Thanks, I like what you have said about them, and love the real fruit flavors, I don't have the super taster tongue that you have, but I am always looking for a more real taste. I never have tried the stevia, I did not know I could get it at GNC. :)

Thanks again

KAS
If you like blueberry theirs is great! I have not tired all of their flavors. Not wild about red raspberry, the lemon is good, coconut and vanilla strong and pineapple is good but I like to mix it with CAP golden Pineapple. Orange is real orange and a bit strong but good.

Yeah I have been vaping a blueberry cupcake, that is a mix of TFA and flavor art bilberry, that I like a lot, but there is always room for improvement. I have another one that is also a favorite of mine that is FW blood orange and FA orange, will look at the site this weekend. :)

I am a strange bird in that I have a strong dose of the "Bitter Gene". Things that taste sour to most people taste bitter to me and some things that do not taste at all to some tast bitter to me. Also I cannot tolerate artificial sweeteners due to a horrible aftertaste. The same applies to many flavorings. Just horrible chemical tastes.
Andria for instance loves Inawera Shisha Strawberry, I got some and it is horrible to me. After a few tokes my lips started tingling, which I learned is a bad sign. When I first started vaping I almost gave up because artificial ingredients in the juices I bought messed my mouth up bad. I very quickly ordered some no artificial ingredients Blueberry, Peach and Watermelon from Flavor Concentrates and started DIY within 2 weeks of starting vaping. They were my single flavor vapes for a while. I did find one el cheap tobacco flavoring I could handle.

I am working thru the various brands and flavorings and so far I have trouble with many of the Inawera and TFA flavors. I wind up just throwing about 30% of the flavors in a box to give to someone else some day. I wish they listed the chemicals in them so I could identify the ones I can't handle and make better choices.
Got a few FA flavors a week or so ago and will try them... Been using Hangsen Desert Ship tobacco. Pretty good for tobacco.
Capella overall has worked the best for me so far. I have only tried 3 FW flavors so far but 2 worked.
for fruit flavors I love Flavor Concentrates brand. No artificial ingredients at all. Their blueberry is great, Watermelon is good. For their strawberry I add just a bit of CAP sweet Strawberry and it is good. Peach is the same I add a bit of Juicy Peach.
It is a journey thru DIY and I am in for the long haul.

I appreciate the reply and interest and wish there were juice testers out there with my taste peculiarities. But I expect that they gave up on vaping after trying it.

Hi Robert! I've been on what feels like a weird flavor journey myself. I've been vaping just over a year. I'm one of the fortuate ones in that I instantly quit a 44+ year PAD smoking habit, (that I dearly loved), literally with my first vape. my first flavors were a local B&M Peppemint Ice, & plain menthol. That's how little I knew. I got a blister pack ego set up on a whim after hearing a couple of family members talk about it. By the end of those two bottles I'd done my research & found out about flavors. First actual flavor was Castle long Reserve which I loved & plowed through quickly. Now, a year later, & 4 taste transitions I'm not crazy about it at the moment. I say at the moment because my taste continues to change. The first 3 times it was just a subtle difference in how my adv's tasted. Slight, but enough that I noticed because it happened very suddenly everytime. One thing I wanted to vape was fruits, but I jsut couldn't find anything I liked. Tobaccos all tasted dirty, &had no appeal to me at all. Then one day one I decided to try a blueberry cream from one of my regular vendors. I've only been able to find maybe 3 juices I could stand to vape & 2 bourbon custards, one kaluha, all barrel aged. I kept ordering one small bottle of something different every month trying to find other things I could use. I had a huge surprise when I tried that blueberry cream the first time, because it tasted great. A bit light on flavor but it was a fruit that I could vape. I was already starting to get equipment & nicotine together for diy so I was happy that I could add some fruits now that I had a direction to go. I so empathize with your issues in finding things to vape, although my problem is nowhere near as intense as yours. I'm really happy for you being able to stick to it & work through the issues you have had. Thank you for sharing that here, it's good info to have. I just stocked up on flavors from the ssales this weekend & am looking forward to getting started with more diy. I have already come up with a close clone of that blueberry cream that is based on Andrea's Strawberry cream & one other that I saw here, tho I forget which one. It may be one Diver shared. I mixed it at 0 nic so I could just enjoy those blueberry's without making myself sick! So here is my first recipe to share here!

Blueberries & Cream

Blueberry Wild 10%
Blueberry Extra 4%
Blueberry Candy 6%
Baavarian Cream 4%
Vanilla Swirl 2%
Sweet Cream 2%
Sweetner 2%

What is this "saline" Just saline solution?
What I use:
In the First Aid section of the pharmacy, pick up some .9% Saline (Wound Wash/Flush).
It's used to clean out open wounds .. safe for a baby.
It's pure sterile water with .09% saline solution, and comes in a spray can.
It comes out of the can in a stream that is easy to direct into a dripper bottle.

I add about 1 drop per 2ml. to my juice.
It brings out the flavor (just like salt does in cooking), ... it smooth's out the harshness (maybe the bitterness you pick up on), .. and blends the flavors together.
It works especially good with fruits and chocolates.
You will not taste any salt, as it's super mild.
It will "brighten" the flavor of the fruit, but I find it doesn't help banana :p

There is also a saline solution you spray/inhale up your nose ..but that's the wrong one.
It has added ingredients.

You want the one without anything in it except the .09 saline and water, that is used to clean wounds.
Have fun experimenting.

