That's actually my recipe I've been trying to perfect. It's great but not perfect. I've already got brown sugar on the way for it now. Thanks for the tip Bill. It's already super sweet at that mix, do you think it still needs sweetener? I ordered some just in case and to make some of your Dutch apple pie.

Now after reading more I need to try your cinnamon danish. You really opened my eyes when it comes to mixing.

We all experience the sweeteners and cotton candies a little differently. All I can be certain of is that the percentages that I use in my recipes don't taste too sweet to me....but that's just me. We have to mix and flavor to our own tastes. Whether you use sweetener in one particular recipe or not, is subject to your own preferences. Certainly there will be recipes with fruit, for example, where you will need to add sweetener to bring out the true flavoring of many flavors and mixes. The beauty of the 100DT mixing methodology is that we can quickly and easily prepare a series of formulations that allow us to determine each of the variables and differences in percentages for ourselves.

Thank you for the tip of the hat! I appreciate it! Good luck! :toast: :D

Yes, the Dutch Apple Pie is my signature juice. You will likely enjoy that one! :D

One thing to keep in mind as well is the pg/vg mix, along with power levels, and the topper/build used will affect flavor and sweetness.

All of my mixes are done at 65%vg, even without flavor added there is plenty of sweetness to the vg (for me anyways.)
I've yet to add any actual sweetener to my mixes and have found every one to be better than store bought liquids, IMO.

If I need the sweetness to pop a bit more then I will add a little of something like dragonfruit, or any other already sweet flavoring that plays well with the particular mix at hand.

Of course taste is always subjective.

morning......almost all flavors have arrived.....have 2 shipments....lol
did a 100DT last night on some caramel, butterscotch, bav. cream and cottoncandy.......not bad, but too much caramel, not enough BS, will try again tonight......this is fun.

Anyone have a recipe close to juicy fruit gum ?

Doesn't TFA have a juice fruit gum flavoring? Haven't used it, but if they do, a little sweetener and whatever may be missing can be added. Should be fairly straight forward. :toast:

Someone may come along with a recipe. We'll see. :pop:

Sweetener doesn't add just sweetness to the mix, and, at low levels, maybe not much sweetness at all. Ask Andria! :D

However, Sweetener does cause the fruits to really come alive as well, in a different manner than other flavorings. If you haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, because the juice may be already sweet enough, you should just give it a try in a couple of tests. Ask Mom! She had a paradigm shift recently on this exact subject, and she never added sweetener at all before. She experienced the POP that accompanies this flavoring with fruit. You can read her posts about it over the last couple of weeks. Food for thought! We're all good here. Good luck! :toast: :D

It really is absolute gospel truth that everyone tastes "sweet" differently; granted I've never tried *that* much VG, even 33% VG nearly deprived me of the ability to breathe, but VG doesn't seem all that sweet to me, it just totally lacks anything approaching throat hit, and most stuff that other people say is "really sweet", to me, needs a buttload more sweetener. :D I put sugar on frosted mini-wheats! And I really don't eat strawberries at all unless they've spent the night in the fridge, coated in sugar, to make syrup.

There are 2 diff "blueberry muffin" ejuices that I've bought, and both are very good -- but I didn't really know HOW good they were, until I added sweetener to them. But once it goes over a certain level of sweetness, I can't stand it, or I can stand only a little of it -- the only way I can eat fudge is in "crumbs" of it. I think this aspect may be why I don't really care for caramel -- a tiny bit, ok, but any more of it is just too much sugar. I like coffee sweetened, but not much -- 1 rounded tsp of sugar in a 6 or 8 oz mug -- same for tea; down here in the south, you can get "sweet tea" at any restaurant, but mostly it's "tea syrup", and I can't abide it.

Also, even though I really like sweet, it's nice to have another vape handy that isn't quite so sweet; sometimes "enough" becomes "too much" and I need another taste in my mouth.

I did the same, that flavor is dead on with the gum. That was one of the very first flavors i bought when i started diy.I can't remember what % i used it at,i think it was right around the same as you,10%-15% somewhere in there haha.

