And the Blueberry Candy debacle continues!!! I figured I would get your guys opinion before I did something possibly stupid here hahaha..
So doing my reading yesterday at the actual TPA website.. I noticed some of the triacetin flavorings mentioned that they DO in fact get cloudy..
I still have the 10ml I made (I just couldnt bear to dump it yet haha), and when I picked it up to look at it this morning, its now completely crystal clear like all my other juices.. Not a trace of any of the cloudiness it had even yesterday morning.. So is it possible its safe to vape?? I would think if it did in fact melt plastic from the syringe it would still be there or there would be some sort of residue but the juice looks a-ok to me.. Tons of lovely little bubbles when I shake it, smells pretty good (a bit sweet but hey its candy!), what do you guys think?? They said it doesnt harm the LDPE bottles they ship the flavors in, but I couldnt find any info on what kinda plastic my syringes are but maybe its the same stuff..
Vape at your own risk. Certainly most of us smoked at our own risk, so we have a wide range of tolerances here. I can't say I "know" exactly what's going on here for you, but I have had this problem before, and I know for a fact that in my case, it was the plastic from the syringe that clouded up my juice. Accordingly, I poured it out. Burning, melting plastics are highly dangerous, by the way, when inhaled. Here's a blurb:
"Open burning of plastic waste is simply dangerous to your health and the health of the environment. Plastic such as PVC (polyvinylchloride) is common in such things as bottles and jugs, plastic packaging and blister packs, etc. When these are burnt in the house, carbon monoxide, dioxins and furans are released into your air. Whilst carbon monoxide is a pretty well known poison, dioxins and furans are not. Studies have linked dioxins and furans to cancer and respiratory disease.
Dioxin is a toxic organic chemical that contains chlorine and is produced when chlorine and hydrocarbons are heated at high temperatures. To inhale dioxin or to be exposed to its fumes can cause many deadly results. Toxic components inhaled through smoke from burning plastic materials may cause hormonal imbalance and sex behavioural orientation of your newborn baby. As a result, the child could begin exhibiting behaviour, in total contrast to his or her sex - changes from male to female sexual characters or vice versa. Researchers have established that inhaling burnt plastic materials have altered sexual characters of birds (from male to female). They have discovered the same defects can easily occur in human beings. Plastic should never be burned in the open air. There are recycling options available for many of these products.
Toxic gases emitted by burning plastic materials - dioxins and furans - can also cause cancer, impotence, asthma and a myriad other allergies to human beings. Young Danes have reported exceptionally low sperm counts compared to the previous generations, testicular cancer has increased by 55 per cent between 1979 and 1991 in England and Wales. Fewer boys are being born in Seveso, Italy, where toxic dioxin was released. Some girls are achieving puberty earlier than others."
Now maybe some, or all, of this information does not apply to us with the melting of plastics via chemical reaction, but given the severity of the potential medical risks, why would anyone even consider vaping this stuff? I know common sense is not common any longer, but Mom always said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This one is a no-brainer......TO ME, anyway. Needless risk to save 10 mils of juice, imho. Vape this at your own risk. I do not recommend this.
