good at and to gauge the strength. I tried raspberry at 1-7% and every time I got a straight nail polish remover smell. Since I never got it to work on its own I never bothered to create a recipe with it. Open the flavor bottle and smell it. Does it smell like nail polish remover to you?
LOL....funny!
You misunderstand me. Flavors taste differently as single flavors, and quite possibly, very, very different when in complex mixes. Some of the best flavors I've ever made used Raspberries, not as a standalone flavoring, but with other flavors. It's like chocolate. In real life chocolate is a bitter, bitter taste that cannot be eaten alone. However, add cream, dairy, eggs, butter, sugar, vanilla, etc., and you have one of the best flavorings/recipes on Earth. Like you, I also taste test flavorings alone, but I learned a long time ago, that about 95% of TFA flavorings will not work as single flavorings. They have to be mixed.
If you haven't tried my raspberry Danish, by the way, you haven't lived, as far as I'm concerned.
