Thanks mom for your acknowledgement of my post. I know my questions were a little off topic. It seemed others were preoccupied a bit. That recipe definitely did help me out quite a bit!

I spent a bit of time in the FW thread and let me just say it's nothing like this one. It seems mostly their flavors are a one flavor mix type of deal or so it seems and the only info you get is 15% over and over lol....
I have a couple recipes in front of me and am about to whip up 3 new juices - wish me luck!

I've noticed that same thing haha.I agree definitely nothing like this thread either, which is weird because those flavors definitely can be used in recipes, but nobody on that one ever posts any haha.Let us know what you think on that yellow cake after making a recipe with it.I've been thinking of getting it because of Bill's recipe that was posted, but it's always nice to hear multiple thoughts before buying a new one.

Please realize that once you can make great juice with complex recipes, many people start to sell them commercially, and now then they become "trade secrets," whether they are any good or not. I've been known to sell a juice or two along the way, but I gave that up, as I just don't have time to do it, and because pricing is going down, and it's no longer worth it to me. Even so, though, I've always shared my recipes, but most juice makers DON'T SHARE THEIR JUICES! Makes perfect sense, and that's why there are no other threads like this one on the internet. All of us willing to share is what makes this thread work, and I assure you, there are commercial juice makers that are making and selling these recipes right now. Givers and Takers.....Ciao! :toast:

And then there is the point that many commercially made juices have to appeal to many...

I have spent way too much on juices that were supposed to be the bomb, and were indeed literally a bomb...IMHO...

I am grateful for all here willing to share their recipes, as this thread has made my vaping so much more enjoyable!

Thanks to all in this thread!

"Are you kidding me, that tastes good to you?"

This is why I got into DIY. Nothing tasted good to me. Sure, part of it was me, and vapor tongue, but my taste preferences don't seem to match "others" taste preferences. A lot of juice makers don't even vape. I used to make juice for a guy that sold juice, vaped 0 nic, just so he could try them, and then bought or passed based on his tastes, which were non-existent. Thank Goodness he had a vaping partner, but that's my point, and yours as well, we have to mix for our own preferences and taste sensibilities. I'm happy that others seem to like my juice, but the important thing is that I LIKE IT! I'm the customer in my Vape Lab!

I, too, thank each and every one of you who share your experiences and juices with us, and don't just lurk and cop these juices as "yours." We can all help each other, and we should! Not a day goes by that I'm not grateful that I no longer smoke. Only thing that ever worked for me! God Bless!!! :toast:

Pralines and Cream has long been one of my favorites, and I've posted it here before somewhere. Here it is again:

Pralines and Cream

Hazelnut Praline - 6%
Vanilla Custard - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 4%

Sweeten and adjust to taste. Don't think it needs cinnamon Danish, imho....:toast:

Oh you're right -- Nooooo Cinnamon Danish! My recipe is yuck yuck yuck. I based it off of one of yours though - Oh! I think the Pecan one? I figured hey Pecan? Pralines and Cream? Whats the difference? HA!

I don't know if I should try to salvage my recipe or just scrap it. Its so dry I feel like I'm vaping cardboardish cinnamon...I know EM or Marshmallow could help that but I don't think it's worth wasting the extra flavorings honestly! As soon as I'm out of work I'm going to dump it right out and make your recipe above. Only question -- you put:

Hazelnut Praline 6% -- do you mean you can use EITHER Hazelnut OR the Pralines and Cream? I have both -- you know what I would really like? Pistachio. Mmmmmm...anyway lol.

One more question. I don't know if I've asked but I recently got in the flavor Dairy - I'm wondering where to use it? I really want to make a Blueberry Cream. Whenever I want a fruit and cream I really mean a cream and a tad bit of fruit (if you know what I mean!)

Also (ha I'm a pain) does anyone have a recipe (or just a starting point) for just a nice creamy vanilla? I could really go for just a cream vape.

