We all have different senses of taste, and different taste sensibilities. For me, the Apple Jacks is right on the money, and it is available elsewhere as Jacks or Better, and a favorite of many vapers. If you need to reduce the dulce de leche, then you should. The reason for dulce de leche is to get that bottom of the bowl, sweet milk flavoring. If you think that you're not getting enough apple, well, Apple Jacks does not have a strong apple flavoring. In fact, Apple Jacks does not taste like apple at all, though there is a hint of it, but oh so slight in the cereal. The predominant flavoring of Apple Jacks IS NOT APPLE. That may be what you are experiencing. I had to buy apple jacks cereal and try it several times to get a good copy. The bottom of the bowl flavoring is what I liked best, and that is what I tailored the mix to achieve, and I think it does that really well. What exactly are you thinking when you say that dulce takes over the mix? Are you expecting more apple, for example? Let me know. This is a very popular flavoring by the way. Ciao!I'm having a problem with one flavor taking over the whole recipe in another one Bill. I tried a 10ml batch of Apple Jacks last night and the dulce de leche dominated the whole mix @ 1%
your recipe...
7% Apple
7% Cinnamon Sugar Cookie
3% Cotton Candy
2% Belgium Waffle
1% Dulce De Leche
I'm at 13% Apple and Cinnamon Sugar to 11% and it's starting to come through better. I should have made another batch without the Dulce since that's my problem but running low on VG. My gallons were supposed to be here already!!
Anyone else try the Apple Jacks recipe? Curious to what others experienced.

Hey Nate!new flavors that came in today. looking forward to playing with them
my quest for a good danish hasnt made great proggress. i will share my recipes now. maybe someone can see what is wrong. i was taking a different approach but fell short.
raspberry danish 1
raspberry sweet 12%
cheesecake 4%
bavarian cream 1.5%
vanilla cupcake 1.5%
horchata smooth 1%
cream cheese icing 1%
lemon 0.5%
raspberry danish 2
raspberry sweet 12%
bavarian cream 1.5%
vanilla cupcake 1.5%
horchata smooth 1%
cream cheese icing 1%
lemon 0.5%
i then was thinking the raspberry wasnt enough so i went with a different filling flavor
strawberry danish
strawberry 10%
cheesecake 4%
bavarian cream 1.5%
vanilla cupcake 1.5%
horchata smooth 1%
cream cheese icing 1%
lemon 0.5%
blueberry danish
blueberry wild 15%
cheesecake 4%
bavarian cream 1.5%
vanilla cupcake 1.5%
horchata smooth 1%
cream cheese icing 1%
lemon 0.5%
all of these tasted decent when made. i think the issue may be not enough flavorings. my percentages are to low and if brought up could maybe bring them were i need them. im kinda stumped. i dont have the cinnamon danish flavoring. i wanted to go about it a different way. i will try again after some more thinking and planning were i wanna go with it
Update on Pecan Danish.....
A day later and just vaped the original recipe with the Pecan at 5%. Better....smoother...the cream cheese has settled down into more an undertone. It's very close. It needs vanilla. I'm adjusting recipe to:
Pecan Danish
Cinnamon Danish - 10%
Cotton Candy - 8%
Pecan - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Vanilla Swirl - 2%
Cream Cheese Icing - 1%
I can think of many good variations to this Danish recipe, but this one is quite a nice Danish vape. I am happy with this contribution to the Danish quest, and pleasantly surprised. I don't think that the cream cheese icing needs to be over the 1%, it's just that dominant, but I think that less than 1%, we might lose it altogether. This is not the gooey, sticky pecan Danish I was hoping for.....more a cinnamon Danish with pecans on top of a frosted icing. I do get some separation too, which is nice, and hard to achieve sometimes. I can't say that danishes, in general, need the cream cheese icing, either. It's a type of Danish, but not the gooey, sticky type For that, I would leave it out. So, it has it's place, but don't see it as a universal addition to a "Danish." The cinnamon is subtle, the pecan, not overwhelming, but there, the icing, separate and there. This is a Danish, for sure, imho.![]()

