Yeah, none of my recipes use PG... I use VG and flavorings, and my nic is VG base. What can I say... I'm a dripper freak. So, with 30% flavor, my mixes end up at 70/30 vg/pg. I use quart sized mason jars (the new color ones that they're calling "vintage") and I keep them in one of my old liquor cabinets. That's why I was considering mixing the flavors and vg, then just add sweetener and nic later... a quart of juice lasts me about a month to a month and a half... then I mix a new batch.

Glad your open to trying something new in your DIYing.
It sure wasn't my idea, .. I stole it from the pro's
I would only try it with a proven, enjoyed, recipe.
You don't need to mix more than a few mil of the flavorings, for making a small test recipe with, down the line.
Also, I do not add the sweetener when mixing the flavors.
Sweeteners are not flavorings.
If EM is your choice, it has a tendency to mute any flavor over time, especially when used in higher amounts.
So if I use any, I add it at the time of making the juice ... the "flavoring" is just that .. the flavor only.
Hope it saves you time and work with some of your ADV's

When I saw the post I thought it would be a great idea. Seems it would really help speed up the process.

Blending any liquids together of a dissimilar composition does create change.

Steep, blend, meld whatever you'd like to refer to it as, there is a process that occurs when you mix liquids that does affect the overall taste profile. Most of that process seems to take place in the first 48 to 72 hours in my observation using the high flavor mix recipes that I have stolen/borrowed/developed here.

Just my opinion...as always, yours may vary

I notice major flavor changing considerably past that point as well , it's amazing how much a recipe can change and improve from when you first mix it. I got some that taste incredible after a month but were mediocre at best right after mixing.

You don't notice a major difference a month after you mix it ?
None of my mixes last that long so I can't comment!

They may well change but in my experience where none of my juices last more than 2 weeks on average, the biggest changes take place in the first two to three days.

I tried the eclipse clone a little more last night and came to the conclusion that I must have added too much Cavendish. The tobacco flavor is pretty overwhelming. It reminded me a lot of sweet caroline from ivape. I might give it another go this weekend while reducing the Cavendish.

Thanks to you and Bill for all the help you have given. I unfortunately discovered DIY just recently. I have gained a lot from this thread and will look forward to hearing from both of you from time to time.

On a happier note, I mixed up some lite strawberry cheesecake from the Dropbox recipe list. I increased a couple of the flavors and let it steep overnight. It is fantastic. If I still like it after vaping it over the weekend then I'm going to mix a big bottle.

I got some new flavors a couple days ago and was wondering if someone had a peanut butter recipe that doesn't include chocolate. It's one flavor I forgot to put on this order. I'm up to about 35 flavors now but am still missing a lot.

Can you post the Strawberry Cheesecake recipe?

    Sure, no problem.

    Cheesecake 12%
    Graham cracker 3%
    Cotton candy 6%
    Strawberry 3%
    Vanilla bean ice cream 2%

That's how it's listed on Dropbox. I increased the cheesecake and strawberry by one percent each and decreased the cotton candy by one percent. What I used for the cheesecake was the cheesecake (graham crust). I'm not sure if that is what was intended or not but it sure came out good.

Okay... I'll bite. I've considered premixing my flavors as well, but my question is: Why not mix the VG/PG in as well... then you'd only have to add the sweetener/EM and Nic base... those are the two that effect flavor the most, right? I mean, nic gets darker and degrades at room temp, especially if it has oxygen exposure. So just hold those back and have everything else ready to go.

I premix my flavors (the ones that are ADVs) for the simple reason that it saves me time when I run out and have to mix up a new batch before heading off to work or for the next day. To me, that convenience it is worth it. But there are other advantages as well.

Once, you get the flavor ratios to where you like it, it is like a recipe where you can make smaller, or larger, recipes at will. Sometimes I make 15ml of finished liquid (for friends) ... sometimes I make 60ml bottles for travelling and sometimes I even make 120ml bottles to give away to friends. Four components every single time :)

Additionally, I don't always vape in the same percentages. It could be a different atomizer that I'm adjusting for or maybe I just want a bit extra nic (although I stay around the 5mg territory a lot).

While I generally vape at a 30/70 pg/vg ratio, different setups work better with different liquids. Some tanks and clearos just work better with thinner liquid. Then I move to a 50/50 liquid. If I use a dripper, I use a heavier one. If I go sub-ohm on a dual coil I halve the nic and raise the flavor percentage (from, say, 20% flavoring to 24%) for the different temps but preserving the desired flavor profiles.

And that's usually just for my own use. I also will make liquids for my friends who vape a variety of different nic levels and pg/vg ratios... all without changing the flavor profile/recipe.

YMMV but this works out nicely for me. This is why I premix flavors in 120ml bottles and never add in any additional pg, vg, or nic to the premix.