That's funny right there, and sounds very similar to the 1 and only vape shop i've been to.I don't know if the owner vapes or not,but the 3 employees that were working the first time i went clearly did not,as they could not answer 1 question about anything i asked pertaining to the juice they sold, yet these were the guys that were mixing it up when you told them what you wanted.I didnt think much of it then,as this was the first day i started vaping,i was getting my very first juice there and had alot of questions that i walked away with no answers to haha. The 2nd and last time i went in,the people working that day definitely vaped, the vapor was so thick and heavy that day that you couldn't see the items in the display cases, but they still had no clue as to answers to my questions. That was the day i realized i had to try diy, because A)this way,i knew how my juice was being made, and B)they were charging $19 for a 30ml bottle, and after buying 4 different flavors and really not liking any of them,i knew i would not be successful in staying away from the cigarettes if i continued to dump $19 at a time down the drain haha.

I've still NEVER been to a vape shop! I actually really want to go but for some reason have just never been. I know I have way more of a selection online and I know the prices are better. I've been vaping for some time now too. It's funny I can't remember exactly how long --- at least a year and a half? I used to know because of the join date here on the ECF but at one time they made me re-register or something so it screwed me all up lol.. I'd have to go back to V2.com and see when i ordered from them lol.

I tried some juice from one of the ladies at the bus stop and she got it at the shop we have downtown. It was Swedish Fish and it was actually really really good. I was suprised. Whenever she said "they can mix up whatever you want for you right there" a light bulb lit up in my head that said OOOHH NOOOO...lol!! I've heard talk about this shop on FB though and I guess it's not that bad. Idk. For some reason I feel really awkward with the thought of going to a vape shop. I guess I'm weird.

I got my Zamplebox on Saturday - the same day I got about 20 new flavors in. 6 bottles of store bought juice and I don't think I've tried them all yet but I know I've tried like 4 -- Um ya I'm not into ANY of them! I'm reaching for my own mixes instead. I think it's about time to cancel that thing. I mean seriously 2 Melon juices (I hate melon) 2 banana juices 1 Sour Lime and then 1 Tropical Fruit that tastes like YUCK. I'm SO disapointed. Do you know what I could've done with $30?? I've kept it these last few months cuz I haven't trusted my DIY skills but I'm feeling more and more confident....I think I'm just about ready.

Also (ha I'm a pain) does anyone have a recipe (or just a starting point) for just a nice creamy vanilla? I could really go for just a cream vape.

Hazelnut Praline is a TFA flavor, and it's super yummy when we apply the "Treament." The Treatment is vanilla, cream and sweetener (for me). I haven't tried Pralines and Cream the other way, but this one is good (and is a commercial flavoring as well). I prefer the vanilla custard over the marshmallow in this mix. Bavarian Cream tastes great in EVERYTHING, imho. Then sweetener, or Cotton Candy. I often use them interchangeably.

Regarding blueberries and cream. Have you looked at my Cream Fantastico (Both a juice flavor and a milkstone)?

Cream Fantastico

Blueberry Extra - 8%
Strawberries & Cream - 7%
Vanilla Swirl - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Cotton Candy - 4%
Sweetener - 2%

This has a wonderful flavoring with two fruits that you wouldn't normally think about mixing them together, but they do work wonderfully. The juice is better than the recipe (usually the other way around, right?). Add the Cream Fantastico to some Red Vines......Nirvana Central!!! :D

I'm going to share one of my thought processes that I haven't mentioned before. If I want a sweet vanilla cream, like the inside of a twinkie, for example, I think about using Sweet Cream, Vanilla Swirl and Sweetener. This is a kind of pure sweet vanilla cream filling. Another variation that I like is sweet cream, Bavarian cream and sweetener. NOW THAT'S SOME GREAT FILLING. Add vanilla cupcake to it and you will get a Twinkie!

When I think about something a little more exotic, more European, for example, I think about Bavarian Cream, Cotton Candy and French Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, or Vanilla Custard. Yes, I know they are all different, but they all have their place, and they are NOT interchangeable to me. I need them all, and use them all. I make a pure vanilla juice as follows:

Just Vanilla

Speaking of Vanilla, ya'll, try this mix:

Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Vanilla Bourbon - 2%
French Vanilla - 4%
Bavarian Cream - 3% OR
French Vanilla Cream - 3% OR Both!!
Vanillin - 3%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweetener - 2%

That's 20% - 30% Vanilla! You can add dulce de leche at 2% and Vanilla Bean at 4% to give it that thick vanilla milkshake flavor. Adjust and sweeten to taste. Yes, Ren, we need our vanillas!