Who knows Reni!Bill... that sounds SOOOOO tasty! Thank you for sharingI'm so excited about this quest. I just got my email saying "shipped", so I should see it by Saturday I think (hope!!!)
Is the gooey you're looking for the result of Brown Sugar doing its thing in the ingredients? Not when it turns into caramel... just its slight molasses sugary flavor in and of itself. Could that be what you think you don't taste? I've barely used my Brown Sugar Extra, so I'm not sure if it would even help-but from the food aspect of it all, that's what it sounds like you're yearning for. Perhaps you need to go pick up another Pecan Danish and umm... do more research!![]()

Hey Nate!
Can't say anything to help in your quest as I don't have some of your flavorings, like Horchata? Don't know what that tastes like. I don't use Cheesecake in anything, though I've tried to use it for a couple of years. If you want to bring out your primary flavorings you need to do more like 6% cream AND 6% vanilla. that may help. Just some thoughts. Good luck!
i have been reading this thread slowly but surely.... my question is, if i drip at say .5ohms its ok to bump the flavor content up? as opposed to an EGO and clearo? i have been DIY'ing for about 6 months and have been finding it hard to make a balance for friends as opposed to what i like.... i have been backing off on flavor concentrations on my bakery types and they are getting better IMO. roughly 10-15 %, but others say they are too strong or not strong enough....i'm confused here but would like any response from someone who uses rda's....here's a sample recipe..... Caramel Cheesecake @23% flavor. thought about making it in lower concentrations.
for a 30 ML batch...
Bavarian Cream (TPA) 3 ML
Caramel (Original) (TPA) 1 ML
Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TPA) 1.8 ML
Graham Cracker Clear (TPA) .3 ML
Marshmallow (TPA) 1 ML
i like it but i have read you should keep you flavor concentrations lower. forgive me i am cornfused at the moment. i would love to make this for friends and improve my own experience..... so a general guidline would be helpful?
I know what Horchata is, but I've not vaped it, and don't see that going on my vape list any time soon. Even if it is great, I've never heard of a horchata Danish, at least in the U.S., so I don't see it as a valuable Danish flavoring. That's my take on it, and I'm sure that can be proven wrong by someone's sense of taste (subjective, etc.). Remember the OP was saying that he had failed and gave four different Danish recipes, and, maybe, just maybe, the horchata is contributing to that? I don't know, again never vaped it, but it's not without reason in this situation.Bill,
Horchata is a sweet/rice milk/cinnamon drink from Mexico. If you have such a cheap "roach coach" or drive through by you, by all means, I suggest you go get some. It'll make you want to order the flavor, I PROMISE!!! LOL There is a friend around here who's hubby doesn't like much other than vaping Horchata lol If done properly, its SOOOO yummy!
I make a lot of juice for a lot of folks, and most of them are drippers, and I can tell you what dozens of them think. Dripping is about less NICOTINE, not lower flavoring. If anything, the higher heat of most drippers requires MORE flavoring. I am frequently asked to increase flavoring for drippers, as 20% mixes often seem a little "thin," their words, not mine. In fact, I just updated my 21% Peach Cobbler to a 30% Peach Cobbler for my dripper friends just today. Hope this helps.i have been reading this thread slowly but surely.... my question is, if i drip at say .5ohms its ok to bump the flavor content up? as opposed to an EGO and clearo? i have been DIY'ing for about 6 months and have been finding it hard to make a balance for friends as opposed to what i like.... i have been backing off on flavor concentrations on my bakery types and they are getting better IMO. roughly 10-15 %, but others say they are too strong or not strong enough....i'm confused here but would like any response from someone who uses rda's....here's a sample recipe..... I use RDA's(my go to is my immortalizer for flavor)and you have to remember flavor and taste is 100% subjective. What you like someone else is not going to like it.the same goes with the flavor concentration/percentage.If you go down on the % and like it,others still will not like it.