Yes ... lemon juice, and vinegar can be used, right out of the kitchen, to change the PH of the juice, which effects the flavor.
I use lemon juice with the fruits, and vinegar with the tobacco's, but ONLY if I think it will help.
Too me, vinegar and vape wizard have the same effect at smoothing and blending out the tobacco, if needed.
I don't add either to recipes or flavorings that don't need it,... they are not "automatic" additives.
Like Bill say's .. to each and their own taste buds :thumb:

I thought I had bought every TFA vanilla but after seeing a recipe I wanted to try, I realized I don't have vanilla custard. I just put in an order this morning for that and a few others.

Anyone have a good cranberry recipe? I tried a vendor cranberry a while back that I really liked so added a small bottle on this order to try.

Sure. Cranberry is another fruit that goes very well with many different base recipes, i.e., cranberry cream, custard, pie, shake, Danish, etc. There are many many fruit recipes on this thread where you can substitute the fruit for the cranberry. Add enough cream, vanilla and sweetener, you can make almost all juices great! Good luck! :toast: :D

The cranberry I tried was a sour/ tart flavor. When I get my order I am going to try some fruits with the custard recipe.
Really? Sour and tart are highly desirable qualities and difficult to find or replicate. A good starting point for any recipe with artificial flavorings to be sure. Good luck! :toast:

Hi folks. I made my first TFA juices a week ago. Before that I was using NN flavors, which is good for a beginner because they come ready to use with no mixing.

I made some Black Honey Tobacco and some Banana Nut bread. They were both pretty good on their own. Today I started vaping my first recipe. Just Banana Nut Bread with some Capella Graham Cracker and Sweet Cream, all pretty low percentages. I don't know if there are TFA flavors that are equivalent to the Graham Cracker and Sweet Cream, but I picked up that recipe from somewhere. Anyway it was the best juice I've tasted so far in a year of vaping, which is kind of encouraging since it's my first ever recipe. I've gone through a lot of this thread cutting and pasting recipes.

I also got some Pineapple, because it's my favorite fruit. I wasn't very happy with that one. Anyone have any suggestions for pineapple recipes. I searched this thread but all I found was people saying they didn't like the pineapple too well.

    cheers

I like pineapple. I did a mix of 15% pineapple, and 4% each of vanilla cupcake, French vanilla, and vanilla bean ice cream. It is pretty good. I used it for a couple months. You have to use a glass tank with the pineapple. I ruined a plastic tank on a kfl+ not knowing.

At first, try adding your new flavorings to creams, vanillas and sweeteners. You can usually make something pretty good with just four ingredients. TFA flavorings are not meant to be complete mixes on their own. Rather, they are are individual flavorings that, when mixed together, can pretty much replicate any juice you would want. There are literally hundreds of ways to take any base flavoring and adjust it to suit your taste preferences as outlined over and over on this thread.

The best way to learn to make great juices is simply to make proven recipes, study what you like, and incorporate it into your own mixes later on. Because there is a learning curve, you can take a very long time to make something really good on your own at first, and this can lead to frustration early on. However, once you've made an ADV or two, that is quickly replaced with this wonderful new hobby. Give it a go, be patient, and you'll be making great complex juices in no time. Good luck! :toast: :D

Thanks to this thread I already knew about pineapple and plastic. Still killed my plastic syringe.

I got several vanillas in my first order so I'll give that a try. Bit surprised by the 15% though. I made my pineapple juice at 3% and it seemed very strong. I read somewhere here that it was a strong flavor. I only made it Friday and stuck it in the UC cleaner for while. Tried it this morning and it seems to have calmed down a bit. Lot to learn I guess.

I didn't think it was too much. Of course I have no patience for steeping so for me it was a shake and vape recipe. If you are happy with a lower percentage then I would do that. You could probably drop the percentage on all of the ingredients and still come out with a good vape. I really wanted a strong pineapple flavor.

Thanks for the encouragement. This sounds like endless fun. The actual mixing is pretty easy to do once you get a system worked out. I made up some spreadsheets for mixing sessions and record keeping. One problem I have is I don't burn through a huge amount of juice. If I make a bunch of 15 ml bottles that will last a long time. I should make smaller batches I guess, but that would mean using drops instead of syringes. And maybe getting a dripper for tasting. Right now I've got a large collection of PT minis and Lemo's, which aren't great for testing. If you put a small amount of juice in a tank to try it out, you waste half of it and it takes quite a bit of time to clean the tank and re-wick it.

Anyone got suggestions for a cheap dripper for tasting?

Check out the Stumpy clone over at fasttech Stumpy.
There are many others that you can pick up for pretty cheap, but I was looking for a small chamber, simple build that is flexible enough to allow for single or dual coil.
You might also check out the Magma or the Derringer. Both are very good flavor attys. If you decide that you really enjoy dripping, I would suggest the Hobo... that thing is the most well rounded RDA that I have, and I just keep coming back to it time after time... I also prefer rayon wicks. If you'd like more info on that then just let me know and I'll get ya pointed in the right direction!

Igo-L. Single coil, extremly tiny airflow hole so I won't use it for anything but tasting & it's good for that. Quick & easy to wick, just cut as many wicks as you'll need for changes, & lay them out. Out with old, in with new, drip & keep going. Around 6.00 almost anywhere now.

Big fan myself. I have a half dozen of them and just wick them all up and try different variants. All things are equal this way and I think I get a true comparison.

I really didn't like the igo L attys. I bought two of them from FT and never really felt like I got good flavor from them. I would try a liquid in one of them and then put it into a clearo or tank and the flavor would be much stronger. Andria turned me onto the Achilles which has killer flavor production.