Here's the original Pralines and Cream recipe that I posted:

Pralines and Cream has long been one of my favorites, and I've posted it here before somewhere. Here it is again:

Pralines and Cream

Hazelnut Praline - 6%
Vanilla Custard - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 5%

So made it through week 1, and Im about outta my new juices so its time for round 2.. The first batch I made the following with these percentages:
Green Apple 5%
Boysenberry 5%
Blue Raspberry 10%
Watermelon 10%

These were all 50/50 at 12mg/ml nic..
The flavor was ALMOST there but I need to bump it up just a bit I think. The Green Apple just needs a little more, and the Boysenberry Im still not so sure about. I have probably a tank full left so I need to try it again with a fresh wick..

Now today I broke open the batch of Grape Juice I made the same day as that bad Blueberry I threw out.. Its at 10% but the nic is down to 10mg/ml now.. The flavor is actually coming through a little better, Im assuming due to the lower nic, but Im still getting a good throat hit thanks to the VT 'throat hit' nic..

Now Im just wondering what you guys think.. Should I try the same percentages again, but this time do a whole round of 10mg?? Or should I stick with the originals and bump up the percentages a bit?? And on that note, to avoid going overboard and having to dump anything, whats a good recommendation to step up? Should I do a whole 5%? 10%? 2%? I havent hit anything that was overflavored and nasty yet so I wanna take it slow hehe.. Im wondering if I should just bump up the flavor AND drop the nic too, but well see how this tank of 10mg goes as far as me chain vaping to get what I need out of it hahaha..

Im starting to see what everyone means by adding a touch of sweetener to make flavors 'pop'.. My grape juice, blue ras, and watermelon were all awesome, but they definitely lean towards the raw fruit taste, where stuff in my Killer Juice pile I can vape and tell 'oh yeah sweetness!!'.. Probably gonna order another bunch of flavors on tuesday so maybe Ill pick up some cotton candy with it..

Are you making single flavor mixes? If so, probably 90 - 95% of them are not going to be great. Recipes is where the good juice lives. However, single flavors allow us to determine the best percentage of the predominant flavorings. Go back and read this thread over the last few months (coiuple of hours), and you'll see what I mean. Good luck!

On another note this recipe came out awesome (forgive the non-tfa flavors!)

Blackberry - 5%
Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Sweet Cream - 4%
Yellow Cake - 2% (ooops)
Sweetener - 1%
Butter Cream - 1% (ooops)

It tastes great right now but I know in a day or 2 it'll be awesome!

OMG!!! I actually have all these flavors - well, not blackberry but lots of other fruits to try. Thanks Monica!

Ha. The best way to commit to learning DIY is to stop ordering juice from vendors.

I kept putting it off because I always knew k was gonna be ok with my supply. When I decided to DIY, I went cold turkey on buying juice.

When my stash started to run out, I got more and more serious (mixed with panic) and now all I ever vape are my diy juice.

AH.... The power of fear. HEHEHEH.

Burping out loud using Tapatalk

I bought a ton of flavors a couple months ago that have never been removed from the box. My ADV is Jameson's Amelia (strawberry). I had a huge stash of Amelia from a B&M that was discontinuing. Now that I am on my very last bottle of Amelia, I have become motivated!

I have both TFA Strawberry Ripe and Flavourart Red Touch Strawberry. I mixed each one separately today at 5% to start tasting. Right now they both smell and taste exactly the same.

Rad I just realized that WIzard Labs actually messed up my order hah.. Found my order slip, the Blueberry Candy I ordered was the PG version, they sent me the one with Triacetin in it instead.. I thought I was safe cause the one I ordered was ok, but just checked the Triacetin versions description and yep, its not safe on plastics.. Problem solved there..

And the Blueberry Candy debacle continues!!! I figured I would get your guys opinion before I did something possibly stupid here hahaha..

