Feel free Andria!

Just trying to share what little I have to offer in the way of recipes ;)

Haven't given any thought to blogging any of this stuff yet. I have little to offer that can't be bested by some with far more experience than me.

Well it's the variety that's so great; try one recipe, whether it's great or awful, there are other recipes that can be tried, combined, etc. You really should put them in a blog post so it's easy to find them again; I've seen several of yours that looked perty durn tasty!! I usually look at several different recipes for something, until I can synthesize my own recipe from many different sources -- that's pretty much how I cook, too.

If you think the red velvet is good by itself, get some loranns cream cheese icing to mix with it,talk about something good, that combo is fantastic.

You have my attention. So is that it...Red Velvet and Cream Cheese Icing? What percentages do you recommend? Hey, on a sweeter note...have you tried the new bag-o-donuts by Tastykake....Red Velvet. OMG! It's little wonder I'm two men for the price of one!

If you can measure @1-2% of mix your good. I like CCI @2% but it can start to overwhelm other flavors that high.

Yeah, I can usually do that; in fact I just got 5 more 1ml syringes so I can measure to .xx -- of course SEEING those fine markings is a bit of a challenge but I do the best I can. :D

I mixed up a Basic cheesecake flavor; it's not *bad*, just kinda... blah. I thought the cream cheese icing might be just what it needs to perk it up.

When i posted that,i was thinking it was just those 2,but there is a bit more to it.I think i found this recipe here, but it may have been somewhere else.Like mentioned that cream cheese icing is strong, but it's used at 6% in this recipe and works out really well, obviously it could be dropped some for personal tastes, but i have made it just like this a few times now,and for me i get a nice taste of both the cake and the icing, tastes almost exactly like the little debbie red velvet cupcakes that are out right now for valentines day.

5% red velvet cake tpa
6% cream cheese icing lorans
2% sweetner
3% vanilla swirl
1% vanilla cupcake

Cheesecake is tough using only tfa flavors. It works best if the cheesecake is in the background with more concentration on a different primary flavor. Don't think vanilla cheesecake, think VANILLA cheesecake.

Actually the cheesecake flavor is Capella's NY Cheesecake v2, and I also added TFA Vanilla Swirl,CAP Sweet Cream, and a bit of sweetener. Think I used the cheesecake flavoring at 10%. I let it sit for a few days when I first made it, and the taste is ok, but really light, kinda "generic". I should try it again, see if it developed any deeper flavor. I had planned it to go with some fruit flavors, but wanted to get a sense of the taste just by itself, more or less.

I have GOT to get some of that cream cheese icing -- but I recall that Bill said it was godawful strong; should it be pre-diluted by 50% before trying to use it? Apparently I have to do that with the INW Biscuit, it's so strong.

It is very strong. About 1% for me. You and your sweet tooth, maybe 2%!?

I think I'd probably try it at 1% first. I've tasted a couple flavors that I got too much of something, and the outcome was NOT good. :D (especially true with tobacco flavors, OMG!)

Thanks a bunch. I will gather these essentials pronto...can't wait. I'm also on the hunt for some lemon shortbread cookie too. A couple years ago my wife used to get these cookies from the Dollar Tree...they were fantastic. Lemon was pretty darn loud, but very nice with the buttery shortbread complimenting it. Oh where will it ever stop?

For something a bit different:

Blackberry Brandy

blackberry 6%
brandy 3%
raspberry (sweet) 2%
brown sugar 2%
ethyl maltol 2%

All TFA in 30/70, 2 nic. As with any recipe YMMV so you might be able to bump the blackberry up a touch but it's pretty intense. The brandy gets out of hand pretty quickly so I'd leave that alone. If you prefer cotton candy to EM, go for it. You could add a percent or two of sweet also if you wish. I don't intentionally steep but this sat around at least a week before I tested it so I can't say how a fresh mix will taste. This is the fourth adjustment to the basic idea and I like it a lot - hope somebody else might also.