Is it a general consensus to leave diy liquids for an amount of time before using them a minimum time ?

Mine have been good straight away- Im somewhat easily pleased the DIY aspect may make me a tad bias but perhaps some flavours I've used not apparent in the liquid at first use after i make them.

Taste is subjective, so a lot depends just on what you like. The fun of DIY is learning to adjust flavorings to suit your preferences. That said, most of the HFM I make are pretty good ATM, but all benefit from a few hours of blending, some benefit from 24 - 48 of steeping. Some could use adjustment to suit your preferences. :toast: :D

Draft 3 of this recipe, and I am very happy with the end result, so long as the flavors don't change too much over time. I know the Sweet Cream will probably weaken a little bit, but that won't hurt it any.

Blue Watermelon
10% Watermelon
5% Blueberry(Extra)
2% Strawberry
2% Sweet Cream
2% Ethyl Maltol

So long as there is a dramatic change in flavor, I will be doing a 30ml bottle of this up tomorrow night :)

It's simple I'm sure..way to many flavors for what I tasted...but I'm sure its a good vape...try this and tell me what u think...smells exact when done mixing..after steeps it pretty well dead on...I'm only trying to decide to use vape wizard or sweetener...small changes like that...side by side test...I got two 120ml of mothers milk in last week...I cant tell any difference now..lol figures...but I will continue as u have to add and change etc...

Thanks for the tip of the hat, my friend. Appreciate it!

Blueberry or blueberry mint is really not a flavoring I've worked specifically on before. I do use blueberry in mixes and have had good luck with mixing wild and extra together. You do need to add sweetener to the mix, or you won't get near the blueberry you may have in mind. Creams and vanilla creams (6% or less each) combined with sweetener (2-4%)will make the juice pop. Low amounts of raspberry and strawberry will kill the chemical/floral notes if present (2% or less).

Blueberry candy also sounds like a winner. You need to do 100DT's with this. Start by trying each of wild blueberry and blueberry extra. What is missing? What is too much? Isolate those tastes in your thinking. What does it need to taste better? Sweetener? Add and try. Cream or vanilla cream? Add and try. Combinations of blueberry types? Add and try. The 100DT method is a process to take you from a starting point toward a finished flavoring by taking steps toward a flavoring.

You'll know that flavoring when you taste it, right? Well, start really anywhere and test. What is missing, too little, too much? Adjust and try again. In most cases I can get from terrible to delicious in eight steps or less. Takes some practice, but this is the only way I know how to do it. What is the most important part? Patience.....

Good luck! You'll get there....just start....take baby steps....adjust.....taste test....adjust and repeat until the mix is to your liking. Only way I can do it myself. Best!:toast:
One note about the blueberry candy.. Im still just doing single flavors, and the bb candy needs to sit for at least a week before it loses its "milkiness" and turns clear again.. Its gonna look funky when you mix it up, but its pretty good once it clears up. I've only tried it at 10% with nothing else so far, YMMV... Sadly I don't have funnels yet and slipped and dumped about 15mls on the floor yesterday pouring it into a bottle..

Tomorrows payday so time to get some 4oz bottles from TFA and some sweetener finally! Guess I'll hit Nude for the citric acid as well since I need a few more 50ml conical vials anyways.. The TFA blue raspberry has been very hit or miss with a NASTY chemical perfume taste if overdone just 1%, maybe I can reign it in with some helpers..

Now I just gotta go dig through here to find the bubblegum/starburst recipe haha. Take a few days off and man this thread is active! :)

No disrespect intended with this, but this is supposed to be a TFA thread. Yes, we sometimes use other flavors when TFA has nothing like what we are after.

If I am out of line with this I sincerely apologize. Again, no disrespect intended.

I think you're right... but that recipe would be great in the "All manufacturers" thread -- I often post my own recipes there because they're such a mixed bag of manufacturers, they really don't fit anywhere else.