So doing my reading yesterday at the actual TPA website.. I noticed some of the triacetin flavorings mentioned that they DO in fact get cloudy..
I still have the 10ml I made (I just couldnt bear to dump it yet haha), and when I picked it up to look at it this morning, its now completely crystal clear like all my other juices.. Not a trace of any of the cloudiness it had even yesterday morning.. So is it possible its safe to vape?? I would think if it did in fact melt plastic from the syringe it would still be there or there would be some sort of residue but the juice looks a-ok to me.. Tons of lovely little bubbles when I shake it, smells pretty good (a bit sweet but hey its candy!), what do you guys think?? They said it doesnt harm the LDPE bottles they ship the flavors in, but I couldnt find any info on what kinda plastic my syringes are but maybe its the same stuff..

Vape at your own risk. Certainly most of us smoked at our own risk, so we have a wide range of tolerances here. I can't say I "know" exactly what's going on here for you, but I have had this problem before, and I know for a fact that in my case, it was the plastic from the syringe that clouded up my juice. Accordingly, I poured it out. Burning, melting plastics are highly dangerous, by the way, when inhaled. Here's a blurb:

"Open burning of plastic waste is simply dangerous to your health and the health of the environment. Plastic such as PVC (polyvinylchloride) is common in such things as bottles and jugs, plastic packaging and blister packs, etc. When these are burnt in the house, carbon monoxide, dioxins and furans are released into your air. Whilst carbon monoxide is a pretty well known poison, dioxins and furans are not. Studies have linked dioxins and furans to cancer and respiratory disease.

Dioxin is a toxic organic chemical that contains chlorine and is produced when chlorine and hydrocarbons are heated at high temperatures. To inhale dioxin or to be exposed to its fumes can cause many deadly results. Toxic components inhaled through smoke from burning plastic materials may cause hormonal imbalance and sex behavioural orientation of your newborn baby. As a result, the child could begin exhibiting behaviour, in total contrast to his or her sex - changes from male to female sexual characters or vice versa. Researchers have established that inhaling burnt plastic materials have altered sexual characters of birds (from male to female). They have discovered the same defects can easily occur in human beings. Plastic should never be burned in the open air. There are recycling options available for many of these products. :?:

Toxic gases emitted by burning plastic materials - dioxins and furans - can also cause cancer, impotence, asthma and a myriad other allergies to human beings. Young Danes have reported exceptionally low sperm counts compared to the previous generations, testicular cancer has increased by 55 per cent between 1979 and 1991 in England and Wales. Fewer boys are being born in Seveso, Italy, where toxic dioxin was released. Some girls are achieving puberty earlier than others."

Now maybe some, or all, of this information does not apply to us with the melting of plastics via chemical reaction, but given the severity of the potential medical risks, why would anyone even consider vaping this stuff? I know common sense is not common any longer, but Mom always said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This one is a no-brainer......TO ME, anyway. Needless risk to save 10 mils of juice, imho. Vape this at your own risk. I do not recommend this. :2c:

I THINK it may actually be safe, if what Im reading in the tank cracker thread is true..
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/219179-lets-make-list-juices-flavors-crack-tanks-ce2s-clearos-40.html

According to my4jewels, polypropylene should be safe, which I found out is what my syringes are made of as well.. Of course my tank is polycarbonate so its still off limits, but it should be ok.. Apparently my4jewels makes tanks out of PP and theyre fine so far. I think Ill do a little 'test' since two of my 1ml syringes already have the 1ml marking wiped off just from a couple uses (I didnt put packing tape on them until after I made my first batches like an idiot).. I can suck some up and let it sit and see if theres a reaction or not..

Either way, now that I have a second KFL+ on the way (in black this time yes!!), I think Im gonna drop $20 and pick up a couple of the quartz kits from 101Vape.. Theyre only $10 a piece, and Id rather have 101's customer support in case they show up broken for an extra $5 than risk the $4 one from Fasttech haha.. I dont mind the stainless steel but I also like visually knowing how full my tank is hehe.. I hate it when it gets to the bottom and theres that nice big dry hit telling you its refill time.. :)

I'm ordering DIY stuff and I'm thinking about glass syringes. I already have some plastic ones, and some 3mL pipettes--which seem to be what most people use for transferring flavorings?--but it seems to me glass would be more economical and easier to clean thoroughly.
Anybody have thoughts on glass vs. plastic? What do you guys use?

Also, I wasn't able to find any 1mL syringes when I made my last order...I'm wondering if they are really needed? I do plan on using recipes that call for as low as .25% or less on some flavorings. Should I make the effort to find the 1ml syringes?
